If I could I would have given zero stars but I wasn鈥檛 given the option.
We still cannot claim our deposit back for the Portuguese villa we booked last year. I keep being told the same old story about why they cannot refund it. They keep saying that Portugal was open for business in June and that many people from countries such as Germany, Holland and Portugal could have accessed Portugal at that time – did they expect us from the UK who were unable to travel due to advice from the government (all but essential travel) to swim to Portugal or break the travel rules and not only have our insurance invalidated but also to potentially do some super spreading? We left it until the last possible moment to cancel before the full balance had to be paid therefore it could have been re-let to any of the German, Dutch or Portuguese who wished to use the villa and allowed us to have our money back! It is outrageous that under these extenuating circumstances they will not consider returning deposits to their clients. They have been less than helpful and we will never use them again.

We booked our holiday with Affinity on the 3rd March and paid the 拢1.090.00 deposit. With the balance to be paid of 拢2548 wich was paid on the 5th of June, after asking if they could give us more time due to the uncertainty of travel at that time. Answer no. I asked also if they would move the holiday to later in the year. Answer No. Then asked if it could be moved to 2021. Answer No.as they had not got contracts in place with that Villas owner, only to find they were advertising that Villa for 2021. I felt presured under the circumstances to pay the Balance and them saying you are insured.and also them saying if you don't, you will lose your deposit, but if you pay the balance it will be covered by your Insurance. Shortly after flights were cancelled and a refund received. Insurance claim subsequently denied also a claim under section 75 charge back. Disinclination to travel was the reason given by Insurance company and Credit card companies. The total cost of the villa was 拢3640.00 a refund of. 拢910 as per their terms and conditions75% of the cost. We are out of pocket to the tune of 拢2730. Which are Affinity Villas cancellation fee. I feel under the circumstances this is unreasonable given. a.) They would not help in any way to accommodate our request to move paying the balance or moving the holiday to later in the year. b,) Affinity would not even move our holiday to 2021. Saying they had no contract in place with that Villas owner, only to see it advertised for 2021. I feel this is unfair practice under the circumstances. There has been no goodwill from this company at all. We have used them previously, but never again. We still remain out of pocket. Who has benefited from this. Affinity and the Villa owners. I suggest Affinity look to being more helpful in the future towards their clients or they will have no business. The Force Majure in the Terms and Conditions should include pandemics. They kept telling us the Villa was there for our use. If we had travelled it would have gone against Government Advice invalidating our Insurance.

My family, like many others were unable to use their villa booking due to flights being cancelled. When it became apparent that we could not use the booking we cancelled, giving as much notice as possible.
To be told that we can't have a refund as 'the villa is there for you to use' is outrageous.
I have complained to the CMA about the unfair practices at Affinity Villas. To be told repeatedly that they are acting within their terms and conditions is just not helpful. We, like others, have just been told to claim off our insurance.
We tried to rebook or amend our booking for next year but were told it wasn't possible, even though villas for 2021 are on their website. Other villa companies have seen fit to refund their customers, even if it goes against their published terms and conditions. We have used Affinity before but this will be the last time. If they don't want to look after their customers, their customers will go elsewhere.

FCO advice is NOT to travel to Portugal. Are Affinity Villas suggesting I go against FCO advice and travel to Portugal? I would then be invalidating my travel insurance.

Well spoken thieves.
The person on the phone DID indeed tell me that I would be fined if my balance fell behind.
Also, It seems Portugal is NOT open for business as you are happily telling disappointed customers in your replies below. We may have cancelled on the 30th March but our flights were cancelled both ways in early June by the airline anyway.
A good business is NOT build on shifting the blame onto your customers, you have kept most of your customers deposits to cover your own backs and your reply here makes me cringe.
Do not bother giving out your well rehearsed excuses and saccharine well wishes whilst you bank our money.

