i read the description
it was what I wanted and I bought
BUT on receipt the DVD drive was broken
THEY ARGUED THAT THEIR description had not referred to a DVD drive and thus too bad
I had to explain that they had sold by the products name and that implied the whole thing
Eventually they agreed to a return
i paid for the return
Eventually, after I chased them, they made the refund
I have yet to be refunded the cost of the return.
Would you do business with such a company ?

I wouldn't trust these guys one little bit!!!

The sent me a laptop which broke two weeks later and as I had given my old one away and was trying to run a business they wouldn't pay for the maintenance I had to get done to fix their problem!!

David replied with this "There is a standard process to repair or replace faulty laptops and we are unable to deviate from this unfortunately.

Perhaps the best way forward would be for you to return that laptop for a refund and source another laptop locally so that you can work today and over the weekend".

How about send out fully working computers!!

DO NOT USE!

Ordered two laptops for my kids. Made spec mistake on ordering and requested amendment. Team were very quick to get back and amend order. Arrived on time and on-spec. Decently-packaged and clean. No problems so far. Very pleased.

Very poor communication and costumer service. Given 2 stars, because at the end managed to get a full refund. It took a long email chain and all the legal background. Citizen Advice helped a lot, so if you've got any issues, turn to them.

I ordered a laptop, a week later I'm still getting emails offering additions even though I had indicated I did not want any. The laptop arrives late and is scratched and filthy which in the current climate is not good. I returned the laptop asking for a full refund and they charged me 10%. Any correspondence is via email and you will not get someone on the phone. The equipment is reasonable and at a good price but overall it is a terrible company from a service perspective dont use them.

Laptop sent was in a very poor condition. The company offers a refund with 14days. However ask for a 10% restock charge not mentioned at all under return policy. I had to pay to send it back so 拢13 pounds out of pocket but could have been much worst. I went through paypal buyer protection in the end and got a full refund. You try to give a small business a chance , almost got my fingers burnt on this one!!!

A rip off company, mistakes learnt, don鈥檛 buy from a company called cheap laptop company, read reviews before purchasing.
Returned item as not what was advertised, cost 拢13.50 postage and they kept 拢18:90 to put it back on their shelf to sell to another customer. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!
I gave it a one star rating as you cannot give zero, even that would have been too good for them.

Scam.
Honestly please don't purchase anything from them, they say theres no problem returning items but will make you get tracked delivery to return which cost me 拢20 and they are saying they take 10% for a restocking charge.
Honestly the worst company i've even had the displeasure of dealing with.

Update on my review from 3 data ago. I requested them to cancel my order and I suddenly got a response to my email to say they could not stop an order once processed and that my laptop had gone into overnight express delivery. This was at royal mail hours after I had cancelled. The laptop came and it was filthy and scratched. It looked like it had been picked out of a skip. It also had genuine windows 7 sticker & they added their own sticker for windows 10. A copy no doubt. I sent an email stating I wanted to return with immediate effect and that I had contacted the police who seemed very interested. I have also raised with my bank and paypal. I did get a return address in Oldham when registered address appears to be Ireland. Will await my full refund now

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!

I wish I had seen the other reviews to understand how awful the company is re: "customer service". Save yourself time and hassle by buying elsewhere. I purchased what I believed was a gaming laptop with an expectation for a full HD screen. When it turned out not to have one (confusion which they encourage by never displaying screen resolution in detailed descriptions, I decided to return it for a full refund after zero use. They refused to honour their 14 day 'no quibbles' returns policy and instead, insisted that I send the laptop back to them via recorded delivery at my cost, after which they would charge a 10% 'restocking fee'. I'll never purchase anything else from this company and I'd encourage any prospective buyers to go elsewhere!

