I bought the "Women's Convertible Boating Hat" in size S/M. It was huge. I assumed they had sent the Men's version of the hat by mistake. It turns out the hat is "unisex" and not a Women's hat at all. I asked for a refund and return since their description of the product was wrong. The refused to pay for the return shipping and charged me $8 to return it. FOR THEIR MISTAKE. Their customer service took weeks to reply. On Amazon, they do free returns, so it very strange that when buying directly through coolibar.com I get burned. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I had given my daughter in law a gift certificate from Coolibar鈥擨 had called them and paid by credit card over the phone. A year later my daughter in law had still not used it because when she tried to use it, they said they weren鈥檛 accepting gift certificates. Then Covid hit and they weren鈥檛 taking any calls. I waited until about a month ago and I got through on an email and received an answer saying no gift certificates, but there was a phone number on it so I called. Went round and round with the lady who thought I wanted to use a visa gift card. Finally got it through her head, but then she insisted I had to pay the WHOLE amount of the item and then the amount of the gift certificate would be credited back. I objected, but finally gave in so my daughter in law could at least get something! Hat was delivered 10 days ago, but still no credit on my bill!

Customer service sucks. When you try to return a product suddenly, you get disconnected on the phone, they claim they never received the product back or that it is in their 3 day return quarantine. But it has been almost a month!!!

There products are cheaply made and fall apart easily. I鈥檝e had a hat that literally was disintegrating and shirt that ripped. Another garbage product that鈥檚 not cheap.

This has got to be the most frustrting company to deal with when it comes to getting a refund. I made the mistake of purchasing for the first time on january 15th. I called right away to cancel my order because I ordered the wrong item and they told me I had to wait to receive my order and then send it back for a refund. I received my order January 22 and sent it back to sender the same day. Today is February 20th almost a month later and I have yet to get a refund. Everytime I call I keep getting the run around on how it takes 3 full weeks to recieve a refund. It's been 30 days and I still don't have anyone that can help me and tell me where my refund is.

wow…. wish I had seen these review before purchase. I purchased a bunch of items but two shirts for my husband a size small were so long they could be a dress on him. and a few others items. about 25% of the order. I returned it on the same day as another item I returned to another company on the same day. the other company let me know the return was on the way and today let me know it was received and I received my credit. since I had not heard anything from Coolibar I called them. the person I spoke with was not understanding my question. when I explained she was not understanding me she became rude and would not let me finish a sentence. when I asked her to let me finish my statement then she just stayed silent. when I asked if she was still there she stated she just wanted to make sure I was finished. I then asked her her name again and she would not give it to me. she eventually did and when I asked her to let me speak a supervisor she said there is no supervisor. I kept asking for a supervisor and she said she would hang up on me and then she did . when I called back and asked if there was a supervisor I could speak to the person informed that that there is a supervisor but she was out for the holidays but transferred me to her voicemail. so to date I still don't know what the status of my return is. hoping I hear from the supervisor. this person who was to provide "customer service" really should not be in this job.

The items I ordered were great but just want to put a word of warning out there for international buyers. They will charge import and duties on the full amount of your order. That particular bit of information I found only by digging in the site after receiving my order and seeing there was more to pay on top of the prices I already had, basically the price of half my order. This type of information should be prominent on the FAQs or before you commit your order so international purchasers can make an informed decision on how to spend their money which will already be converted from US currency.

They won鈥檛 let you post honest reviews on there site so I鈥檒l post it everywhere else.
Bought Two 12-18 month size in the spring (2019) for my then 3 month old baby it is now August and he has completely outgrown it. They鈥檙e not joking when they say keep activity to a minimum because of risk of over heating. I鈥檓 happy my baby had full coverage without having to use sunscreen, not happy with the fit/sizing, not happy that I would have to put it on right before swimming and then immediately take it off after swimming because my son would start sweating and over heating quickly. Love the concept, maybe work on a wicking material?

