We have always used Atchley Heat and Air and recommended them in the past. NEVER AGAIN after the experience we have had this year. It all started when they came out for our summer "tune up". Initially I was grateful that they were coming out as my thermostat had bit the dust and was in need of replacement. They charged 180 bucks for their CHEAPEST thermostat, but hey I was okay with that because they installed it. Well next thing I know they are telling me that my outside unit needs a board and trying to upsell me to a new unit, 700 bucks Vs. 8000, I decided to replace the board. Keep in mind they had to order the part and my AC was working with the old board. That brings us to today. I get a call from Atchley and am told that my board is in and they asked if I wanted to schedule an install. I told them that would be fine and scheduled for 3pm this afternoon. After TWO HOURS of them being here, I am told that they accidentally crossed a wire and fried my inside board, and they can't get the part until Monday. So no AC or Heat for the weekend. But Wait There's more… Caleb from Atchley proceeds to tell me that what happened is that they couldn't get the correct board for my outside unit, so they were trying to wire up a generic board. Well boys are girls, had I known all that hot mess, I would have told them to leave well enough alone, but NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME. So the moral of the story is 1. Dont buy into the hype that Atchley wont try to upsell you, because thats a straight up lie. 2 If you are gonna roll the dice on Atchley, make sure that you tell them not to send Caleb as your technician. He was unprepared and seemed unknowledgeable. So in short. Atchley has turned a 10 year plus customer who used to reccomend them to anyone into a FORMER customer who wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
