I would not recommend this co. To no one. I was offered a refund of 30 dollors for poor customer care. They take advantage of disabled and elderly folk. Plain to see. If they continue im going to the news media.

I called in and ordered service and when I received the paperwork the document locked me into a one-year agreement. The salesman was nice but he didn't disclose this to me.

I called to cancel and was transferred 5 times. Finally, I spoke to someone on staff in the sales department and he said he could do a month-to-month monitoring agreement but he would have to charge me an exorbitant activation fee.

This is unacceptable. BEWARE of CPI Security!

I gave 3 stars because of the issues with my doorbell camera. When trying to view it freezes too often or sometimes I can hear but not see and when I try to speak to someone they can鈥檛 understand me. Even with the internet extender I was given when system was installed. Also, there have been times when I have a delivery for example and the camera didn鈥檛 sense the motion and send me notification.

I had pretty good luck with CPI over the course of 8 years. It got ugly when I decided to cancel and found out I'd be charged for another month. Seems they require 30 days notice and I wasn't aware of that. On top of it all, their cancellation process is cumbersome.

I am very disappointed in CPI this morning. I have had their service in the past for over 6 years without issue; however, I have moved into a new home and require a new system. I contacted CPI to take advantage of their Black Friday special and spoke with Michael in Sales for over 45 min. We discussed my needs at length and I was told that two glass break sensors would be adequate. I specifically asked about this as I had previously had more glass break sensors. Fast forward to today鈥檚 installation. The very first thing I am told by the technician is that 2 glass break sensors are inadequate and that I will need at least 6 more at $139 each are necessary for adequate security. I contacted Customer Service and was offered a $200 credit, which covers the cost of 1 sensor. This is not ok. My expectation when doing business with a company is that they provide accurate information as THEY and THEIR employees are the EXPERTS with respect to their equipment and services.
I chose to cancel the installation due to the unexpected and excessive additional charges. I will evaluate other options, which are many. I am disappointed, since I had hoped to do business locally as CPI is a local company. My hope in writing this review is to make other potential customers aware that there can be additional charges added on the day of installation, despite lengthy conversations with and questions to the sales team to design an appropriate system. I鈥檓 not sure if this is happens frequently or not, but in any case it is something to be aware of if you are considering CPI for security.

Very happy with the security this far. Everything appears to work well. If the monthly monitoring rate was more affordable it would earn a 5 star review.

We have been with CPI for about 6 years now and they are a very excellent company to trust with your home security. From the customer service, to the installer who installs your equipment,the monitoring that CPI provides and overall best service for your dollar you can't go wrong with CPI

CPI workers have displayed a culture of genuine care for and courtesy toward their customers. The installer was a good listener and helped me decide on the system installation (especially with respect to camera positioning). Installer walked me through the installation of the CPI InTouch app, to ensure that I had full access to the controls and setting for my system. Whenever I have had questions, pre and post installation, I have had the pleasure of working with patient, caring, and competent representatives. When I had questions about adjusting the notification setting on the in touch app, the person who helped me listened to understand my issue, then patiently gave me the guidance that i needed to resolve the issue. I have never gotten the feeling when communicating with CPI that my issue was just "an issue", but that my issue was the issue, the only issue, until we both agreed that my need had been fully addressed. It is obvious to me that CPI management cares as much, if not more, about consistently providing superior and courteous service to their customers as they do about acquiring new customers. For this reason I could easily recommend them to others.

CPI is great when it is working, but I鈥檝e had several issues with the doorbell camera. The doorbell camera was replaced around 4 times within 5 months. Several had the plastic film over the camera fall off and would not connect. I also had a issue with my cameras when I was on vacation just when you need it the most. When I called CPI they said the only way to fix it would be to unplug and replug back in the CPI router. Well that is difficult to do when you鈥檙e 5 states away from home. Overall, customer service has been good, but the reliability of their equipment falls in the poor category. Which is disappointing, because I love the system the times that it does work.

I've been with CPI for four + years at two different houses. I have had no problems with any of the equipment, the monitoring, or payment for that time. I feel safe, can work the equipment, and have been able to set up additional uses easily. Thanks CPI

They scheduled our first appointment to set everything up on Saturday from 12-4. The technician reached out and said he would be running behind a few hours. We called back around 6ish to get an update and the technician told us that he would be arriving a little later, which was fine.We then receive a call 30 mins later from their office stating that they scheduled a technician from Savannah, GA to do an install in Charleston, SC. We proceeded and still decided to do business with this company after they gave us the run around about being the first appointment of the day the following Saturday. You would think since they had us waiting all day and didn't show up that would be a no brainier. So we received a few more phone calls from them leading up to the next appointment with them trying to change the time of the appointment. The next Saturday comes and the technician actually arrives around 8am. The technician walks in and tells us they can't do a takeover on our door and window sensors and that we would be charged around $600 for them to replace all of them. After that I had no choice but to cancel. When talking to the sales representative he didn't mention there was a possibility that they wouldn't be able to takeover our sensors. We went over all the devices we had from our previous provider while setting up the new package. On our contract it stated that they would be doing a takeover for sensors. He also sold us on the light control device but failed to tell us that it would only work for one fixture. They will do anything to get your business but customer service will drop and they will start adding additional cost as soon as they get you to sign the contract.

I have worked with Buddy Milks – 336-312-3430 (Greensboro, NC) with both our home system and more recently with my business security system. In both instances, he went above and beyond and is always available – even calling me when he was on vacation to answer some questions I had. He gives exceptional service and even now months after I have had my systems installed, he is always willing to return my calls and help me with any questions I might have. I highly recommend him and CPI.

It took me three tries to get CPI's autopayment to work.

Attempt 1–in person with the technician during the installations
Attempt 2–on the phone with Brittany who debited my checking account but failed to set up recurring payments as I thought she had
Attempt 3–on the phone with Alicia after receiving a bill who set up auto pay with a credit card for every six months

I cannot find an account management or billing option to manage my account on your website either.

CPI has a good quality alarm service. It has an easy to use interface which is what drew me to it in the first place. It is definitely more costly than competitors but I feel the benefits are worth it.

50% of the time my doorbell camera doesn鈥檛 work. They are very quick to come and replace it, however, that doesn鈥檛 negate the fact that it doesn鈥檛 work. Customer service is very efficient and expeditious in sending someone to fix it but doesn鈥檛 last long. Unfortunately, not impressed !!! Probably should have gone with RING
