Ally Financial is the worst car finance company I have ever used. We have purchased many vehicles over the years and this company is by far the worst. The customer service is outsourced and they will not forward you to someone that can address the problem. They hold you hostage for fees they claim you owe, but do not have supporting evidence. We paid off our new car when the loan was transferred to a much better financial institution. We received a statement that indicated no outstanding balance for several months. Suddenly we owe them $318.79 for past interest. The statement shows that our final payment included a payment for this exact amount. They refuse to fix this and demand payment. They have my car title hostage. I would recommend that no one use them ever. Any bank or credit union would be better.

terrible customer service. I was not impressed and this will make you lose money. the spread alone is nothing to write home about, customer service is worse. I contacted this firm and I made more than my investment in less than two week. www. ericmasonfx. com fully recommend.

I have had an account with Ally since 2015 and no issues till recently. I had a trade that reverse split. This was an old trade of about 3 years old. after the split my coast basis went up by135% and my loss was more than I invested originally. I called Ally a total of 5 times and requested a manager to please return my call to discuss this situation. I then sent 2 emails repeating yet again the situation and requesting a call back. I received an email simply stating there was no error. I responded requesting a call as their answer made no sense . I stated that it is impossible for my trade to have 70% more loss than I invested.
Given their poor customer service in this matter I informed them that I would be contacting the SEC and once resolved I would be closing my account.
I agree with others stating the customer service was always polite and profession on any occasion that I called with a question, till money error occurred and then their true colors showed.
In conclusion I do not feel my funds are safe with Ally and I suggest you seek out a more reliable brokerage before you give this company any of your hard earned money and suggest you seek another company if you already have an acc with then, you do not want a situation like the one I am in.
Sincerely

The worst customer service experience. I had a car accident and called them to move the payment to the end of the month so the insurance company could handle it and I was told by a representative that it would be moved but the payment date was not moved and I was sent a past due notice and I called and was told 'too bad' basically.

This has been a horrible experience. I purchased my car and after paying on my car for 7 months and not receiving a TAG because I was overseas in Iraq. I am not being told by ally.com that they don鈥檛 have my title and I can鈥檛 register my vehicle and my title is actually with another bank who the car dealership owes. Ally keeps giving me the run around. One minute they are closing my mobile account online then next they are asking me to get a binder title for my car which the DMV advises me not to do. I got back from Iraq in August and haven鈥檛 been able to drive my car do to Temp TAGs being expired and not being able to get the registered because ally doesn鈥檛 have the title. This is not a way to treat anyone but I especially a Soldier who purchased a car to have when they got back from fighting for their country. I wish I had never done business with this company. All my car notes have been paid on time. They tell me I have to keep paying even though I can鈥檛 drive the car because they don鈥檛 have the title.

Truck is paid off but they won鈥檛 give me the title! I鈥檝e been at it for MONTHS! Dyne, Sheila, Joy, Raphael you are all horrible!! And your reference numbers are WORTHLESS! How hard is it to fax a release letter or put a piece of paper in the mail!?! The company and all of its employees is HORRIBLE

Ally Finance was ok while I was paying for the car, once I paid it off everything changed. I paid off my car March 2019, I have been requesting my title ever since. I have numerous confirmation numbers, stating they "sent" my title, never came. Finally, they sent a release lien letter, however it is missing a line that the State of Colorado requires. I have called and requested this line to be added, they send the same letter without the line added. Today, I called and was told Ally can not add the line requested by the State of Colorado and to have the DMV call Ally to release the lien as they no longer have the title. So I have a paid off car, with no title for the past year and a half. Hopefully, I can get the State of Colorado to release the title. Do not use this company.

My whole family have leased cars thru Ally. I tell you it鈥檚 been crazzzzy for last 6 months. They don鈥檛 post payments that were made. They have no clue when our cars are due back and even told one of us that we no longer had a lease vehicle thru them when we still do. They admitted they have ongoing issues and hope to Get this corrected Eventually. Some of the reps are extremely rude. Some are helpful but their phones cut out and hangs up. Some have admitted they have no clue what the company is doing and they have no clue how to help us. Just have to wait and see when they finally correct and update the accounts. Keep all notes and every payment made. Plan to spend countless time with them on phone calls.

Ally is absolutely disgusting what they do to people and how they treat people. I traded in my car in February rolled over the payment into my new car. Spent hours upon hours on the phone trying to figure out why every month I was showing a late payment. They keep asking me if I wanted to pay for instead of showing late payment. The car was traded in and rolled over payment!!! Finally stated they took care of the issue today I get a bill in the mail for $3000 late payments not having insurance on it late fees. Why would I have insurance on a car I traded in in February why do I still owe payments. In August when the lease was up in April? When I called them they told me just wait for the collection agency to call because now I鈥檓 in collections. Absolutely disgusting human beings to deal with rude unprofessional the guy laughed when I told him I was gonna put a complaining and told me his boss didn鈥檛 have time for me. I鈥檝e never in my life been so disgusted!!

No loan data reported to CRAs from December until May, then they showed 2 late payments in Jan and Feb, which was completely wrong as we have paid on time every month for 3 years. We've disputed with CRAs but Ally once again misreported and the dispute was closed. 2 months later it's still wrong and Ally have said it could take a further 45 days to fix. We lost a house purchase due to messed up credit score. Considering attorney to claim damages.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The poorest customer service and terrible ethics. I paid them the lease buyout amount in February but they tell me after the fact that I need to pay the dealership directly to close, but in the meantime, they send my account to collections anyway. I had to call customer care numerous times and go through at least SIX people to get any person to understand the situation. Still no apology and now I need to file a dispute to try to get my credit rating restored – All due to ALLY's incompetence.

