No longer worth using, sadly. Company was bought by investor who has zero interest in client services, customer service etc.
A ll of our products, like 30 of them were simply cancelled without notice. Couldn't connect to support because the emails wouldn't work without cpanel.
No phone or other access to support.
They are the worst now thanks to greedy hedge fund. This will no longer be the standard that it has been sadly. Higher prices, worse service.
Absolutely horrible. All l of our servers are down now with no support at all. This may destroy our hosting business
If you can do business without them,i would highly recommend you do so.

My experience, is a sour one. I made a website a very simple website. I wanted to publish it on c-Panel. I made a zip.file of my website. I uploaded it in file manager to a folder I created. I then unzipped it to a sub folder in the public_html directory. My website displayed: Forbidden, you do not have permissions to access this resource. I must have done something wrong. Tried a couple of variants on the above, same result. Reloaded a template through site publisher (Where of course I cannot upload my own website to. That worked. Looked carefully at the files and folders created by publisher, no I hadn't done anything strange. Right, now what (A full day wasted). Called support, bad connection. Got the same instructions, followed them again, also I was told not to leave files outside of the sub folder created to put my website in. No, same result. Asked support if ASP.NET was supported, the support person gave the impression he didn't know ASP.NET, which didn't instill a massive amount of trust the guy actually knew what he was talking about, I mean how can you work in a support department for clients encountering hosting issues and not know ASP.NET? I know Microsoft is not popular, but ASP.NET is everybody knows it. Anyway I now know from a forum it is not supported. No matter, blank project, just an html page a .css page a folder containing four images. That should work then, right it is a simple .txt file saved as html file, it cannot get much simpler and basic then that. Guess what same result and two days of my time wasted. This is not suited not for beginners and not for advanced people either. I also watched a you tube video, same helpful instructions, nothing I had skipped or hadn't tried, but my site still display's Forbidden. The support pages are horrific, the music played while the support person went to ask what asp.net was and came back telling me it is supported, (It is not for crying out loud), well great this sucks, I regret ever having heard of Go Daddy and worse thinking it would be a lot better than my previous hosting. It is bad it is very bad. I guess it works fine if you buy a website with Go Daddy, or have their programmers do it for you. If you intend to build your own site, move on quickly when Go Daddy and cPanel hosting are offered. What a useless service.

What the hell? I have my own server, only set up accounts to separate my domains that i work on… now suddenly out of the blue i need to pay per account?

What?

Reality is, its a single account. Mine. I just use accounts to seperate domains and give different developers access to each one.

Now I have to fricken cut it down to 5 accounts and put all my domains as addons?

Just stupid. Screw you guys, changing systems

We have different servers and have been using cPanel for many years. We were very happy about their product but suddenly their price exploded.

One could think that with all this new money they could hire more programmers but their development is still painfully slow.

We are looking into alternative control panel software if the price this year does not come down and the development speed is not increased.

Insane Price Increases. After cPanel was purchased by a venture capital firm they dramatically increased their prices. Not only are the price increases massive – they also implemented an entirely new (per user) billing method, which makes many business types now unviable.

The worst part is they did this with virtually no warning – just to give people no time to switch. Overall I would not trust cPanel and I would highly recommend that anyone looking to start with a new control panel from scratch look elsewhere.

Absolute scum of the the earth. What was once a reasonably customer centric company that allowed me to get on with my web development in peace, Oakley Capital comes along and ruins the product by completely changing their pricing structure, increasing prices by an average of 300%, and with no notice. Now they've financially blackmailed buycPanel, and independant distributor of their products, in to joining Oakley's cPanel and Plesk (supposedly competing panels) appauling scam portfolio so we're losing another good one. I advise everyone to avoid cPanel and go to DirectAdmin or another. With cPanel chucking in things like free SSL but NOT fixing the fact that most servers still need to install ConfigServer Firewall to manage security just shows it's still not a product worth paying 300% more for. Scum of a company, avoid.

Oakley Capitol's Greed has brought down CPanel
It saddens us how disconnected Oakley Capitol (the new owners of cPanel, Plesk and WHMCS) is from the ever changing landscape of the hosting industry. They are correct with today鈥檚 hardware web hosts are able to allocate more accounts per server. What they fail to understand is 20 years ago we charged $20 per month for a shared web hosting package, today we charge $5. Many of our competitors and even our own customers charge a lot less.
4.2. Consequences of the new price policy
Because of paying per cPanel account, shared and, especially reseller hosting account prices will be higher.
Providers who sold many cheap shared/reseller hosting accounts for year/3 years in advance, will end up having cPanel costs be higher than what they charge(d) for the hosting. Cheap shared hosting providers and providers who sold many long term unlimited reseller hosting accounts will suffer the most.
Clients on a budget will also be hit hard. And have to look for non-cPanel hosting solutions.
More expensive providers will now have their prices become more competitive, having more clients. The rich will become richer, while the poor will suffer.
Hosting providers that have not been using cPanel will be singing now.
Unlimited reseller and dirt cheap shared hosting offers will become rare.
Hosting providers might be even more inclined to crowd servers with too many accounts now, since extra cost per cPanel is somewhat lower with more than 100 accounts on a server. 0.45 $ per cPanel account for the first 100 accounts on a server, then 0.2 $ for each additional.
Providers who decide to switch to a different control panel will have many problems with implementation, migration and customer support. Along with their clients.
This is a very good lesson to both the clients and the hosting providers in terms of making long term deals (for year, two, or three in advance). That policy has its advantages (provider gets more money right away, while the client gets a discount), but also the downsides (hosting quality change and sudden increase of costs 鈥?like cPanel did just now).

Prices will go up, with many cheap hosting providers going bancrupt, or bought out for peas. In short: big ones will grow bigger, devouring the small ones 鈥?writing this and hoping that I鈥檓 wrong, or to pessimistic.

In the following year I鈥檓 expecting chaos. Price rises, drop in hosting quality and customer support, all sorts of control panels being introduced, many cheaper providers going bankrupt, lots of problems for reseller hosting account users.

I will switch to another Control panel from a company that is more ethical

Have been a customer for over 10 years and then suddenly – BAM – huge price increases that threaten my business.

Totally unethical to increase prices by between 250 to almost 500% depending on the plan you are on.

cPanel company was bought out by Oakley Capital Investments Limited – clearly a completely unethical business – I wouldn't invest in this company – they are only out to bleed as much profit as possible and this will likely destroy the many small businesses and the offshoot eco system within them.

Avoid – do not trust – find alternatives.

The new license model is out of this world prices are so high i will tell you guys in advance in now and a short time 80% will step over to other providers.

Cpanel is the best hosting panel and most straight forward hosting panel. And very stable if its setup correctly !

But guys if you dont review this astronomical prices a almost 10x raise of prices cPanel will be death in a short time ..

new pricing is a joke

cPanel has made a terrible decision in making their pricing 'per account' when they've profited since day 1 by allowing unlimited accounts per server. What does it matter how many users per licenses are used, the licenses are for the SERVERS not the accounts on the server. It's like if Windows/Apple charged you extra for every user created on your workstation.

CPanel you should hold your head in shame, price hiking licence fees after a company transition leaving thousands of users with no choice but to find an alternative.

Sincerely hope you have a quick rethink on the pricing model because in less than a week, virtually all your clients are leaving you. Good Job there.
