During September 2020 I was surprised and disappointed with the approach Albert Heijn鈥檚 management have applied to their shops to limit the spread of COVID-19.
– Unmonitored number of People enter the shop
– no hand sanitizer is provided at the entrance
– only cleaning liquid for the trolleys is available
– employees are refilling the shelves during shopping hours without paying attention to their movements around the clients

AH Domburg is our worst experience in more than 40 years in the Netherlands. The boss in charge lies and it looks like he has a hate against Germans. Our problem was, that 2 families wanted to go shopping, but it wasn't possible to enter, cause they said we came with one car (lie). So better don't speak with other Germans, maybe someone can't enter the shop.

We are regular shoppers at the Albert Heijn.
Spending approx 1200-1300 Euros a month. The closest AH to me is Lambertus Zijlplein in Amsterdam.
I find the staff at this store to be overly 鈥渃licky鈥?and quite rude and dismissive. The feeling is that the customer is an inconvenience and staff are generally there for the social scene.
To be honest, I really don鈥檛 like visiting this store but do so out of convenience.
Two days ago, I was shopping at this store.
One till point open and several customers queueing to pay. A second till was opened and I moved over to unload my shopping. My daughter was shopping separately to me, so she paid for her shopping first. The girl at the till seemed in an extreme hurry and started almost throwing my items upon scanning. She then moved the central bar to make room for the next customer but in a very abrupt way. I had bought quite a few items including eggs. I asked her to be a little less aggressive and stated that throwing my items would not result in me packing them any faster and that I had delicate items and asked her to be a careful. She tutted, rolled her eyes and completely ignored me. I then asked for my receipt to be ignored and then asked a second time.
This was not the first time, I had experienced such terrible service from this girl, so I decided to bring this to the managers attention. As I approached the front desk and was expressing my frustration to what, I think was a supervisor, this girl also approached the desk and asked one of her colleagues if I was complaining about her and added 鈥淚 was doing my job, I am allowed to do my job right?鈥?To which I replied 鈥測ou don鈥檛 need to be so aggressive鈥?she stood there sniggering and ignoring me. The supervisor asked the girl to go into a back room. I asked to see the manager and the supervisor Reluctantly went on to say he was busy. Then I insisted by saying I would wait.
On speaking to the manager, I told him what I had experienced and he assured me this form of behavior would not happen again.
The following day (yesterday) I popped into the same AH to buy cigarettes and there she was at cigarette kiosk with another member of staff, who was deep in conversation with what looked like a friend. ( It appeared to be more than an interaction with a customer) on seeing the girl from the previous day and not wanting to interact with her. I told her colleague that I wanted to make a purchase but I didn鈥檛 want to be served by this girl. She replied by saying as she walked away that she could not serve me and I would have to go to her till. I replied that I didn鈥檛 have to do anything and Vomar is across the street and that鈥檚 where we will be doing our shopping from here on. She totally ignored me. Could not care any less.
On my way home, I came across one of my neighbors, I will still feeling frustrated and relayed my story to him and to no surprise, he said 鈥渙h we don鈥檛 go there anymore and I know exactly what you mean鈥? He then started telling me about the bad service he had received and that on two occasions he had found blue plastic stuck to the bottom of bread he had bought there and expressed how the bakery section was always in disarray and dirty. I was a little concerned as a few weeks ago, I had purchased Berliners and stuck to one of them was a piece of blue plastic, almost like a piece of a plastic glove.
So this my experience at this AH store to which I plan never to go again.

I am at-risk and self-isolating at home so searched for a supermarket that delivered groceries. Jan Linders didn't do this but Albert Heijn did. Ordering was a breeze and the goods came on the stipulated day and payment with a pin mobile went smoothly. (I don't have a phone but payment could have been made using my bank and the AH app.) It was a relief getting the food items I needed without having to leave my house. Bravo AH!!

If I have one comment to make, it is that finding a delivery slot free is a pain. I have to go onto the site each day in the hope that a delivery slot will become available.

The best supermarket in the world!! I have moved out of the country 7 years ago and still miss it to this day. In no country have I ever seen a supermarket that can compete. Keep up the good work Albert Heijn !!

This is one of the most important supermarkets in the netherlands and has shops in the most cities and villages.
They have a very strange policy of not accepting any debet or credit card that is foreign. So if you visit holland as a foreigner they don鈥檛 accept your card here.
You should always have some cash on you.
And banks in holland bill about 9 euros for withdrawing 200 euros so it鈥檚 better to be able to pay with cards.
Of course Albert Heyn is not the only shop with this policy . But as a big important brand it is ridiculous they don鈥檛 accept any foreign cards.

Their home delivery service is really bad

As Danish people living in this country they couldn鈥檛 take our credit card, cause it was not Dutch.

The driver was helpful and wanted to help, so he tried with the customer 鈥渟ervice鈥?center to help.
He knew about a way to make it work, so did customer 鈥渟ervice鈥?center. However they choose not to, so we didn鈥檛 get all the food and drinks we had delivered for a family gathering.

That is very sad, and the worst customer experince I have ever had

I still want my delivery, but the customer 鈥渟ervice鈥?center does not want to engage or answer us.

They don't accept Visa Debit Cards. Extremely disappointed. Very not friendly for foreigners, I had to leave all my items in store.

good customer service, yummy food, a little expensive compared to aldi lidl etc. but makes up for it with good tasting products, nice selection and smiling helpful staff.