I can't even say they deserve a 1 star rating. I talked with them several times and gained authorization from my husband for them to speak to me regarding our account. They don't know how to make notes on the account pertaining to his authorizations being given so his work day had to be interrupted many times due to their negligence. We're trying to pay off account and my financial institution requested payoff and sent check. Somehow the check got lost so after 3 weeks of them not receiving it, my bank cancelled that check, reissued a new check and sent it overnight it to Ally. Prior to them receiving my payment, they had indicated they would backdate to date requested once the payment had posted. So the payment posted, I called Ally to see if they could backdate the check and they told me NO because it wasn't their fault the payment wasn't received on time. Their motto is "We鈥檙e dedicated to doing it right 鈥?every day." I have to disagree 100%. They are not willing to work or do right by the customer from what I've experienced!!!

I have my vehicle financed with them and my payments are $282 a month. I set up in the app for them to take $150 from me bi-weekly (every day I get paid) and I made sure to select for it to chip away at my monthly balance. The first $150 came out and it didn't reflect my monthly balance or my overall balance and had already cleared my bank. I called and the lady I spoke with couldn't explain where my money went so I requested a refund, cancelled all future payments of $150, and decided I'll just pay when it's due. The lady said my refund was issued to be mailed to me on July 6th and asked me multiple times why I was cancelling future payments, instead of being worried about my money went. Now, it is August 7th, I've paid Ally $450 dollars in the month of July and I keep getting conflicting stories on where my $150 refund is. I plan on refinancing with another bank as soon as possible to avoid this bs again.

The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. I turned in my leased Jeep in perfect condition. The rep who initially took the keys and did the walkaround check even commented on how perfectly clean it was.

I signed the mileage paper, gave them the keys, and that was it.

2 weeks later I get hit with a $391 bill for a dent and scratch on the back right of the car.

The driver who took the jeep from the dealership to Ally to be "reviewed" crashed the jeep (scratched/dented the back right of the car).

Guess who they blamed? Me.

2 months to try and get this issue escalated with them finally saying, "sorry, this case is closed. We can't help you". They said I could "Write a letter" if I wanted to try and escalate it further, but that wouldn't help.

Absolutely insane. Do NOT work with them.

have never made a late payment, they made a mistake on there end that says i missed a payment they admit it is their mistake but don't no how to fix it. meanwhile i am getting negative reports on my credit which jumped up my insurance rate and is giving me all kinds of problems they say it may take up to 45 days to fix but it has already been over 90 days what a bunch of low life lairs.

There should be an option for zero star because these people are the worst! I cosigned my brother on a car loan. He has paid on time for 5 years and counting. His car got towed, not by ally, and due to coronavirus he couldn鈥檛 get it out of tow on time. Ally went to the tow company, picked up the car, closed the account, which dropped our credits significantly! No warning, no late payment, zero problems! If you can avoid this company, please do! They will mess u up any opportunity they get.

I make my payments on time for the three years I have had an auto loan with Ally and I received a letter stating they referred my account to their Asset Recover Center because I did not pay my payments. They dropped my credit scores showing as a Charged-off Loss. The customer service department won鈥檛 give me any answers why this is happening.

If I can give a sad face and a middle finger, I would. We are experiencing a pandemic. I got back on my feet and paid two payments in one month (May-June). These [email protected] reported me to the credit bureaus as late. I called customer service and the outsourced firm kept giving me this speel about my payment being due on the 27th and it was late 38 days. I said ma'am I understand that, but I submitted the payments and Ally still reported me as dilinquent. She said let me speak to my supervisor it should take 2 minutes. She came back 5 minutes later saying she submitted the request and it's a good chance my account will be cleared, just call back in 30 days to see if it was approved by a supervisor. Are you f***g kidding me. I will never do business with this financial institution ever again.

Worst company service ever. I make all of my auto payments on time and sometimes pay more. One month this year they just started saying I own an additional $250. I have talked to them many times and showed them all of my payments have been made. They even agree and give me a reference number stating that they will take care of it but they keep adding late fees and saying I owe the extra $250. I am going to make sure everyone I know hears about this.

If I could give zero stars I would at this point. I had an extended 24 month warranty contract that was purchased through my dealership in February when purchasing my vehicle. The contract was for $2,000 24 mos/ 24,000 miles. My car was totaled an in accident on July 1 and as a result I cancelled my warranty with Ally because I no longer had the car. Upon requesting a refund I was notified that I would only receive a 66% refund on the $2000 which I believe is unethical. I only had the contract for 5 out of the 24 months and inly drive the car 6,000 miles out of the 24,000 miles on the contract. I understand charging me a cancellation fee ($50) however after only using the contract for a fraction of the term agreement, I should be receiving at least an additional $300 back from the money I spent. Their only explanation for this discrepancy is that 鈥渢his is the percentage that the computer system generates鈥?and so this is what they have to go with. The gentleman (Eric) could not explain the math that goes into how they get their numbers and I informed him that this is unethical and very unfair business to say the least. With everything else Im having to deal with in this terrible accident, getting a fair refund on the money I spent on my vehicle should be the last thing I have to worry about. I am extremely upset about this and would seriously consider this fraud in advertising and business practice.
