Disgusting approach to partners and clients, be warned that cPanel has within 12 months degraded in so, so many areas – pricing, however, is absurd.

I understand the concept of demand and growth in business, and the requirements and pressure that puts on a business to increase costs and charges – that's standard and expected, irrespective of the industry. But the revised pricing model by cPanel is disgusting and abusive of the position they hold.

However, when increasing pricing for clients, the approach by the cPanel guys have been absolutely dreadful, changing the pricing model entirely from a 'per server' model to a 'per user' model.

To give some idea of the extent of this increase, our spend went from a respectable 拢12,000 annual cost for licences to a whopping 拢78,000.

cPanel recently announced from January, they are now increasing the base cost of licences by a further 8% and the cost per user by 75%.

This now hikes our licence expense to around 拢95,000 annual, which is absolutely extortionate.

The software is good, yes, but it's equally not the only platform available. Its become the industry 'standard' by expectation, but not in quality – the development cycle over the past 12 months hasn't increased or changed, and the support remains the same standard it was prior to the increase.

Start considering the other guys in the field, who don't intend on taking advantage of your business model or trust and avoid cPanel at all costs at absolutely every scale and level.

If you are new to the industry, please, take advantage of your freedom and look at alternative providers where morals come before greed.

This owner of cpanel they should be ashamed at themselves they the sneakiest and corrupt and most DESPICABLE people they got a raise were they put 34 hosts out of business because of there raise now they are raising there price again 60 DAYS LATER YOU WANT TO GIVE THIS GUY YOUR MONEY I NOT THEY ALSO CHARGE FOR SUPPORT DONT YOU think if you have a service that you are paying for SUPPORT WOULD BE FREE OMG WHAT type of people are on the internet crooks and more crooks. When you join it all goes to cpanel the resellers are being taken advantage of and being forced to upgrade the government sucks these are the online crooks that should be put in jail. They don't care for other people or peoples business all they care about is money and they were making the money of ten men they don't cater to small business they got like google greedy the bible states and this is in the old testament all that is happening with corona virus and the people taking advantage of it that Jesus is here to get the greedy self centered people and business off the planet. It is a shame that regular people in the world dont see what this scum is doing they are the only people cpanel that has a reseller so normal people can start a business online. All these online business and socal networks dont have any personality. The are like a nail cannot talk and joke they are rude discussting (Pigs)

These scammers are making monopoly marketing! They increase the price again effective from 2021. These money suckers have no liability to the industry! People are thinking they will buy Plesk but beaware, they also bought them out. Within few years these scammers will increase the plesk price too!
They owned cPanel, Plesk, WHMCS, JetBackups (and my guess a portion of CloudLinux and LiteSpeed too).

Will move out from cPanel soon! Stay away from these money suckers!

Support used to be the best in the industry.

Over the last 7 months it's turned in the opposite direction. Virus pandemic has support backed up over 20 hours to respond.

I am giving them 2 stars for even responding to my support ticket! Feel bad for the techs especially the ones who got furloughed. Apparently cPanel has a serious staffing issue.

New ticket support system where their is no way to determine how long of wait for a tech to respond.

If you were in an emergency situation it would be impossible to get on-demand support.

I love cPanel and always will…
Still the best panel on the market.
Frequent updates and rare to have issues.

Expect new normal will be higher prices and no support going forward.

Blessed to have knowledge to fix anything.
With COVID-19 and companies trying to stay in business you're on your own!

Absolute scum of the the earth. What was once a reasonably customer centric company that allowed me to get on with my web development in peace, Oakley Capital comes along and ruins the product by completely changing their pricing structure, increasing prices by an average of 300%, and with no notice. Now they've financially blackmailed buycPanel, and independant distributor of their products, in to joining Oakley's cPanel and Plesk (supposedly competing panels) appauling scam portfolio so we're losing another good one.

