Owner of a number of sites that are used to distribute unsolicited emails promoting UK businesses.

The messages claim that Acxiom only sends mail to "people who have agreed to receive relevant email offers", but judging by messages hitting our spamtraps this appears not to be the case.

The Reason this site has a poor rating is due to a Political Effort to give poor ratings to all sites that have the ability to locate damaging information of the Obama Admin and the Political Left… I have been to over a dozen sites that have a right leaning prospective that show a Red rating yet have found no issues with the site… This Site was a Private Fraud search site and was used to track Obama's SSN number which shows to a different individual and other data that places into question his background so there has been a concerted Effort to Black List this company ….

Perfectly reasonable website. If you browse through these comments you will notice most of them are misinformed and citing the privacy tracking post and website. The source for that information is clearly mistaken as I have read their privacy policy and they are not different than any other company website with what they do and track. I went to the original source and found that it simply did not gather the relevant information for this site before publishing its list of "bad sites".

To the people making very negative comments on this site: I agree with your anger over Acxiom use of data. I work for a company that uses that data and was shocked to see how much data is gathered on each of us (in the US).

Incorrectly rating the safety of a company's website hurts the effectiveness of WOT and the developers who contributed their time. Pushing my point further, if you depreciate the usefulness of sites like WOT by adding noise to the signal, people will have no decent guide for which web sites are the worst in violating our privacy.

This is a public company they do not take part in malware and malicious behavior. I am not sure if some of these people know what the site is before they rate it.

This is a company informational web site. Some of the reviewers are mis-informed and this should NOT be rated poorly. It is a very well respected global company that helps other companies manage their customer data bases. There is NO malware or other malicious software associated with this site.

Don't confuse personal privacy issues, with web site reputation issues. The acxiom.com web site is not troublesome. Acxiom.com is the biggest personal information data provider.
Acxiom has two databases:
1. A database of personal information (such as financial information and social security numbers) to support background checks, and supplied to businesses and law enforcement. Your personal information cannot be removed from this database.
2. A database of general public information, supplied to search engines (such as Google and Yahoo). You can select to remove your personal information from this database. You can make such a request through email or phone call. Visit Privacy Policy for details on how to remove your data from Acxiom or email [email protected] or call 1-877-774-2094.

This is not a web reputation issue.

This is a fine site and a good business. It doesn't deserve the low WOT reputation it has.
