Birmingham Turf-topsoil

I would have given this 0 stars if I could have. Ordered their 鈥渙rganic鈥?border mix topsoil. Absolutely AWFUL. I wish I had checked these reviews before I ordered. IGNOR positive reviews – obviously false. The soil was full of glass shards, electrical wire, plaster, silicone etc – basically BUILDER鈥橲 RUBBLE crushed down. The top of the bags had been mixed with some compost to disguise the rest of the awful stuff. Left message on their website – no response, tried to ring – no answer. These people are the same as BROMSGROVE turf-topsoil. They basically fly tipped on my drive and charged me for the privilege.

Only giving a 1 as no choice for 0 STAR. Ordered for a delivery which on email stated delivery due next day. It never came, rang the company who stated it would be the next day. Called them on the morning to be told it would be here before 12noon. Needless to say it never arrived. Waste of time AVOID!!!

Awful service. On the day the turf was due to arrive I called to confirm and see if they had an estimate on delivery time – 鈥淚鈥檒l get back to you鈥? Never did. So I called back 4 hours later, 鈥渋t鈥檚 in transit, I鈥檒l get the delivery guy to call鈥? But the delivery driver never called, and the turf didn鈥檛 show up. The 鈥渉elpline鈥? online stated as being available 8am-8pm and staffed by friendly well trained staff, was not available after 5pm and even the calls during the day were handled by unfriendly, poorly trained staff given their rough manner, terrible customer service and, to be plain, downright lies. Wish I had done a google check first to see these reviews and only want to add mine in to warn others off being disappointed as we, and countless others, have been.

READ the reviews and ignore the ones that are good. This guys standard topsoil is FULL of glass, porcelain chip, plastic…you name it. Absolutely awful………

Very rude and arrogant person. Ordered turf and he ddnt bother to turn up. Had to chase him up and then he has the nerve to have a go at me. Genuinely feel this guy has issues and needs professional help!

Ordered on the website. Didn't turn up. Didn't answer the phone (either landline or mobile). Should have checked first, a quick google finds them "featured" on Watchdog!

What a waste of space. Ordered turf – never arrived. Chased the office and was told the driver would call – never bothered. Rang again, but no answer. Tried using them about a year ago with the same useless result (I should know better). I can only assume the positive reviews on here are from friends and family. Avoid at all costs.

The guy turned up to the customers house where we was doing a job for and was very rude and arrogant towards me for no reason, moaning about him delivering to a one way street bla bla.. the turf he delivered was really dry and had moss growing in it, we laid it anyway a few days later the customer called to say the turf had gone brown on the edges despite a good watering as recommended by us, I鈥檝e tried to call and contact midland turf by WhatsApp to say the customer wants the rolls replaced and he reads the messages and then blocks me, what kind of joke is this man, his service is absolutely terrible and I wished I鈥檇 read the other reviews beforehand, he needs reporting to trading standards

If I could give 0 stars I would. Placed an order on the 17th for delivery of turf on the 23rd. Had confirmation email… Great. Tried to contact day before delivery to confirm. No reply. Email also bounced back.

Deliver date came and went. Noone answering either landline or mobile. Just a voice message telling you everying is on the website etc.

Called this morning first thing, managed to speak to someone who said he would find out what happened and call me back. Guess what..no call lol. Left voicemail, but no call back.

I can't comment on the quality of the turf as I haven't received it, but in terms of customer service they are p*ss poor. Will source my turf from somewhere else now. If they ever turn up they will simply be turned away.