Not only has Oakley Capicrap bought BuycPanel, along with various other scripts and services to be even more greedy and take more market share, but BuycPanel has been wasted. For example their support was excellent, averaging 20 minute responses. cPanel has taken their support and it's now 12+ hours for a response. Not to mention they've taken away all of the free licenses that buycpanel provided, like WHMXtra, Spamscan, and others.

I advise everyone to avoid cPanel and go to DirectAdmin or another, but remember Plesk is part of them. With cPanel chucking in things like free SSL but NOT fixing the fact that most servers still need to install ConfigServer Firewall to manage security just shows it's still not a product worth paying 300% more for. Scum of a company, avoid.

cPanel is definitely overpriced, but we still love it and think it's ultimately worth the money. The worst parts about it is that it uses apache and centos rather than my much preferred centos and nginx

We have different servers and have been using cPanel for many years. We were very happy about their product but suddenly their price exploded.

One could think that with all this new money they could hire more programmers but their development is still painfully slow.

We are looking into alternative control panel software if the price this year does not come down and the development speed is not increased.

Its not usable anymore it "WAS" great software.

For several years, I have been operating my own server with VestaCP (open-source control panel) with my own websites (not hosting 3rd. party sites).

In May this year, I needed to change to a system that better supported SSL wildcard for multisite. I contacted cPanel support and they confirmed that this was possible with cPanel and that I could use their Solo license since it was my own sites and I did not require sub-accounts for clients. They confirmed a price of $15/ month – $180/year for my use.

I bought a license, got all installed – and it worked perfectly fine and as expected. All good, until I receive an invoice in August. Now, cPanel had changed my cost to $45/month – $540/year – saying that it was no longer allowed to use the Solo license on dedicated servers.

I write to support and say – Hey, it's just around two months since your own support advised me with a yearly fee of $180 for my need – and now you out of the blue have changed my yearly cost to $540. Maybe we can come to some fair agreement?

I receive an ice-cold answer from cPanel Support telling me that I can just cancel their service if I am not happy with it – and that this is new terms under new ownership.

Yes, that is also true – but changing a control panel from one to another on a live server is not an easy task – especially if you like me is a hobby webmaster that does not manage such a task every day. Took me around 20 hours to migrate to ispmanager that I now use.

I understand prices may go up in time – but to triple a cost of such an important element as a server panel from one day to another is simply so shady and rude.

It seems that cPanel that was great under old management has gone rogue after being bought by Oakley Capital. With many new great options out there – I can only say stay clear of everything related to cPanel and Oakley Capital.

I wish I could give them less than 1 star.

I've used cPanel/WHM for as long as I can remember, and I've always viewed their pricing as a bit high, but their new pricing model is just absurd and feels like a poorly executed April Fool's joke.

Avoid this company at all costs unless you want to be surprised with 100% price hikes overnight. There are many alternatives to cPanel, for much, much cheaper, and I strongly suggest you use one of those instead.

I've been using Cpanel since the 1990's when they operated out of the VDI datacenter in NJ. It's always been a stable product and fairly priced allowing them to dominate the market. But overnight they turned their good reputation that gave them their marketshare into a greedy corporation abusing the marketshare they earned through trust.

They did not even use market standards of grandfathering existing clients into their pricing plan. So low cost hosting companies that built their models around the Cpanel pricing model will be driven out of business when they're forced to raise their price on everyone.

I won't surprised to see droves of Cpanel customers shifting to free control panel software with their absolutely ridiculous and shameful price increases. Imagine you have a fixed cost in your business model and practically overnight you are told you have pay 3 to 10 times what you pay depending how many accounts you have.

One last note, if you're going to play the per account game, then play the per account game, but to charge a minimum per server and per account is just outrageous!

Because of their greed and thinking they are dominating the market, cpanel suddenly raised its price to over 10x, absurd. This will destroy thousands of companies worldwide. cPanel must be punished for this and will die. Migrating all our servers to DirectAdmin.

We've been using cPanel for around 20 years(!), helped them create its monopoly position and now… in a month's time they've changed their licensing model and expect their customers to pay at least 100%(mostly more) for the same licenses… Don't trust them any more!
