Worst customer service! The people in the call center are rude and incompetent. This business is a monopoly and do not value their customers or feel the need to provide decent customer service. Appalling.

Two major issues with CL in 3 weeks, 1st issue my new bed was delivered 1 week late by a rude and aggressive driver.
2nd my 51" Samsung TV has apparently disappeared…retailer despatched but it never arrived. Driver claims he delivered it to a another house 5mins down the road, although no card was left through my letterbox to state this, and both my next door neighbours were home but did not see him..also the house he claims he delivered to says nothing was delivered. Only a complete idiot with no common sense and the IQ of a gnat would deliver such an expensive item to the wrong address!
Its so beyond stupid…the only logical explanation is he has stolen it.
Case opened with City-Link customer service for over 1 week and they are equally useless, no explanation or action taken against the driver!
They need to be closed down.

I don't even know where to begin to describe the sheer awfulness and ineptitude of this company…

My car is off the road awaiting a replacement part, which was despatched by the seller (in Northern Ireland) to me (in Scotland) via City Link at midday on Monday. He had paid for 48 hour delivery, and received a confirmation that it would arrive by Wednesday at the latest. When Wednesday came and went with no sign of the parcel, I contact City Link via e-mail to query this, and received a curt response from someone called (apparently) (name) (well named as the whole fiasco is a bloody commotion) stating that all parcels from N Ireland to Scotland take 3 days. When I queried why, that being the case, they had allowed the seller to purchase the 48 hour delivery option, the question was ignored, but they suggested I contact the seller for compensation!?! The final upshot of the conversation was that I would definitely receive the parcel by today (Thursday). Nope!

The tracking info on the website showed the parcel getting as far as arriving at the collection depot, then going no further. I phoned and was told initially that there was no trace of the parcel, followed by "…it's probably gone to Coventry in error." What?!! This was followed by reassurances that they will rectify the problem and get the parcel on its way to me tomorrow…quite a feat when they don't know for sure where it is!!

To say I'm outraged, furious and exasperated is underplaying it slightly. I'm now faced with the prospect of having no car to get me to work next week, all thanks to the staggering ineptitude of City Link.

I await the next chapter…

UPDATE: Well, it turns out that the parcel wasn't in Coventry after all…it hadn't got any further than Belfast! After a furious phone call, I was promised it would be prioritised and I would receive it the next day. It DID amazingly arrive the following day (Friday – a whole 4 days after it was posted by 48 hour service!), and I was astounded by the delivery man's parting shot: "I hope it hasn't been wrecked..we're not called *rude word* Link for nothing!"

If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what does!

The whole company is a joke they will damage you're goods on purpose. They damaged my parcel twice. The drivers at SHITY LINK are a joke they would do the door bell and run away the maximum time the driver would wait at the door is 3 seconds or 5 if your lucky.

What an awful, useless, incompetent firm. I wonder how they are still in business. 3 times I arranged for deliveries for next day delivery- 3 times they didn't turn up. They then admitted that the drivers hadn't even tried to pick up-GREAT- maybe they should sack the drivers!. Anyone can make a mistake- but 3 times? Won't be going back-once bitten, twice shy, three times- move to a better firm.

I would advise anybody not to use City-Link – especially in Bristol – it is incapable of delivering anything & it also fabricate untruths. I live about 6 miles from the City-Link Bristol depot, on a major road & City-Link cannot find my house. Its complaints procedure is not fit for anything other than the rubbish bin. Its MD – D. Smith – should be ashamed of himself managing such an inept business.
My story – I have waited in 3 days for a delivery, which I have now been told by City-Link's automated tracking system will now not be delivered as it has already made 3 unsuccessful attempts to deliver. Yet I have been at home waiting & I have not even received a calling card. But now City-Link is expecting me to go to the depot to pick-up my package – but I can't drive. I can't rearrange another delivery.
Despite emails & telephone calls by me, City-Link hasn't even the courtesy to acknowledge or respond to me.
This organisation should not be in business; DO NOT EVER USE IT.