Make sure you read the refund policy before buying. At a family gathering I saw cousins wearing Coolibar. I went straight home and bought my own suit. Before purchasing, I read the reviews and saw that the suits tend to run on the larger size. So me being a 2X, I bought a 1X and it fit perfect. We went to my family reunion in Washington state and while swimming, the bottoms almost fell off my rear from the weight of the water. I contacted Coolibar to do an exchange, but they don't do returns once it's been worn. So, I wasted a lot of money on something I won't be able to wear again. As much as I love their clothing, I will never buy from them again unless they change their refund policy.

Beware Post Sales

We had four separate problems with after sales service at coolibar (see earlier review), and were not given the ability to post our disappointment on coolibar's site directly. So we posted a few other places.

Tracy, a coolibar customer service supervisor then took the case over and got all of these issues cleaned up pronto. We are VERY thankful to her personally in response to our asking for a supervisor and leaving her a voicemail.

All that said, the company's service hasn't changed. A quick look at the reviews tells the story. If you want results with post-sales problems, I recommend you get a supervisor on the line pronto!

I am so disappointed. I took off the tags so I can not return this item. Beware they run BIG! I am 5' 1" and 93 lbs. I bought a size 2-4 shirt and should have known it was too big but stupidly threw the tag away before I tried it on! Live and learn.

They do not have a good return policy at all. I'm returning the expensive shirt I bought for my husband because it is massive, and I have to pay return shipping. I'll never buy from them again.

I have bought a few items and I do like their clothing. However, I bought a ridiculously priced umbrella, thinking it was something special. I used it about 6 times when the button to put it up or down came off (presumably while I was walking with umbrella up). Because it鈥檚 past the 90 day return policy, I will not be refunded. Admittedly, it is over two years old. However, as I said, it was barely used. Hey Coolibar! Take a lesson from a Canadian company by checking out their return policy. Look up Mountain Equipment Co-op. 鈥淏acking鈥?your goods for only 90 days is laughable!

As an Englishman who moved to Texas as an adult, I am in desperate need of sun protection, since I never became accustomed to such fierce sun exposure. Luckily for me, my Texan wife and Australian mother-in-law are both very aware of the dangers of over-exposure to harsh sunlight, and they introduced me to Coolibar products.
To date, I have bought several tops (t-shirts, performance (athletic) tees, cycling jerseys and swim shirts), swim shorts and sun hats, and I'm very happy with everything I have bought. All of the orders I have placed were dispatched the next day, and received by me within 4 or 5 days.
I have used Coolibar clothing to good effect on vacation in Cancun and Australia, and also on a Caribbean cruise, and they are my first-choice clothing whenever I intend to be outdoors for 20 minutes or more in the heat of Texas summer.
Having Coolibar clothing allows me to be outside for extended periods without fear of becoming sunburned, which I cannot do comfortably in any other clothing. I have found no comparable products anywhere online, and will continue to buy all of my sun-protection clothing exclusively from Coolibar in the future.

I bought a shirt and a skorts online, attracted to their lovely pictures. The delivery was OK but the skorts I received was way too big. I ran a measuring tape around the waist and it was at least 2 inches larger than claimed on the website. Of course I sent it back to request for an exchange of size. They were slow in their email responses and despite waiting for 2 weeks, the exchanged goods never came. I sent a recent email to enquire on the exchange of goods and they never replied. Am tempted to ask for a refund. This is rather bad service for rather expensive clothing.

I just had yet another atypical mole removed. I fear the sun anymore, but Coolibar gives me a peace of mind to still get out and enjoy this bright beautiful world!

Ther is a fake coolibar website claimed to be registered in Austria/sSwitzerland, you pay and get nothing, even the delivery note is faked.

I am a bit obsessed about sun protection. But most of the clothing is really pretty tacky or just plain frumpy. Finally I have found a great company that makes attractive clothes that I want to wear. They have some adorable swim shorts that cover a multitude of "sins" as well as protect me from the sun–and I look great too! The workout shirts fit great, look good and are comfortable even in the heat. Finally someone is making something attractive that gives the sun protection we all need! They also have a website that is easy to use and they ship stuff very quickly! I've already re-ordered more stuff!

Love the coolibar swimskirts. Haven't tried anything else, but I wear the wrap arounds on the beach and on the boat all the time. The prices seem to be as good on the website as anywhere else, plus I found online coupons. Great product, easy to use website.
