It's was a great stay at the ambassador inn. Me and my friends came all the way from Illinois to come see dababy at the rave we were all under 21 so being able to stay near the rave and having somewhere to stay was great. Everyone was nice and understanding. We are planning on staying again to go see Trippie Redd in February!!!

This was an okay option until i showed up and was told my reservation was cancelled because someone else wanted my room… i asked was that the regular policy and was told that they dont really recognize outside reservations but they would get me a room. I am now in a 2 twin bed room when i booked 2 room suite. This is awesome and when you order food here, it depends on whos working, weather or not your delivery driver is allowed to enter the building to deliver your food. Also if you show up from a night out with clients after 10 p.m. you will be grilled down like a child from Jennifer on why you didnt get back earlier…. who is this lady and why is she allowed to disrespect guests here??? I travel a lot and have never been told i could enter if i was quiet and listened to her. This is a shit show and i as a business owner would can anyone on the spot who treated my customers this way.

This was our first visit to the Ambassador Inn. We were in town for a concert at the Rave so the location was great. Our room was clean but the shower curtain had some mildew stains. The room was comfortable despite being small. We probably wouldn't spend more than 2 nights there at a time because of the size. I was neither overly impressed or unimpressed by this property. Hence the 3.

Don't stay here. The road leading to the parking lot said it was closed, so we temporarily parked on the street while we went to check in and ask about the parking lot. I will say the man working the front desk was very nice. However the hotel is extremely run down, it seriously feels like a place that would be haunted. When we got a parking pass I went to move my car, and literally not two minutes later someone WAS SHOT right where I was parked. Shot…as in with a gun. This place is in the hood, so unless you're comfortable with that, don't stay. Also, the first room we were given the lights did not work. The hotel did immediately give us another room (and the lights of the first were fixed) but in our second room we couldn't adjust the air conditioning. Not the best if you ask me.

I went to an event here over the weekend
I believe this area is near Marquette university
This weekend was a very busy one due to the fact the Cubs and the Brewers were playing.
I didn't stay here, the event was held in banquet room
The room was adequate enough ,it could be used more lighting
I wish the banquet room had it own ajoining restroom facilities
The one that was available was below standard only two stalls and one was clogged
The restroom needed tlc greatly

If you're staying here after a concert, it's not awful. The venue is super close to the hotel. Other than that, this hotel is run down. We had stains on our sheets and a TV with volume issues. The front desk staff was nice, and made check in quick. Never received a receipt detailing why my check in was $25 more than the price I was given online. Breakfast is free but only till 930. So if you've been out all night, it's gonna suck. Would rather stay at its sister location across the street.

This place is an utter dump. It looks as if it hasn't been remodeled since the 70's. The people here are nice, but are very weird. They charge $10 to park when there is tons of street parking, then try to tell you, they aren't responsible if you get a ticket. The room is disgusting. The toilet isn't clean, the shower retains water. Its just outright gross. I'll never be back.

The reason for my 5 stars isn't because you'll confuse this place with a luxury resort. It's because the room is a great value. One of the cheapest hotels in Milwaukee that offers a free shuttle service to and from Brewers games and to many other near by locations. We had a miscommunication with parking fees but were able to work them out. Work recommend to anyone who's looking for a trip on a budget.

Off to a bad start. Arrived at 4:30 and rooms are not ready for check in. Upon enterting it smelled of old pool hall from the 80's. Looks like ill have to side w the people who left neg reviews.

2.5 stars, really a sub par hotel in a questionable part of town. However, the Ambassador HOTEL is across the street and it's a beautiful 1920's-esque marble floored hotel with an incredible breakfast/brunch spot called Envoy with great servers and a great menu. Stay there, NOT the Inn. I checked in to the Ambassador Hotel when I first got in by accident, and when I was redirected to the Ambassador Inn across the street, my business partner and I felt like Wayne & Garth in Wayne's World II when they are denied access backstage.

I'll start with the Pros:
No bedbugs
I didn't get rained on, so beats sleeping outside
Shower pressure was decent
Free wifi
Free "breakfast" but again – save your stomach and go across the street

Cons:
charger in underneath the desk on the floor
desk chair was bent way back and uncomfortable
dirty around baseboards
no comforter in closet
ridiculous "anti-theft" hangers
drunken, loud clientele
Coffee in room was awful
Building was hot
Weird broom closet sized elevator but it's only 3 floors
Questionable neighborhood a couple blocks to the West
Couldn't find the ice room, neither could desk clerk

Great value for the money! We got a room here very last minute and were pleased with it. No, it's not the Four Seasons, but it was clean and well maintained. We went across the street to that Ambassador and had something to eat and a drink.

This is a nice find for us and we will be staying here next time we need a room in Milwaukee. Hopefully it will not be an emergency situation like it was this time.

Great hotel! Stayed here for two nights. They provided transport to summerfest and a decent breakfast spread. Probably one of the better hotels in the city.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the hotel has become a bit faded and ragged around the edges. But it's great value for money, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They own the more expensive sister hotel across the street and we get the use of their free shuttle service too. From breakfast time until midnight you can get dropped off anywhere within a 3 mile radius and picked up too, made our trip awesome. You don't want to wander too far from the hotel on foot as the area has become quite rough, but there's nothing worth seeing near the hotel any way. Comfy beds. Even a descent continental breakfast for free.

