Spent two days trying to open an account online. No success, got stuck every-time. Tried to call an ENGLISH speaking customer relations (sic) rep. They promised to call back. Never did. Then I read a selection of reviews on Trustpilot. Quickly decided stay away and not touch this bank with a bargepole. Thank you people for warning me!

Very disappointed in the switching service, opened the account online on the 9th November and was told that the account would be switched by the 23rd December. The directions state that the customer doesn鈥檛 have to do anything! No money has been transferred from our Sabadell account to bbva and our Sabadell account has not been closed. Every time we call bbva customer service they have no English speaking agents. Poor service for an international bank.

I initially thought that BBVA were very good, but they seem to have gone downhill fast. My husband and I have a joint account. I recently changed the address on our account, but as I'd gone in alone it turned out that they hadn't changed that of my husband. I tried to change it by phone, and couldn't. I tried to change it online, and couldn't. So I went into my local branch and got into the queue for the desk. When it came to my turn I was told that the desks were for business accounts only. Having waited quite a while, I left and returned today. This time getting a ticket for the queue for the tills. When my turn came the lady at the till (the same one who'd previously told me that the desks were for business accounts only) told me that she couldn't do it at the till so I'd have to queue again to reach a desk. This bank claims that both English and Spanish are spoken, but in fact very few staff can speak any English, and the supposedly English information on the website can only be described as pigeon English. Add to this the fact that during the pandemic they have neither an email nor chat, nor a phone facility and you can understand why I've given only one star.

WORST SERVICE EVER; After the online account registration did not work proper and put the wrong address, I immediately wrote an email to their services, providing the right address, where they should have send a new credit card.After 2 weeks waiting I call them and they say, that they can not change my address, even if they received an email, so they just send it to a wrong one, with all personal datas and details!!! Its ILLIGAL WHAT THEY DOING!!!

The worst bank I ever dealt with ??garbage, I was a victim of a fraudulent check sent to me from a scam artist in regards to a job online. I sent the proff that I was told to do by the customer service representative of bbva. They didn't take it into consideration I was a victim an closed my account, I couldn't get a legit reason either. BASICALLY THEY ARE NOT FOR ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES.

Just a question about the ability of Trustpilot to have any affect on these poor performers.
BBVA has so many bad reviews but no comments that I see from their side.
Does that reinforce the suggestion that they dont care or that Trustpilot isn't the media for affect.
Hopefully something might change in BBVA……but I doubt it

Absolutely shocking, not sure how they run a business…….

Try phoning from Australia numerous times, never a English translator on the other end, so always end up frustrated and getting cut off. So over it now, going to sell appartments and close account, but!!
please can someone contact us urgently In ENGLISH so we can get our account sorted!! as stopped paying our direct debits without advising us!! When we have money in our account!

And again this morning I was charged a further 87鈧?for interest and commission. No warning, no explanation. Went to my branch, the very unhelpful woman who saw me said that these charges aren鈥檛 written on my contract and they are made up by the people in the Madrid head office. No apologies, no help or advice, just that we had to make a claim to head office. Unbelievable! BBVA are thieves and rotten to the core!

BBVA Bank.
A bank that does not respond to internet scams.
Despite several attempts to get help from them to help me, they did not rule on my miles (Spain). At the Huved office I only got several answers but no solution to the problem. They took responsibility for their department in Spain, and then hid behind private polycy for their customers. After several attempts to contact them by email no response from BBVA Spain. So my judgment is poor response, does not answer emails. So it is only profits that govern this bank.

Terrible people withholding our legal inheritence

They do everything possible not to pay us money our father left in the bank before death..

They are so sleezy that do every trick in the book not to pay my sisters and my inheritence even after a judge and notory have declared it legally ours..

A company that treats its dead clients this way should never be trusted.

As lowlife and crooked as you can get..

They simply ignore are petitions and never answer are questions..

Incredible. Think twice about placing money in this bank if you hace children.

If you American double watch out. They seem to be taking advantage of the fact that my sisters are USA citizens..

Utter s**t.
They have changed my terms without any notification when I stopped receiving "nomina" (salaries) in my account. To use an overdrafrt facility that I have never requested, they wanted to sell me insurance services I was not interested at all.
Cherry on the cake: a charge of 140 euros in my account for new terms in my account I have never agreed upon.
This way of conducting business is highly questionable.
I am thinking about contacting the Financial Conduct Authority or alternative body to flag these activities

Very 20th century procedures with physical presence required, security procedures that close your access without notification of any kind, etc. Very costly for international and multicurrency transactions.

In conclusion: Poor – I certainly have had an inadequate experience with a lot of friction

I have had reservations about banking with BBVA for some time after the ATM in branch swallowed up 20 euros of my money last year but it was never returned to me. On Friday 29th March 2019, the same thing happened except this time is was 170 euros and it was at 9.30pm. I panicked, issued many threats and basically distrusted BBVA to do the right thing. I am delighted to say, the money is back on my Account and I am so very grateful that both head office and branch have sorted this for me. Anyone doubting the efficiency of this Bank, please do not. I would recommend this bank and the Rojales branch to anyone. Thank you BBVA for your help. Anita Mccarthy PS) The online chat service is excellent.

BBVA SEGUROS: I have never had such a bad insurance. It is even more expensive than the others! We await the call of the technicians from at least 6 weeks. Meanwhile, the infiltration in the wall is bigger every day. We contact, call, send complaints but nothing apart from "they will call you" I wonder why I pay for insurance like this…I will solve this problem and then change…

The worst service ever. A lot of confusion in all departments. Basically they do not get any proper training and they don t know what they say or do, providing you always with the wrong information.
I will close my account with them very soon.

BBVA Portugal. These wise guys are something else, last year they introduced a monthly "maintenance" fee, I'd like to know what maintenance my account requires. Also the insurance premiums go up nearly every year, not by a little either. I used to be able to call them or send an email to re-evaluate my insurance premiums for my mortgage every year but now they want an original copy of a letter from you. I thought the human race was moving forward… not at BBVA! I will do my best to leave these clowns as soon as possible.

Worst customer service ever!
I had to call about 20 times (in one day)! to have an English speaker.
The answer you get is either "call back in ten 10mins" or simply hang up.
Impolite, unprofessional, not caring, useless.
I finally got an english speaker in the evening, who could reply to my demand (closing my bank account). She was going to do it without explaining fees, or letting me withdraw whatever was left on my account.
Advice: DO NOT open an account with BBVA.

The most useless and impolite customer service ever experience for a bank. I had a problem with my credit cards (they are all blocked!) because of a missing information in their system and they couldn't help me as I need to go to a branch in person. I LIVE ABROAD and I decided to keep my bank accounts in Spain and when I asked for a solution they told me there is NO solution excepting calling the branch. I told them the branch hasn't answered to the phone for days and the reply was " I can't do anything about that, you need to keep on calling and calling until when hopefully they will answer"….unbelievable for such a brand BBVA!

I asked specifically when I chose to open an account with them if there where any charges for international transfers. They said no several times in person. Now, many months later and with many transfers behind me I realize that Ive been paying 20 (!!!??) euros per transfer in my favor. Im chaning bank as soon as I can.
All other services works like a charm, but this is unforgivable. In total this amounts to 300 euros over a year..

To withdrawal money outside EU they charged me a total of about 0,7% (while on the statement is written 3%)
– To withdraw 200 eur I had to pay 4,5% + 9 euro fix fee –

The details for each transaction are not clear and it's hard to find out what each transaction was, even if they call the customer service they will not give you those informations.

Customer support is not really friendly neither competent, they were continuously stating that I was charged just the 3%
