Articulate

This software is frustrating to navigate and annoying to animate with. It's very annoying that it does not work on mac either. It's extremely flimsy and things like the timeline are just so awkward to scroll, zoom in and out of, find what I need, delete things etc. It is very similar to windows power point, which is too clunky and slow to have more advanced animation and design like this, and I think it should be more similar to actual video edit/animate/design software like premier pro than powerpoint. Needs an overhaul. Having it blacklit instead of bright white would be a good idea too. Overall very annoying to use.

Literally the WORST program I have ever used. It seems like such a wonderful program then, WHAM, "This project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline." error message appears and EVERYTHING you have done is lost.

I've lost so many projects, weeks of work, only to start over.

So, make backups, you say, Yup, made 4 of them and they are now all corrupted. There are no backup files, though it is set to save automatically, which is useless as the file is corrupted.

Literally, saved the project. Closed it out. Opened it back up to make a correction and the error message popped up. And guess what, there is NOTHING I can do about it. Search the community, it's like oh, sorry, sucks to be you, sort of attitude. This is NOT a product for professional usage, especially when you have deadlines and all your work gets corrupted.

Note: I had no other programs working. I've been saving versions 1, 2, 3, so I have additional copies. Today, after making additional copies, from a version that worked mere seconds before, all of the files came up with the corrupted message.

I have contacted Articulate and opened a case. EVEN if they can get my projects back, I'm stuck sitting here writing a review of how horrible the product is, instead of working on my projects.

Using SL2 is a fairly decent process, with some friction points when getting into the nitty gritty of using the software. I do like that you can import translations directly and that makes building courses anew in another language must faster. I do like the versatility of layers, states and triggers. As well there are many valuable templates created by community users that can be gleaned and updated for your own needs. When working with a module that is large, the SL2 file can become unstable and corrupt – which is no fun – and in my experience not recoverable. It does not create a good mobile user experience unless you build a course that is specifically designed for the mobile experience, so that means multiple courses for the same content.

Articulate has really stepped up their game with the new 360 launch. The Articulate Review service is brilliant and has greatly reduced the amount of annoying tasks we have to go through to review Storyline files internally. Rise is an excellent way to quickly and easily build e-learning projects, while Storyline remains a strong, much more complex partner. The content library is full of great stuff that can easily be used in projects.

Articulate produces best of class CBT authoring tools, especially Storyline. While a novice user can get "up to speed" within just a few hours, it is robust enough to support full-featured engaging CBTs.

Articulate is one of the best LMS investments we've made. We started out by turning our static PowerPoint training into exciting and interactive training programs we now use for onboarding new and existing employees. One of the easiest programs to learn with an incredible network of information and knowledgeable users.

I left a review about the Articulate suite of goodies about one year ago. Since then, Articulate have moved to the Cloud and introduced new products such as Rise and Review. They have also greatly improved the number and library of templates and characters. Rise and Review are exceptional additions to the Articulate family.

My only concern is the pricing strategy. I understand moving to the Cloud with all of the benefits that provides in terms of stability and upgrading applications. But at a projected annual subscription of $999 and no projected facility to pay for individual applications, I wonder whether this might be off-putting for those, like me, who create eLearning for charities and seek no payment and for those who do not use every application this might cause hesitation in commiting to products that could not later be amended.

For me, at the moment, the suite of applications and the most exceptional community are benefits that would lead me to persuade she who holds the purse strings that I could not live without them!! But my task would be made much easier if there was a more flexible pricing strategy.

I've truly been impressed with Articulate in all facets. From their thoughtful software design to their support systems for designers–these folks do it right. The software is easy enough for a first-time designer, but also has enough advanced features to keep a seasoned designer intrigued and offer the tools they need to create exceptional courses.

I has used Captivate for some time, so when I initially made the switch (expanded actually) to Articulate I was apprehensive at first – as it can be when learning anything new.

However I found it quite straight forward to get the hang of. One of the strongest points is that It is so much easier to produce great looking e learning content. I feel this is important because it makes it more inviting for users meaning they spend more time learning ans less time questioning.

Customer support is excellent and there is a strong active network of experienced pro's to draw from.

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on Articulate 360 and using the new features like rise which seem like it will speed up work flow.

Out of all of the e-learning authoring tool companies out there, Articulate regularly outperforms the competition. No other company has a more evident dedication to their base of users and the end-users; our clients and their learners. Articulate offers the most intuitive and user-friendly authoring tools, and continues to elevate the field with new releases like Articulate 360. Perhaps the best part is the comprehensive level of support that is offered by Articulate staff and the user-base in the E-Learning Heroes Community鈥攖here simply is no better option out there for product support and opportunities to further one's skills in the Instructional Design and E-Learning development fields.

