I received a notice from microsoft with a number to call. i called that number and was told i had been hacked and that my software had been destroyed. they wanted $559.00 to repair and protect my computer from further damage. i did not have the money but they accepted a #150.00 deposit for 30 days of protection. unfortunately they now have my debit card number. i will cancel that account as soon as possible but what can i do in the meantime. can you verify that this is a legitimate microsoft number. i spoke to three people: Mark, Brian and I cannot remember the name of the man who called me to tell me that my computer had temporarily been restored. please help.
