I just posted a review at Trust pilot too… Cardpool insisted that the verification number is wrong, and had the nerve to tell me to update my review. Well here is the proof!

This site is a complete fraud. They sell gift cards with zero balances, this is happened to many many people, including myself. They have no customer service so there's literally no recourse if you buy a bad card. Please do not buy from them, it's not worth it to try to save a few bucks.

Purchased a $100.00 Nordstrom gift card during June, 2020. Nordstrom refused the card, stating that it had been stolen. Cardpool brags about their 1 year gaurantee. Informed Cardpool of the problem, and they ignored Nordstrom's action and informed me that "maybe" I used the card and forgot about it. Incredible… Cardpool has never contacted Nordstrom, Cardpool responds to complaints with pre-written Emails that may not fit the issue at hand. They simply want you to go away. I have a good credit card company and I believe that they will get my refund.

This site sold me a giftcard with a $0 balance on it. When I contacted them, they sent a cropped screenshot, showing that $0 balance. They claimed I had used the card already. I went to the restaurant's site and put in my info and sent them the SAME screenshot, this time not cropped. That revealed that the card that had been sold to me weeks ago had not been used in 6 months, but somehow had a balance of $0. They never responded, but they sure did steal my money.
DO NOT use this site! It is a scam!
I am reporting them to the FTC and anywhere else that investigated cybercrime and fraud.

'Scam-sold cards with zero balance'. Customer service sucks, no refunds. Their 1 year guarantee just a junk. Now, I have to deal with my bank. What a waste of time. Stay far away from them.

I had good experience with them but not until this year. Sometime cards were delayed sometimes with zero balance(small amounts) but when I purchased 4 giftcards worth $500, I discovered that they are thief. Cards were emailed it to me after 10 weeks, after multiple inquiries on the status. I have attempted to to use one card shortly after I received it, and found out that the card had zero balance. I reached out to cardpool asked for replacement of one card or a partial refund, at that time other cards had balance on it, however I didn't use my other cards because I didn't know if cardpool would need to process a full refund on all cards or if they would process a partial refund (I was afraid that they would use that as an excuse and would deny a refund if other cards were used). They have not responded to multiple emails, they have not responded to calls. After 5 months of waiting I went back to check on the balance of my other cards, and found out that they had zero balance on it. Again reached out to Cardpool asking for a refund. Was told it was my problem. They clearly resold the same cards to other buyers. They are clearly known for this scam and that's how they're staying in business. Why are they still in business? Where are the authorities to close this shop?

I spent 2 months calling and emailing. I finally got a response from an overwhelmed person who apologized. I requested that the entire transaction be canceled and they complied. I would not use cardpool again but I was happy to get my cards back as it was a lot of money.

I thought that it was really good. I submitted a few target gift cards, and got amazon gift cards in return. They sent them to me within a day.

F*** these shady pieces of s***! I received a Best Buy e-gift card as a gift, tried to sell it to Cardpool. Cardpool then said that they had "an issue" with the code I gave them, so they couldn't buy the card from me. I thought oh well; at least I can still use the card at Best Buy. And guess what? When I went to Best Buy to try to use it; they told me there was no balance on it, and that the code had already been used. Long story short, Cardpool STOLE MY GIFT CARD. DO NOT TRUST THIS P.O.S. COMPANY. Only giving 1 star because 0 isn't an option.

I sent two physical cards, which were returned. I also submitted 4 Fandango Gift Certificates and a Darden Restaurant, which were not required to be mailed in and the amount was approved for payment, so I threw the papers/cards away.
Then I get a message saying that my transaction was canceled and they mailed back 2 of the cards. I've sent a message to see why I can't get paid for the other 5 – doubtful I will get a return message or resolution.
They don't even have a "help" section and my bad for not reading a review first. So far, I think Cardpool is a scam – buyer beware!

I sold a $25 red lobster gift card to cardpool in exchange for a $18.13 amazon gift card. I received cardpool's email with my gift card redemption code on June 11th and tried redeeming the code on June 15th. When I enter the code they gave me it says the card has already been redeemed.

I contacted customer service and sent them screenshots showing the "already redeemed" message and another screenshot showing my account was never credited. They responded by saying I was the only person who has the code. I told them that can't be true because I am the only one with access to my email, and that $18 is not worth lying about. They responded by saying my email could have been hacked and I should run an antivirus scan. This seems unlikely because I use a vpn and a web-based email server.