Update: it appears that City-Link has managed to 'misplace' (by that they mean they've lost it) my package – it is 1.8m long by 100mm dia so it shouldn't be too difficult to find……………….
All the failed deliveries they were recording were lies because there was nothing to deliver in the first place. City-link also messed my supplier (an eBay trader) around by saying it was at the Bristol depot but when my supplier arrived to pick it up (after checking before making the journey that it was there) it was not to be found. Is City-Link showing any interest in sorting/resolving the issue? Of course it isn't.

A card put through my door 16th sept at 11am,1st thoughts -excellent I only ordered it sun 14th (Online), couldnt leave parcel, no-one to sign, I rang depot to reschedule next day,as like many other people work im home by 4,asked for it to be after 4pm city link couldnt gaurantee this, I asked if my parcel could be left in a safe place, I couldnt ask them it had to be the company Id bought the goods from (wilkinson), so I rang Wilkinson and they were very helpful and said they would ring city link and arrange this. I asked for the parcel to be left under the rabbit hutch. 17th- No parcel, I honestly thought that if the driver hadnt been able to get the parcel under the hutch he would have had the common sense to leave it by it. 18th – again no parcel I rang and asked what the problem was, the operator 'hung up on me'. By now Im telling the operator who I finally spoke to that they could keep my parcel and that the situation was ridiculous, and she rang the depot (whilst I was still on the phone) and said that a message had been left with the depot secretary to pass the message directly to the driver when he returned to the depot. 19th – same as the 18th, the problem I had is that I live about 75 miles from the depot in Shrewsbury, so told them that there was no way I was going up there to get my parcel. I rang Wilkinsons again on fri and said that if I didnt get my parcl delivered to me on sat 20th I was cancelling my order and wanted a refund. Fair play to the girl I spoke to she rang city link ant they assured her I would get my parcel on the 20th. I said that my garden was a safe place to leave my parcel. Sat 20th I nip out for no more than 30 mins and yes you've guessed it city link had posted a card through the door 'Sorry we misses you'!!! They'd left it next door as they said they needed a signature!!! I finally got my parcel but not under the instructions I had left. I will never order online from Wilkos again (which is a shame) as long as City link are there couriers. Absolute appalling service call themselves a delivery company, they need some lessons in communication!!!!!

Booked on website for collection the following day.

I Phoned at 2.00 pm the following day for an update "we collect up to 4.00 pm" I phone again at 5.00pm "driver is running late, will be with you by 6.15 – 6.30" I phone call centre at 6.30pm for an update – customer service closes at 6.00pm! I get an email at 6.55pm "failed collection person not in" – What a lie"

Make a complaint via their online form – no response 24 hours later.

Repeat paragraph one for day two of "driver is on his way" etc.

Main problem is not with call centre who seem a helpful bunch, it's with the Coventry depot who clearly can't cope with extra business since they shut their Coalville depot three months ago. Service used to be very good from Coalville.
Coventry don't answer their internal phones to customer services and when they do they lie.

Pathetic company, run by former Public Sector MD, could this be a reason?

I ordered an item through Amazon to be delivered by City link. I tried to reschedule a delivery. Their phone system is all automatic and to get to speak to a human being is almost impossible. I rescheduled a delivery for the 22nd of August. I took a day off work and waited for it. I called at 14pm and they said it had disappeared. Just gone missing! they took my details and said they would call back. They didn't. When I called them at 1930 the staff member said the package had been found earlier at 650pm and that I could either pick it up from the depot myself or they could redeliver on Tuesday. I said neither was an option. I felt not understood. When I tried to set a new delivery date for the following Saturday I was told something about the package being delivered on Tuesday but then taken back to the depot and redelivered on Saturday if I called to redeliver. It all sounded too complicated, so I have contacted the vendor for them to arrange it directly. One of the worst experiences I have had with a delivery service.

