AmeriSave Mortgage

My husband and I were seeking a mortgage to refinance our home. We have stellar credit, no debt. If you want a total waste of your time, AmeriWrong is for you! We started the application process in August. It is now January 30th. We were bounced around from one loan officer to another because their company can't hold onto their employees. Never… I say never join in a contractual basis with this company.

Reading all these other bad reviews I can say my experience is exactly what is expressed by all the other reviewers! Believe it, theses guys are a mess. They are unprofessional and sloppy. It appears to be little more than a scam to cheat you out of $500.00. There is no communication or follow through on promises. A complete lack of integrity. Stay away even if it cost you more! Caveat Emptor

Very upset about how I was treated by this company. I got strung along with a loan (Bryan Klosterman was my loan officer) for 2 months (which I could have been working with someone else), then after the disclosures came out, I got an automated email saying it was declined. I left voicemails, texts, emails and even called the support team and they didn't get back to me. They basically ghosted me. I've never been treated like this from a mortgage company (I have purchased 4 houses in the past). Don't work with them.

This lender has a poor performance of delivering. They don't respond in a timely fashion. Took over 4.5 months on a simple refinance.

My contact Jeremy was great the first few times we talked, then nothing. Ghosted, won't answer phone calls or emails. What a goddam flake, hard credit report was run, a few calls after that. I wouldn't trust this company; I will go to someone I can actually sit across from them in their office, and deal with them face to face.

This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have been trying to refi a piece of rental property for over 90 days and finally I gave up and withdrew my application when they requested info I had submitted months prior. They have been telling me for months that I am in the final stages but the loan never closes. I have 800+ credit scores, I own a very successful manufacturing business since 2002, and have plenty of assets. I recently refinanced my own home in 45 days without an appraisal. This company is one to avoid.

Probably worst professional experience I have had… ever (not just with mortgage banks, with ANY company). I'm 48 years old FWIW, owned 2 homes, several refi's etc. Absolute amateur clown show here. Was literally about to submit a complaint to the consumer protection bureau after months of non-answers and radio silence (especially after reading multiple similar horror stories to my own, across the country), when my loan officer called me. I won't go into all the almost comical details here, just trust me on this… for refi's at least, choose literally ANY other company than Amerisave. The. Worst.

One star is way to many for them. I was doing a simple IRRL and they would repeatedly send emails requesting items I had sent several times before. My only POC would only say the emails are not from him and doesn't know why. It was horrible and would rather pay extra interest than to have to deal with these people at all and then to think I would have to deal with this for the remainder of the loan.

First time for refinancing my home and applied with AmeriSave due to them be recommended by lending tree. I assume AmeriSave pays lending tree $$$ to promote them. Either way, horrible communication from loan originator. Underwriters would ask for the same documents multiple times (not paystubs but previous year w-2s and tax returns). What did they do with the first set I submitted? Had to Withdraw my application 2x since the first time I guess they disregarded the email or are just idiots working there. Would not recommend to anyone.

Like many of the reviews on here, we are trying to refinance mortgage for home we already are in, have money in bank, nearly perfect credit scores, etc. Started the process late August, provided everything they asked for, as quickly as we could. Were told we'd close in 2 months, mid to late October. Then they started making excuses, asking for more information (same stuff we'd already given), then we had to call them, now it's devolved to us chasing them, and last week we couldn't get in touch with anyone. Called and texted our loan originator 10 times on the cell number she provided, no answer. Called her this AM on my daughter's cell phone (I know, dirty trick) and she actually answered. Sounds like I woke her up, but she did talk to me for a minute – says she no longer works for Amerisave, can't tell me anything due to "legal reasons". I told her it was kind of crappy to not let her existing customers know she'd left so they'd stop calling, to which she said "I hope you have a great holiday". Well, me too, it certainly would've been better if we'd gotten this refinancing done by now. Now we need to start over it seems. I started a fraud claim against them with our credit card company (Bank of America) for the $500 loan origination fee, hopefully we can get our money back.

I was so disappointed with the process, five months of doing this and that only to get denied. My situation was the same when I started the process with the pre-approval, such a waste of time and energy. The appraiser was a nice man and the loan officer was personable. It was a very bad experience.

Loan office charles evans, had a hard time keeping me informed and after 6 months the refinance was turned down. I only wished that I had read the reviews then I would have never never applied for a refinance. Worst experience ever do yourself and stay far away from amerisave mortgage. Lousy person charles evans and lousy company wish I could give a zero rating.

My refi has been in process for nearly 5 months with no closing in sight. I responded virtually immediately to every document request, have great credit, there were no property issues or any other problem. The loan was even approved to close once after 4 months, but then put back into delay because they found more documents that had "expired" because of their prior delays. No status is provided, there's no response to questions, and it is almost impossible to talk to anyone because (a) they have a broken phone system and (b) calls just go to voicemail. The applicant is basically treated like dirt as they plod along in some chaotic world.

Two stars instead of one because the closing was done nicely: electronic signatures on most documents and they sent a local notary over to get final signatures (took less than an hour).

A simple refi has been dragging on for months now. We started in September and it is now nearing the end of November. Communication is extremely poor if not non existent. They repeatedly ask you for the same information over and over. Complete waste of time!