I ordered turf on Tuesday morning delivered next day. Really good price for the turf. Excellent delivery by a very friendly driver. I have to say the quality of the turf delivered was really really good better then what I expected. I ordered standard turf and the turf delivered was definitely premium quality. It was so fresh and green when I laid the turf down it looked really good. I was so impressed with the quality of the turf. This company I would highly recommend to anyone looking For good priced and excellent quality turf with a quick delivery service. Definitely 5 star quality and service. Thank you

Not even worthy of 1 star..ordered turf waited in all day for delivery..when I contacted them it was an automated message to say they were waiting on a part to be replaced on a machine so couldn鈥檛 lift grass(no call to inform customers of this) i called the following morning(as told to on the message) to say I still wanted the turf only to be met by an extremely rude man(which I now now to be Terry) after Investigating to see what reviews the company had and came across the article written by watchdog Amongst awful reviews(if only I had seen this before ordering) all I asked was when would I be expecting delivery as I understand there would be a backlog now he asked me nothing about my order and was rude and obnoxious telling me he had travelled 14 hours for the part and that He would call me back how I don鈥檛 know?? As he hadn鈥檛 asked any of my details then said 鈥淚 would get the turf when I get it and hung up鈥?I wouldn鈥檛 except it or pay for the turf even if it turned up now!! He dosnt deserve the business..WOULD DEFINITELY READ THE WATCHDOG REPORT AND REVIEWS!! AVOID!!!!!!

I don't understand why the bad reviewes. I ordered my soil at 8 pm and had it the next day at 5pm.

I鈥檝e bought topsoil three times from this company if the product wasn鈥檛 good I wouldn鈥檛 have bought a second time

We have recently had several orders of top soil and have been happy with the service and the soil.
During lockdown they were one of the few companies that were still delivering.
The bags were not 100% perfect but we removed a few stones and weeds as we transferred the soil. The soil itself was excellent and much better than some we purchased a few years ago from another company. Friendly service and helpfully phoned ahead to give an idea of delivery time.
I feel with the Trust Pilot reviews that people who are reasonably satisfied don鈥檛 bother writing, leaving the highly opinionated people to be allowed to bring the ratings down. I do not think the company should be rated so low and I would order again. Good price and friendly service.

We placed an order with this company as their website looked good, the price was competitive and most importantly they were able to give us a delivery slot for the Monday , when we placed an online order on the Saturday. Everywhere else we had looked ; the delivery would take 10-14 days. On the Monday morning, we read Trustpilots reviews and were very concerned. So much so that we rang to cancel the order. We were told that it was already on the way, so we agreed we would check the turf and soil on delivery and decide what to do. 5 hours later, the delivery arrived and they were friendly and showed us various pieces of turf. It was a hot day and 1pm by this time. The turf looked a bit dry but we felt that was expected for the weather. They assured us it was only taken up that morning. There was no issues with the soil – in a large bag, there were only a few bits that needed to be removed but it seemed good quality. We were novices at laying turf and in retrospect should have selected the best ones to lay first as we had a few left over. Most of the turf was great – there were 4/30 that were a bit too brown / dry.. overall looks good and we are pleased with this company鈥檚 service. We just wished that we hadn鈥檛 laid down the dry ones right at the beginning. It was only once we were halfway through that we realised we could be It鈥檚 also pay on delivery so you can have some security that if you do not like the goods you are being delivered you could reject them… though I鈥檓 not sure if that would have been easy to do unless it was clearly bad goods. Overall, we are happy with the experience and appreciate that the company also understood why we had rang to cancel after reading some of the awful reviews. We felt we should also give them a review to balance things out as people tend to give negative reviews but forget to give reviews when things go well.

That should be a zero . Ordered premium topsoil and had compost delivered. When I contacted company I was told " madam you don't know anything about topsoil, what we delivered was perfect to lay turf on" well I tell you what, I know the difference between topsoil and compost. God knows where they got it from it was full of wood and cardboard and bits of turf????..feel like we were robbed..
This company should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off honest working folk.
Will be reporting to HMRC for a start…I should know better than to do a cash only tra帽saction.

I read the reviews after my purchase and have to say I'm quite surprised. Had the standard topsoil and premium grass and can't complain. I'm not an avid gardener but all seems fine to me. Great service too with quick delivery at a good price

These are RIP.off merchants.ordered some supreme soil.spent the weekend putting it down.
Wasnt till I watered it realised it was full.of glass and ceramic even found a old xmas light.
Was told by a gardener they get there stuff from landfill and skips or anything going.ripped me off for 拢80.convienient how they give no receipts.

