When I first started out in the Smokey world of BBQ, I knew if I wanted the best results, I would have to use the best equipment, produce and listen to good advice from experienced BBQ folks.
That was over 40 years ago and my then original choice by a mile was 鈥淲eber鈥? I have owned many models both gas and charcoal and only Weber鈥檚. During lockdown I decided to have some fun and bought a Webber Portable Smokey Joe Premium in the sure knowledge that Weber were 鈥淜ing鈥? and I was going to enjoy everything about this purchase.
Oh my goodness, what a shock. I can only assume that if the Board of Directors at Weber were aware that a saboteur was at work destroying their reputation and lifetime achievement for quality by producing such an inferior and defective BBQ that certainly does not warrant the name 鈥淲eber鈥? they would be as upset and angry as I am.
So what are some of the problems, well the grill plate does not fit but wobbles, the enamel covering fractures when applying the lid handle and makes for serious metal fragment splinters to the hands and feet that would require a tetanus injection!!!!
As for Weber鈥檚 customer relations dept, I can鈥檛 understand (my assumption) why Weber would remove all the talented and highly trained staff with others that clearly have little or no knowledge of Weber products. I can only assume they are part of an exciting apprenticeship programme, so Weber please get your training underway, because my experience has left me with the distinct impression, that you could not care less about my complaint or the fact I had been a loyal customer for 40 years!!!!!!!!! You have told me to accept the BBQ as you are not interested in putting the defects right.
Wow-what a way to destroy a business!!!!!!!!!!
So, one success then, Weber you are dumped. Just look at the competition, keep this up and your going to be the next Nokia or blackberry.
So in Conclusion and as far as my experience is concerned, I can only assume that you have forgotten your founding principles and vision of Quality and reliability.
In my eyes, you have fallen far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