I started my refinance process with Amerisave in early July. I started with Amerisave after talking to one of their representatives and foolishly believing in his promises of prompt responses, closing this in August and getting a floating interest rate in case the interest rates go down before closing. I also paid $500 upfront as per their rules. Its 4 months since then and there is no sign of a closing date yet. I'm stuck with the $500 that i already paid. Also the interest rates have fluctuated and gone down since then and no word about reducing the interest rate even ater me asking them several times. I just wanted to move on if they refund my amount, but they Never Ever entertained any conversations about my refund and let me go even after me asking them so many times. Also they kept requesting my current lender about loan information which costed my $30 everytime they did. I think so far i got charged extra for about $100. They wasted my TIME, MONEY AND STILL TESTING MY PATIENCE. They always answer the question they want to and not the questions that we ask. This is absolutely unacceptable and i need my refund and get the hell out of this mess. Its sad that i cannot and now I'm really not sure if they will ever close this and honor the credit and interest rate they initially agreed to.

Tried to refi our tomnhome with a 800 plus credit score and no debt. 30 days we waited only to find out no deal. Do not believe Corey Lynch or Anthony Painter! They are not good or knowledgeable lenders. Too many unanswered promises! There are many mortgage companies who do better!

I started to refinance in August 2020. I submitted all requested documentation was dragged on for three months. I complained and requested for managers and supervisors. So within 3 days of submitting a complaint to the BBB I received a letter of denial… interesting it gets better I am simply told that my deposits are refunded and goodbye that they cannot determine that I qualify for the refinance. I went with them because they taunted a 2.6% but went back to the company I always use and guess what I am refinancing! Amerisave lies and gives the run-around and I would never recommend them. I also had a mortgage with them in November 2019 and paid off in May of 2020.

Horrible experience, My opinion stay away at all cost. Sent them all my personal information for processing which to be honest I regret. More than 80 days past with no rate lock. Loan Originator keeps answering you with the same answers as if they buy time with hopes that the rate goes on their favor. Now I carry a hard pull on my credit which has left me outside the 45 day window in applying with a new lender and not being considered as a 1 hard pull hit.

It should have been easy and the individual I talked to on the phone at first was such a good, kind salesman. I was very much looking forward to getting a low interest rate loan from them. Unfortunately, the rest of the business is just a corporate, bureaucratic, "you're not a high priority, please wait multiple days for help" style machine. Good luck trying to get someone to answer the phone. And they're so unorganized. I had to resubmit so many documents on the website… all in all, I'd rather pay just a little bit more in interest and work with a local bank, or some other bank. This is the worst experience I've had with a lender. I felt like the absolute lowest priority.

WALK AWAY DON'T USE THEM – LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY. I am working with them now. I have been told my loan is in "processing". When I ask the representative when it will come out of processing, he tells me to be patient it takes 6-8 weeks. I am now 7 weeks into the process. I finally spent 35 minutes on the phone to reach Solidify Title & Closing. They requested a payoff ltr which I emailed on 10/6/2020, but since the email was from me not a company, they didn't review my email. I do not recommend this company and am highly disappointed in the people I have dealt with. They don't seem to care or have a sense of urgency. You're on your own. You'll think you're being scammed. For real! No contact, no follow up. No replies to your inquiries on YOUR loan. My Banker Henry Colliver. Wow I just can't say enough bad. If you get him, get anyone else or go elsewhere.

Amerisave promised us a rate of 2.5% APR on a 20 year. We paid the $500 Application fee and was told that would lock the rate. However, FIVE days later, Amerisave wouldn't return our phone calls or provide us with proof of our rate lock in writing. Given this lack of professionalism, we took our business elsewhere.

Should have been easy, high net worth, credit score over 800, no other debt but I am now 80 days into their process without a closing date yet. Slow, ponderous, bureaucratic, poor follow up, inexperienced, numerous handoffs just a few of the problems. Did probably 8 mortgage loans in my life, this is by far the worst. Avoid at all costs.

A mortgage company's reputation is based upon ALL employees who handle a loan, including their subcontractors. You pay them the ridiculous fees charged to know their jobs. Sadly, the loan processor in my account dropped the ball so bad that my review of Amerisave cancels out really good work done by the loan agent.

Multiple mistakes were made involving the official approved status on my loan that kept changing (even with excellent credit and a secure pension), a closing date that had to be cancelled at the last minute due to deficient documentation, another closing date jeopardized due to the same issue, and incorrect answers to very specific questions about how cash-out payoffs would be handled. All of this caused more inconvenience and frustration than the average customer should have to endure with the mortgage industry. I detailed all of these issues with the Amerisave Customer Satisfaction Department in an effort to help them address some internal problems for future customers, but never received a single reply.

While I was finally able to get my home refinanced and babysat all those details after the closing that should normally be seamless, I just can't recommend Amerisave to anyone. All businesses make mistakes. The difference between the good ones and bad ones are how those companies acknowledge the problem(s) and then learn from them. I have no reasonable expectation that Amerisave has done either.

NOTE: If you happen to be reading this BEFORE your cash-out home refinancing loan closes, your payments to creditors (not your old mortgage) WILL NOT be wired to them regardless of what anyone at Amerisave states. Solidifi is the title company used and they actually overnight a check made out for a creditor(s) to the borrower, who then has to quickly resend it all over again. (Microscope required to read this disclaimer on one of the many forms signed at the closing.) A simple overnight envelope delivery is over $60 now! Ridiculous and wasteful, especially when I specifically asked Amerisave in writing how such payments would be handled and told otherwise. A customer who is not paying attention here could loose allot on interest and late payment fees.