The worst cowboy company I have ever known! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!!
We are in the middle of a world crisis!
They have taken my money, not provided ANY delivery updates despite trying to contact them via phone & email.
All I needed was an eta which they never confirmed despite paying for the express service.
I emailed a week ago to cancel the order with no response!
I wake up this morning to a ring on the doorbell and suddenly the laptop appears!
However, a week ago I tried to cancel the order because they were not replying.
They have suddenly emailed me just now in a threatening manner telling me they will not accept the laptop back under their terms and conditions – despite me copying their t's & c's which clearly state the following:

8.1 If the Customer purchases the Products using the Sellers website or telephone number, the Customer may cancel the Contract for any reason, but no later than 7 workings days after delivery of the Products.

Disgusting service at such a bad time!

I since discovered that this company goes by a few different names, including 'Refurbished Laptops Direct', and 'Bargain Laptops Online'.
I ordered this laptop on 22.11.2019, as a Christmas present for my daughter. She had about two weeks use out of it before it developed a fault.
I contacted the company and was given return details. The company's website states that returns will be processed within two weeks.
They have now had the laptop for five weeks now. The level of communication from the company has been very unsatisfactory, I have been provided with no progress updates, and any replies to my emails have been unhelpful; I was informed that the laptop will be back with me 'sometime next week' on 24.01.2020, and they have now stopped replying to my emails. I have also just been informed that my purchase was not covered by Paypal Buyer Protection either, so now I'm $249 down and I don't even have a broken laptop to show for it.

Please save yourself the hassle of buying anything from this site. They lied and did not stick to their own policy. I was advertised a 1TB laptop with a fast operating system built for gaming. When it arrived it was scratched and tatty. The system displayed 930GB and it was just slow and buggy. When I called the number on the site I was direct to their email through an automated machine. When I emailed they lied and tried to say the laptop does have 1TB but just displays incorrectly. Complete rubbish, they also refused to honour their 14 day 'no quibbles' returns policy which stated they would collect the laptop for free and provide a replacement or refund, whatever the reason. They instead tried to say I need to send it back to them via recorded delivery which I was to pay for and then provide 10% towards the cost of the laptop as a 'restocking fee'. These people are scam artists and I have reported them to the trading standards. I would encourage everyone affected by them to do the same.

Avoid this company like the plague! I ordered a dell laptop from them with windows 10 and paid for upgrade of McAfee anti virus! Laptop arrived very quickly but was totally rubbish! The keyboard was sticky and when I switched it on it wanted a registration number for the windows as it appeared to be loaded with a copy and not an original version! McAfee was not installed nor did I use the code to install! I emailed several times no reply! No one ever answers the phone! Eventually they supplied me with a return address insisting on a tracking number! No return walk-ins allowed even though the address is less than 3 miles from my home!i had to pay a courier to deliver it probably just around the corner! I have today received a full refund after threatening to report them to trading standards and lodge a complaint with PayPal! I have never dealt with such a scam company such as this! Please do not use this company!! If I could have given no stars then I would have!

I would never use this company again as they are totally fraudulent & don't honour their warranty. I shopped around as I had been scammed on my last laptop so I was adamant I wanted a twelve month warranty. The laptop arrived & the keyboard was dirty. Within 4 months there were 4 faults on it so I emailed them & asked them to sort it out under their warranty agreement. I never got a reply. I must have sent half a dozen emails & never received a reply to any of them. I tried ringing them & got the message that they would ring me back but they never did. I can't remember now what happened with that computer but I am not using it anymore. It's joined the other dead laptops in the graveyard that is my dead laptop cupboard. I've just bought an Acer Aspire through Laptops Direct & I am very happy with it.

Like many others I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing a 'refurbished' laptop from this company.

The bad points:
Laptop was very dirty, not even been cleaned let alone refurbished.
Display screen had many faults, flickering, black vertical lines during boot-up, yellow shadow/outline on any white images.
No webcam although advert said it would have one.
Something loose (as screw or something) rattling inside the laptop.
Microsoft Office not supplied although paid for.

The good points:
Laptop arrived in super quick time.
Called Support and explained the issues.
Support offered to send me a replacement laptop and MS Office 'key'
"No thanks, i'll have a full refund under the 14 day no quibble".
Received an e-mail within 5 minutes with a prepaid return label.
on-line tracking of parcel all the way to destination.
Full refund received within 7 days.

