I've been looking at an available website address for months now. I called this joke of a company and foolishly told them the name I wanted. Suddenly, the address was no longer available and this company could sell it to me for around $5,000. What a scam. Get a real career and stop trying to rip people off!

I picked a domain for my business which was owned by BuyDomains, but I was very afraid after seeing the bad reviews in TrustPilot and several scam reports I got over searching Google. But later the support person told me that it's owned by Endurance International Group, which also owns several other big domain hosting companies. After verifying that, I paid for the domain and the support guy was cool enough to transfer the domain to me almost immediately. I waited for my domain transfer to NameCheap before I write the review here. I think anyone can buy domains from this site without worries, but you need to have some bargains over price. 😉

Like all of the other reviews. Rip off company. Buy domains they don鈥檛 even need for pence and sell for 拢2k +. It鈥檚 people鈥檚 livelihoods their affecting.

Confirming what others have said. This business snatches up a barely lapsed domain name and attempts to sell it back to the original owner for exorbitant prices. Scum. Some legal loophole allows them to make a living on unethical extortion. In my case, I am allowing them to keep the web address name rather than support their lifestyle of kicking people when they're already down.

Do not give this company money, period.

They're domain squatters, snapping up expired/lapsed domains purely for the purposes of selling them on – usually back to the owners, or to competing businesses, and pricing themselves just below the cost of suing their bad-faith registering asses under the ACPA – which is only of use to Americans anyway. One of the last bastions of low-ethics behaviour on the internet, they're also monumentally bad as a service provider; plus, would you ever let your domain registered with them expire, knowing they'll try and sell it back to you for at least $1,144?

Avoid like the plague.

This company is a fraud! They must be shut down! it's not possible that they can legally buy domains that they actually don't need and resell them at ridicously higher prices! Don't buy anything from these SCAMMERS!

Domain squatters offering ridiculously high prices for domains. Not good for start up businesses, do not deal with these people!

If they get not trough they argue with GoDaddy although they鈥檙e setting the prices on GoDaddy. Also they get unfriendly, if customer is not willing to pay totally overestimated domain prices by no clear business reason. They also mix brand values with domain values and try to get a price for not used domains like for well situated brands. What a shame! They must work on their way how they deal with customers.

These idiots are demanding 2000x what I paid for my domain through a hosting reseller, before the reseller had issues with heir provider Heart Internet.

Paid $1000, 10 days with no response and then their site barely works. Had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes just for help.

I have contacted Buydomains.com two days ago to enquire about the price of an aftermarket domain.

They called me from the US and hung up before I could pick up the call. I traced the number on the Internet, and easily found it originated from buydomains.com.

Problem is, this missed calls thing seems to happen often (check the reverse phonebook on the WhoCallsMe site for 781-839-2845 and you will see this is not an isolated incident).

Basically, I am not doing business with a company that feels you are not worth the cost of a phone call. This is not serious business.

First, if you're buying domains you may find you don't have a choice. BuyDomains controls an awful lot of this business.
Second, if you can use someone else to buy your domain, ANYONE ELSE, do it. The service, if you can call it that, at BD is terrible. The young, obnoxious sales reps won't follow up or give you any service once you've paid for a domain. Their promise of 7-10 days turned into 3 weeks to infinity. They stink!
Keep in mind that even if the domain is registered anonymously, many registration privacy companies will automatically forward your email to the registered domain owner. So you can negotiate directly without these guys in the middle. They don't add value, just expense, hassle and frustration. Stay away!