Furthermore, I also sent a screenshot that shows the code my amazon account has not redeemed a gift card in months. I understand that this does not "prove" that I (or someone I know) did not redeem the card. But, like I said, I would not lie to defraud a company let alone go to this amount of trouble for $18.

Bottom line is that this company took my gift card and did not even make an effort to correct the issue.

Stole about $75 of gift cards. Since I wasn't planning on using the cards I think I was a little too careless selling them….should have checked some reviews. Don't use them.

I purchased a $100 Lowe's gift card from cardpool as a Christmas gift for my in-laws. When they went to use it they were told there was no money on it. I should have checked the card before I gave it to them but I didn't because I trusted the company. That was my mistake. I contacted their customer service about it and had to send two emails to get a response which took over a week. They basically said that I must have used it and forgot and that they would not be giving me a refund. The card was empty when they sold it to me which tells me they either don't check them before selling them or an employee stole the number off of it before it was sold. Either way, cardpool sold me an empty gift card. Stay away from this company! The savings is not worth the shady business practices and terrible customer service! I will never be using this service again.

Cardpool claims a 1 year guarantee, but defrauded me out of $700 within 1 hour of buying iTunes giftcards. No call; no nothing. Clearly a case of internal theft. I'll whip them in 2 minutes in small claims court, which they are used to, but what an awful way to treat a good customer. Avoid Cardpool at all costs!

This is a fraud company. Please do not purchase or sell through this fraud company. I bought a gift card from them. After a few days when I checked the gift card balance, it is showing zero. I sent an email to them and inform about this. They simply said I only used that gift card there is no refund for my transaction. After that, I called BestBuy Customer support and enquired where that gift card is used. I got transaction details from bestbuy and send to cardpool. Still there is no refund this fraud company.

Over 3 months after I listed several gift cards, still waiting for them to return one card that they claim was invalid or had no value (which is not true), and they cancelled what they owed me for the "good" cards. Canned responses from customer service as well as replies that made no sense in terms of what I was waiting for. At one point, they claimed that the card had been returned to me as of a date that was over 4 weeks in the past, claiming that it was taking 4-6 weeks for returned cards to be received. Well past the 6 week mark now and still no card. While I had very good experiences with other gift card buying services, this one was beyond disappointing. I will not ever do business with them again and would discourage others from doing so.

I've purchased 3 different physical gift cards and have received them within a few days – one for a convenience store, one for a fast food place and one for a casual dining restaurant. They have all been of the value promised with no problem redeeming them. While the discount is not great, I'm happy to save a few dollars on places I frequent. The one I used today was coupled with a $10 off $25 newspaper restaurant coupon. $10 plus $2.50 off – half price total!. Haven't sold any gift cards but purchasing experience has been fine.

Edit – Today (March 3rd, 2020), coincidentally, I received my card back in the mail. The interesting part of it is it came back in the very same envelope with the same pre-printed form. Cardpool merely wrote on the form that you stick on the front of the envelope with "RTS" (Return to sender). It appears not to have been opened and they just sent it back on the Post Office's "dime". Obviously, I immediately checked the balance and it was all there. I am surprised. Guess I got lucky compared to most of the reviewers?

Would I ever deal with Cardpool again? Not at all.

I sure with I had checked the reviews on Cardpool before I dealt with them.
Sent in a Whole Foods card with $90 on it in mid January. Two week after they received it I received an email apologizing for the processing delay because of "the holidays". Sure, whatever. I received another email about 10 days later and they said they could not process it and would not go into why they couldn't and were sending the card back. Somewhat of a brusque reply. I rolled my eyes and figured the odds of Cardpool actually sending the card back AND having the $90 that was available on the card, was slim to none. I was right… never have received the card back. The upper management at Cardpool can only go so long with stealing before it catches up to them.

I had 2 cards worth $100 each, I got both checks for $70 a piece for them. The checks both arrived 5 business days after I sold them. Very satisfied.

This entire process shouldn't take long. The physical mailing of the cards to cardpool should be most timely part of the process. Unfortunately, it was not. Receipt confirmation was sent to me within a reasonable amount of time, though a little on the long side, to tell me that they were going to notify me when it was processed.
I waited 3 weeks from mail-in date to inquire about the lack of timeliness. I received an automated response that told me the holiday-caused high volume and that it would take some time. Ok, I waited.
A week later I decided to call them to make sure my inquiry had even been read by a real person, the customer service rep told me that there was no priority given to my inquiry at all.
Then, after waiting 6 weeks, I received a very rude email from cardpool notifying me that they were sending my cards back to me so that I would no longer have to "exert patience".
Needless to say, I came here to leave this review after this outcome.