I love the community that comes with using this tool. It's easy to use, but when you do have a question, a huge user community is there to help you out. Plus they offer free templates and resources all the time.

I've been doing learning development for several years. I've used many different tools from authorware to captivate to flash. Articulate has some of the best products I've ever used. They are easy to learn, but can do soo much more than you realize at the beginning. There always seems to be more tip learn. I love it. There support is great. My pc at work had died. They were ablebto get me going on my new machine in less than one day. I barely had to stop working. Great products. Great people.

With each update and release Articulate learns, grows, and surprises! Articulate 360 is the best yet! Not only have they improved ease of use, but now they include everything you need to create, review, and design incredible learning experiences.
The online content library contains a nice variety of assets to use. As always, the Articulate community has great tutorials and challenges. The addition of being able to view your creation in different modes…PC, tablet, mobile..is so helpful! The review software simplifies customer and SME review process which ultimately makes them much happier! Thank you, thank you, thank you Articulate! Job well done.

There might not be a ton of differences between Storyline 2 and Storyline 360 – but the differences that are there really make an impact.

I LOVE being able to preview what my course will look like on a mobile device – and I don't even have to worry about moving the menu or adjusting my design since the software does it for me!

I also love having access to the library of templates and course elements – it speeds up my development time, and they're easy to access right within the software.

I've been using Rise for some of our more simple courses, and I love the ease of use. I do wish there were a few additional "customization" features, like being able to center an image or text.

Overall, I'm very pleased with Articulate 360, and would recommend it to anyone.

I have used various e-Learning, video capture, presentation, and resource tools in the past. Those include Captivate, Lectora, Snagit, PowerPoint, and Elearning Brothers, etc. What I found is that I had to go from place to place to accomplish what I needed, often having to memorize several logins and/or buy expensive and hard to use software. Along comes Articulate with Storyline, Replay, Elearning Heroes and now Articulate 360 where I can now access all of their best tools in one place with additional features such as Rise that lets you create intuitive and responsive learning web pages. Articulate even has their own content library for access to high resolution photography of characters to use in my e-Learning creation.

My biggest complaint about being a training developer is that I have too many tools to use. Articulate thought of everything because they asked users and created a resource that meets ALL of an instructional designer's needs. That's my biggest vote in favor of Articulate, they ask what designers need and then they deliver – big time. I've never seen a software developer commit so much to serve their customers. That makes Articulate exceptional and that translates to the software and services that they make available to anyone, from a simple web login. I am continually surprised at their attention to detail and commitment to raising the bar on providing tools for developers.

Articulate provides a bit more than most companies when it comes to its products. The products are great for the industry of eLearning, of course, no product is perfect, but they have established a great success in providing products that are quick to pick up and advanced as you get more acclimated. I think some of the interfaces could be lifted for usability purposes and efficiencies when it comes to menu items that are so often nested within menus. Overall Articulate provides great services and products for their customers along with a great community of support and inspiration.

I've been authoring online courses and tutorials for almost 10 years and have a choice about which tools to use. Storyline 2 is my "Go To" and is the sole tool I use.

It
* is easy to learn
* is intuitive
* offers a tremendous amount of flexibility
* gives me all that I need to produce high-quality, interactive products that have changed our learning landscape.

I would highly recommend it!

I have been an Articulate user for the past 5 years and absolutely love both Studio and Storyline 2 and cannot wait to get rolling with 360. One of the many amazing things you get with Articulate purchase is the support with the Articulate Community.

I'm pretty excited about the set of tools in Articulate 360. Some nice new features in Storyline, including the dial interaction. The real star is Rise, though, for a trouble-free responsive solution. The output looks very professional and the basic interactivity options are there. Looking forward to how this tool will evolve and provide even more functionality. I plan to build many job aids with this tool. Also, really like the Articulate Review tool where reviewers/SMEs can comment on Storyline output screen-by-screen, similar to Google doc functionality. Awesome way to keep track of change requests. Not sure I will use Studio, and am hoping that Articulate will offer more of an 'a la carte' approach to their subscriptions. For now, though, am very happy overall and highly recommend to other instructional designers who need to wear the many hats of training/education design and development.

A brilliant eLearning authoring tool that's easy to pick up and use – even if you have limited techy skills. Publishes automatically to SCORM, and is cross-platform ready with loads of built in features meaning you don't need to understand coding, HTML, flash etc to be able to produce great, engaging learning.
THe support is amazing with elearningheroes.com and fast response to any queries. It's also well-priced against its competitors