I RECENTLY SENT A BICYCLE VIA CITY LINK TO SOMEONE 90 MILES AWAY. WHEN THAT PERSON CONTACTED ME SO SHOW ME THE CONDITION OF THE BOX CONTAINING THE BIKE I COULD NOT BELEIVE IT.
IT LOOKED LIKE THE BOX HAD BEEN DRAGGED DOWN THE ROAD BEHIND THE LORRY AND THEN DRIVEN OVER BEFORE BEING THROWN IN A RIVER AND FISHED BACK OUT AGAIN. THAT PARTICULAR BOX (CALLED A BIKEGUARD) HAD SUCCESSFULLY TRANSPORTED ANOTHER BIKE HALFWAY ACROSS EUROPE WITHOUT A MARK. HOW CAN CITY LINK MANAGE TO DISPLAY SUCH INCOMPETENCE I WILL NOW MAKE IT A PRIORITY TO DISPLAY THEIR SERVICES TO ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS ANYONE WISHING TO SEE PHOTOS OF THE DAMAGE PLEASE EMAIL [email protected]

I had arranged a collection of a parcel to be sent up to Manchester. However when checking my emails, realized that it should have been sent out to Nottingham instead. Contacted City Link, via there live chat and spoken to someone called Adam. I explained, my predicament and he said he could get this redirected for me, so he asked for the new delivery details and contact no. within 2 mins he had this sorted for me and emailed me new labels to attach to my parcel. Adam was very helpful in getting this sorted for me. Thanks again Adam 🙂

Online chat team for City Link helped me with two problems, quickly and seem to genuinely want to help.

Thank you Adam for making it so easy for me to cancel a double order done accidentally. I was anxious with the double payment done but Adam sorted it all out for me inspite of the challenges of my computer going down a couple of times!

For some reason the driving on our route will try and deliver to a business address before eight in the morning. Presumably, they know that no one will be in the address at this time and so save themselves sometime,

When you finally get through to their customer support, they simple throw their hands in the air and say there is nothing they can do, they will try again tomorrow.

Will be careful not to order from any website using citylink again.

i arranged for a collection and delivery through the city link web page. The items were successfully delivered, but i had great difficulty in obtaining a proof of purchase. I eventually spoke on the live to chat to a guy called Adam, and after only a few minutes i had the information i required. Great work Adam and thanks a lot.

We bought something online and unfortunately it was delivered by city link when we were at work. We rang the number on their card and the number did not exist. We therefore used the net and rebooked the parcel for my husband to collect the following day. When he arrived (more than a 50 mile round trip). They told him they had put it back for redeliver the following day. Obviously, we were not in (we work) so now they refuse to redliver despite their website saying we could reschedule up to 11pm that day. We can't get hold of them (automatic service) but the chap at the depot told my husband he would have to come back again to collect. when my husband refused, the chap called his boss who told him they would redeliver today however when I tried to track the parcel again the website told me they would not redeliver because they had already delivered twice. I have had a similar issue before with these people so twice out of twice they have messed up. Suppliers please do not use them as they are rubbish and when things go wrong (which they always do) you can't speak to someone unless you drive miles to complain.

Placed an order Via City-Link to send a Apple
MacBook to a customer the live chat assistant guaranteed me everything would go smoothly however this was not true. Collection was due for the next day I waited in from 08.30am – 08.00pm and collection didn't take place I then got in contact with customer services and they tried making me out as a liar saying courier had been and tried to collect but no one was in however I had CCTV so city-link had to come clean . DONT USE CITY-LINK

Further to my previous review, I received my parcel 8 days after if was supposed to arrive. I was given 3 time delivery slots on 3 consecutive days and the goods finally arrived on the 3rd day but later than the allocated time. I complained by e-mail and am still waiting for an apology. I also tried to phone but was unable to speak to anyone – I just got an automated message.
Do not use this company. They do not care.

When my chairs finally did arrive, one was damaged and is having to be returned. It looks like it had been dragged around the depot, breaking the wrapping and thus ruining it. This is not acceptable in this day and age. There are much better companies out there who have an ethos of service.