After ordering the upselling began quickly … Office , Antivirus etc.

Laptop took an age to arrive and when it did was incorrect specification.

Tried to use but had an end of life battery which continually shut down the machine ; service tag indicates it was originally registered in Sweden,

Had to return and DID receive a full refund but the delay, e-mail only communication etc was a great sense of frustration.

Hurt me and my business . avoid.

Prompt delivery, but it looked like a used computer, keyboard and surrounds were sticky and the USB ports we鈥檙e partially taped up. No paperwork or anything. No attempt to spruce up. It wasn鈥檛 cheap either. Still I hope it works ok – let鈥檚 see.

Unfortunately by the time you have read this it may be too late for most of you to avoid being scammed like me. Firstly the website for the Cheap Laptop Company is all very professional. They also go by other names; Mycheaplaptop, bargainlaptopsonline and grabalaptop. In hindsight the reviews on their website were self-approved and not independent as is the case Trust Pilot. After having purchased a DELL laptop and paid in Full I began to smell a rat the next Day when James 鈥淎KA Hafeez Ahmed鈥?emailed offering me 鈥淢icrosoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Outlook鈥?for a special price. I said 鈥渘o thanks鈥? Not to be put off James sent another personalised e-mail the following day asking 鈥淒o you want to add Virus Protection to your laptop for another special price鈥?br />

I knew I was sunk then as he clearly hadn鈥檛 got product I purchased and was playing for time. (Most likely he went looking in the nearest skip) The website was a giveaway in hindsight that there is always only one product remaining. It鈥檚 the act now or miss deal strategy. This guy James 鈥淎KA Hafeez Ahmed鈥?is good and knows how to push sales over the line. Take my advice, for another 拢50 you would buy a brand new laptop in a sale rather than the clapped junk these guys advertise.

You also get the following pop-up advert 鈥淕et a 拢10 discount on your next order today…Please Enter your email to get your discount code now.鈥?Yes I fell for this too and got a further 拢10 off the sales price of junk laptop. You want to trust what you see in front of you however the old saying is true, 鈥渋f it seems too good to be true it usually is! These guys don鈥檛 respond to e-mails except it relates to a sale! When you take the bait you are sunk! I reckon this company in its various reincarnations is making a small fortune. Trading Standards, PapPal, your Bank, Ombudsman and Solicitor are a waste of time for recourse. The only way to hurt these scammers is to notify HMRC which I have done. They fear HMRC as they can actually take money off them.

Thanks to Sarah who noted on 23/10/17
鈥淛ames who emails is actually Hafeez Ahmed and the business is registered at: Greengate Business Centre, 2 Greengate Street, Oldham, OL4 1FN. According to their tax return this year, he earns less than 拢100 and is exempt from tax. Strange because my laptop cost 拢275 – I say my – it didn't actually get delivered! 23/10/17鈥?br />

Don鈥檛 have anything to do with lining pockets of James AKA Hafeez Ahmed and purchasing from this SCAM outfit. Furthermore I would also fear these guys have the potential to put malignant software on these machines given their trustworthiness. Now imagine accessing your bank account using a laptop supplied by James AKA Hafeez Ahmed!!!

They create a fraudulent delivery references with a legitimate delivery company. When you input the reference all you get is no information available. After a week went by I contacted the delivery company and they confirmed a delivery reference had been created but no package was ever delivered to them. Another way James has of dragging things out and giving impression something is on its way.

After contacting these Cheap Laptop Company to cancel my order and demand full refund I received no response. I contacted PayPal who I must say were very helpful. They raised a dispute and have given company deadline to respond. I am awaiting on the outcome at present. Under no circumstances deal with this company as they are complete fraudsters. My mission is to teach James 鈥淎KA Hafeez Ahmed鈥?a very expensive lesson for being so dishonest. HMRC will be onto him for VAT and tax evasion. I have already had discussions with HMRC and they were delighted with information given prominence of this company online. I am also in process of highlighting this company to the Irish Revenue Commissioners as they have an Irish address linked to their Scam Website. Watch this space!