Rented villa Danielle from affinity villas last year for 7 days , the villa is old and tired and the gardens were really scruffy. The photos in brochure were obviously taken when villa was new and are nothing like the villa now . On returning I spoke to affinity villas to complain and sent in various photos of the property condition which they said they would look into and get back to me. That was last year and I have not heard a thing from them. I will never book with this company again and will warn others to do the same

Interesting comments about loss of deposit, let me add my story!
I handed over 4k deposit for a family Villa that we were all looking forward too
My mother is 85 and currently not in great health so was an opportunity to spend some time with all of the family before she was in a position where travel would be impossible
We had a further 8k to pay which would not be covered by the insurance company ( nor is the deposit btw because we had to cancel or pay the 8k )
A proper catch 22, they would not delay the final payment so at 4pm on the day the balance was due we received a very cold email saying that we had broken contract and lost our deposit… nice, In my eyes they have stolen my money, please pass it on to who ever you can this company should be avoided at all costs, they really do not care, we have posted a number of posts on facebook warning people of this scam, avoid and go with a much more ethical company or be prepared to lose your cash

Regarding your reply, you miss the point from us and all of the other people, you backed people into a corner by not allowing more time to pay the final balance, once we did not pay the balance the cancellation is viewed that we cancelled which then means we are not insured
I will remind you that even though Portugal may be open, we still are unable to fly from the UK, as you already know
I really hope your short term greed costs you your business in the long term, you will probably rent out these villas and be able to have increased revenues, but people are not stupid and can see the theme here, your company is the pariah of the industry and in the long term I hope that this comes back to haunt you.
We have not finished with this yet and intend to get your business in the public Domain, I have written to a number of the tabloids / media and Government bodies

Anyone who reads this please support us and the other poor people who have spent and wasted 拢1000's by avoiding this company

We booked a villa with Affinity Villas for a week starting 30 April 2020, Ryanair gave us the option of refund or reschedule flights, the car hire company did the same due to CV19. I initially asked Affinity Villas to move our booking to same week 2021, but they refused stating terms and conditions, they also insisted on charging a 50% cancellation fee leaving us out of pocket by 拢451.50. This surprised me as they would have kept my custom if they had moved the booking to a later date.

Affinity Villas were great to deal with concerning our recent villa booking and trip to Quinta do Lago. They went above and beyond to our expectations when a local representative even drove to a number of local supermarkets to our villa to advise whether they sold the correct pre-made baby milk for our seemingly fussy daughter!
Have already enquired for a villa next year.

Nothing too much trouble. Affinity Villas' customer service is second to none, whenever I had a query or wanted to include something else on my booking the staff were friendly, quick & efficient in helping me. The villa we stayed at was very nice, clean, well equipped & a lovely private pool, my only reservation was that the beds were not the most comfortable but that would be down to the owners preference of mattress rather than a fault of Affinity Villas. I would definitely book through this company again.

We were very fortunate to be able to secure the 'Casa Terra Nova' through Affinity Villas in Portugal for 5 weeks. They were so helpful arranging and organised everything from the Villa, optional extras and even a Hire Car as we had various guests during our stay.
Nothing was a problem when Booking in the UK and when we were there 鈥?AMAZING!! The Villa was stunning and had absolutely everything. The Team that also looked after us in Portugal were Excellent. If you are thinking of a Villa in Portugal as a Holiday destination we would highly recommend Affinity Villas. Thank You we all had a great time!!!

Affinity Villas were efficient and pleasant throughout the booking process and when we arrived, had a welcome hamper awaiting which was much appreciated by all of us and saved us a visit to the supermarket. The Villa was lovely with superb hilltop views.

Affinity villas had a wide range of villas in the Algarve, having selected the villa, the booking and follow up service was very easy, professional and helpful. Staff on the phone were very helpful, Verity in particular helped obtain various details from the resort so we could book gym / spa in advance. The brochurs left in the villa by both the owners and affinity were very helpful. Would have no hesitation recommending Affinity and will definite use again when booking a villa.

Affinity Villas are professional and friendly and whilst you do may a premium over other villa companies, in this case the prmium is worth every penny. The booking and admin are faultless, enquiries are responded to fully and completely leaving no ambiguity. The villa was perfect, the description was 100% accurate and we were ready to holiday from the moment we arrived. The welcome pack was ideal for 24 hours and the villa was equipped with homely touches that didn't require a trip out on day one to buy soap. By some margin, the best villa company we have used and will use again.

Casa Ana at Almadena is a home from home. Well furnished and decorated, with everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday. It is very remote from shops and a 7k drive into Lagos so car essential but once there you will find at least four major supermarkets and every restaurant under the sun. (Do try the roof top restaurant above the fish market on the Avineda, wonderful views and terrific food) Casa Ana has a huge pool in a pretty garden, the beds and bedding clean and fresh with the maids coming in twice a week. Plenty of pots, pans and cooking equipment if you feel like staying in with a glass or three of wine. Loads of books to while away the hours, just leave yours on the shelf if you don't want to bring them home. Would return in a heart beat.