Terrible (premium) turf full of moss and weeds. Delivered all dried out and will have years of ongoing work to bring it up to anywhere near a reasonable standard.

The premium border mix topsoil was full of glass, broken tiles, gloves and even half of a mug.

They closed down the day after delivery so they probably ripped a lot of people off over the weekend and ran for the hills under one of their many business names

Our garden is on two levels so I ordered the second batch from Turf World and it was like carpet, thick lush green without a weed in sight, and the topsoil was fantastic. Unfortunately its made the top level of our garden look even worse off these cowboys.

Avoild at all cost, this guy needs to be locked up for the long history of ripping people off.

There should be a minus star rating on this service . I can鈥檛 believe I did not read the reviews before ordering- I am normally more switched on- but I blame the extra Gin & Tonics during this pandemic!!!
After placing an order for the 鈥淧remium Grass鈥?and 鈥渢op-soil鈥? I had a phone call fairly quickly and was told delivery will be made next day. I was well chuffed with the speed of service. All Turf was hand balled individually onto the public footpath in front of my drive (not even a pallet)!!! It was a large order so getting them to the back of the house wasn鈥檛 a 5 minute job. When I came back from work and looked at the pile of what I thought was grass I was instantly drawn to the dry looking soil the turf was attached to. It was as dry as a bone. The first roll I opened up practically fell apart in my hands. I checked a few more- the quality was shocking, truly shocking. If this was a premium turf then I dread to think of the poor buggers who order standard turf. The top soil on first appearance looked ok at the top of the bag, but as you start digging down then you find all sorts. Plastic bags, Brocken crockery, huge clumps of weeds, plastic cups…… shocking!!!
I had spent weeks during lockdown landscaping the back garden for the kids to have a grass area to play on…. the finishing touch (the easy bit) was just putting down a lawn. I was about 30 rolls short so I went to a local landscaping yard and paid the same 拢3.00 per roll, the difference was unbelievable. Side by side the 2 types of turf were shockingly differed in quality. It was not a roll of weeds and moss, and dry grass (probably dried grass, can鈥檛 quite tell). I am gutted I used this company for my turf. I keep telling myself- it鈥檚 just grass, don鈥檛 worry, I can treat it and look after it blah blah blah, but in reality I have been ripped off. If I was home during delivery I would not have accepted, I鈥檓 no turf expert but what got delivered wasn鈥檛 premium turf.
Also, the rolls were not even the same depth, which meant that even when rolled onto a nice flat bed of topsoil the lawn looks like it was laid by a 3 year old child!!
I spent several hundred pounds with this company and will have to spend lots more trying to turn a lawn full of weeds and moss into grass. How is this company still trading? Why haven鈥檛 they been outed by trading standards? Or even a rogue traders documentary?
These guys need to find something else to do as the turf industry is not for them. I wish I could post pictures of the lawn to really show the poor quality of the turf. After reading the other reviews I see little point in speaking to the company as I鈥檓 pretty sure I will be banging my head against a brick wall. I truly believe that the low price of the top soil persuades customers to go with this company. I am not one for trying to stop a company making an honest living, but this is dishonest and they shouldn鈥檛 be doing it.

Second weekend and still nothing. No contact, you don't answer your phone but in reading the other reviews in relieved you couldn't be bothered !

Absolutely shocking. I ordered a week ago. They haven't answered their phone all week. It was supposed to come yesterday. After reading all these reviews, I'm just pleased they didn't bother to turn up !

DO NOT BUY! Never written a review before and this is my first but have to warn others. The worse service and the most disgraceful telephone call I have ever experienced. When I called to ask a query of my order and simply ask when I will receive it I got pure aggression and was told they didnt want my order anymore. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! The person on the otherside also said something in his own language at the end and put the phone down. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! Unbelievable when you have human beings in todays age that think they can talk to you like this and then have a company that allow this to continue. The reviews are right DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

DO not buy from this company the turf is manly moss and by the looks of it they have four wed sites and have been on rouge traders (Terry Jacobs).
I have Found out the hard way rubbish turf and the rude customer service you wont get a exchange or refund don't waste your money.