Stayed here for a ceramics conference trip recently. Spent four nights in our room and it wasn't a bad experience. The room itself is comfortable, nice beds that don't feel like rocks, and a clean bathroom with lots of counter space. The microwave and fridge were convenient. Housekeeping did a nice job, and the staff was friendly. My only real complaint was the continental breakfast sucked. The coffee was godawful dirty water that was so translucent it looked more like tea. Pre-packaged honey buns and danishes did little to stimulate my appetite and the elementary school juice cups were just bleh. They should really invest in a decent coffee maker and put out some fresh food like bagels, or muffins.

Other than that, not bad.

We just stayed at the Marquette Inn. Our family found the accommodations newly remodeled. Clean and rooms are larger than average. Microwave and mini refrigerator. Walls are thin Very friendly front desk staff. The elevator is small , but the curved staircase is unique and quite wide. There is a "grab and go" breakfast. Wrapped pastry, apple juice, milk, oatmeal, yogurt. Only one table for four in the breakfast room. Breakfast was a disappointment. Go across the street to eat breakfast at Michaels Restaurant. 3.99 for 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and meat. Nice family restaurant.

This place is a good place to stay if you are here for a couple days and don't want to hurt your pocket book to much. My wife and I stayed a couple days in Milwaukee cause we were going to the Brewers Game.

We came in early on our flight and came to drop our luggage off. They were nice enough to let us get a super early check in to our room. I thought that was super cool of them to do because they did not have to go that extra distance.

They also offer a shuttle to and from the Brewers stadium so that was an added bonus. Our room was clean and beds were nice and comfy. Just know that if you venture down the a couple blocks the area can get a little sketchy. Overall a good experience and I would defiantly come back again. CHEERS!

We stayed here last August because of a concert we were going to at the Rave, which got canceled. We still came up because we couldn't get a refund since we reserved the room at special price though a site like hotels.com or something.

Considering what we paid it wasn't all the bad. The decor was not to my liking but then again I'm not a fan of art deco. The room and bathroom was super clean with no noticeable smells. The bedding was comfortable and the staff was super friendly though I had little contact with them. They had a little kitchenette next to the lobby, which had the typical continental breakfast. The area was smaller than what I'm used to but I don't personally care too much about stuff like that. I generally like trying local restaurants when I'm traveling versus eating at a hotel.

Overall, I thought it was a decent hotel to stay at considering the price. Plus when I travel I try to spend as little time as possible in the room since I only stay in hotels when I'm traveling and I like to be out and about doing vacationy things. So, as long as the room is comfortable, clean, they have some basic cable, and free wifi I'm all good.

The only thing was the lighting in the room was terrible. It was super dark in the evening even with all the lamps on, and the coffee pot took forever to work.

I had read all the bad reviews for this place on Yelp and Hotels.com but decided to stay here anyway as lodging is so expensive and sometimes tough to secure around Summerfest. We stayed one night and I thought it would be a simple night in a hotel. I don't need a fancy place or for everything to be brand new to be pleased, so the fact that the place is a little run down didn't bother me. I also appreciated the free shuttle service to Summerfest. What I did NOT appreciate was getting back to our hotel room at 2:30 A.M. to find out that the a.c. was broken, and this on a day of 100 degree temps. It was at least 85 degrees in our room and the a.c. would not come down. Luckily enough, the staff offered to give us a room across the street at the Ambassador Hotel- this after we tried to sleep for a couple of hours. I was told by staff that she had no other rooms available in the Inn, which led me to believe that the a/c may have been broken in the whole place. I was happy for the room in the other hotel, but overall really disappointed. I hate to say it but we would have been better off at a cheap chain hotel. The Ambassador Hotel seems like a better bet.

Simply awful. Smells bad, and my room didn't even have a curtain rod to hang my clothes, much less a closet of any kind. Had to stay here 1 night because every hotel in Milwaukee was booked. The Amassador Hotel across the street is pretty nice, just stay away from the Inn.

Staff was really friendly but understaffed. The rooms were not very appealing and there was mold and remains from a previous party on the ceiling in our room.

Service mediocre at best, don't count on their shuttle to get you after dinner in town. Our room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and cheap air freshner. Won't stay here again.

This is a good deal on a downtown hotel. Free parking, free shuttle- decent rooms. The pillows are weird, but its clean and nice. Aveda products in the bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Good deal!

I guess this is the bastard son of the Ambassador Hotel since it is a less elegant hotel located directly across the street from the Ambassador Hotel.

This hotel was still comfortable but I had the same noise issues as I did in the Ambassador which can be expected.

What I didn't like was the fact that groups of patrons gathered at the front door to smoke so I had to make my way through them to get in. Also, the hotel does offer a continental breakfast but it sucks. It consists of all cold items besides the packets of generic oatmeal you can make.

They do have an exercise room, though, which was a plus for me and the staff was decent.

We stayed at the Ambassador Inn at Marquette which is the sister property managed by the Ambassador and located across the street from this classic art-deco hotel listed.

It is far less posh, and less expensive than the historic Ambassador. We booked our reservations through Hotwire and found the Ambassador Inn to be a great value for what we paid. It was obvious that the hotel had been recently remodeled. Rooms were clean, featured flat-panel televisions and duvets on the bed. The Ambassador Inn was nothing exceptional but was a very comfortable & clean place to stay for our visit to Milwaukee and a great value.

I enjoyed the proximity to the parent hotel and it's services which were available to us as guests at the lower-cost facility. We enjoyed the restaurant and lounge and the free shuttle-service which took us to and from both of the games we were in town for at the Bradley Center.
