Creditverify

I had the same experience of a lot of the 1 star reviews in this thread.

Did not know I would be charged when I did not fully complete the application process. I never received any emails from them (monthly updates / invoices / confirmations).

Cancelation process was horrible. 3 days of phoning and it would not even ring. 4th day it rang but then would hang up. 5th day waited and hour and half on hold. When I did get a rep on the phone to cancel, I got a sales pitch. They would not refund / reimburse for my time and lost money. Made the rep stay on the phone with me until I received the cancelation confirmation via email.

Don't even go near their application portal. Don't touch it with a 10 foot pole. You do not need to do the whole application/confirm your email for them to start charging you. I question the legality of that.

This company claims to provide you a free credit report from TransUnion and they claim to be a Canadian company based in Vancouver – Upon putting in all your information and a CC for a $1.00 charge which is your membership fee which can be canceled any time you are verified and you get some credit history – It is not Equifax quality. Secondly once you try to cancel by email you will get a bot response that you need to call to verify your cancellation (BS) I called four times in 24 hours – no response just long holds.. longest was 49 mins claiming I was next in Que – only to hear "there is no one to take you call at this time" I have emailed several times.. and nothing. Note email text I received from them, Dear valued consumer,

We have received your email.

NOTE due to security purposes you MUST call into our phone number so one of our agents can verify your identity.

This includes any account changes including CANCEL requests.

Our customer support center can be contacted as follows:

Would give 0 stars if possible. They don't make it clear anywhere that you are signing up for a membership, obviously nobody reads the terms and conditions… The number to call and cancel doesn't even have an option to be put on hold?!! Garbage scam of a company.

Signed up for an advertised $1 credit score check, go find unbeknownst to me a charge for $19.95 in my account. I emailed them to cancel, I later received an email that I actually never saw and was charged a second month. Called in, talked to a nice enough lady who roobotically tried to re-sell me over and over to continue or ulgrade, eventually she cancelled, now only time will tell if it is actually cancelled.

I've tried to sign up for some of the other credit sites like Credit Karma and Borrowell but they purposely make it hard to get your credit report and see any real details. This is the first service that gave me all my credit report information. Perhaps too much detail but more is better…

I initially came to site via a loan site. I got my score and stayed for the alerts. Getting alerts makes me feel secure about my credit file not being tampered with.

This product helped me understand how the credit score works and what actions I can take to improve it. Good website, clear and easy to navigate. The credit simulator is very useful.
Overall, I am satistied with my purchase.

Good service, saw improvement since I first signed up. Called to cancel since I lost my job and couldn't afford anymore. Agent offered a discounted monthly price to help out and added a cool new feature to my account. Very happy

Finally! Been signing up for various credit report sites and finally found one that gave me all my credit report info. Everyone else just shows very little info and try to get you to sign up for credit cards.

The report here was super thorough! Thanks.

Edit: Got it cancelled just short of being charged, had to call 7 times, because it either stated all lines were busy or it just straight up hung up on me after ringing, they even read me out a script about my score and how credit works after insisting to go straight to the cancellation process a dozen times, completely ignoring my request.
I sympathies for the operators who are instructed to do this, as you can tell they rather just get your request over with.

They signed me up for a week trial (In fine print) when trying to get my credit score, i was unaware i was charged, and the charge showed up on my statement 6 days later only for me to discover they charge $20 a month after the 7 day trial. Their call centers (the only way to cancel) are closed on weekends.

Seems fraudulent, they are certainly aware that most people sign up unwillingly and that most credit card charges show up several days after a charge is placed, so its likely you get charged $20 (And the $1 trial fee) before you are aware of the membership.

This is a fraud company. They wont cancel it..I phoned the agent to cancel the membership. They tried to resell but finally agreed to cancel. She confirmed it was cancelled.I didn't get any email for that.So I called again and the next agent assured me it was cancelled but I still got charged from my account. Now nobody answers phone.I sent them multiple emails..No reply.looks like they collect pre authorization first and then wont allow to get in touch…Better stay away..If you get membership, you are trapped..

It was super easy to sign up and REALLY HARD to cancel – even though they make it seem easy. I said cancel please to the phone operator – who continually tried to resell me. When I refused she put me on hold and transferred me to another staff who was going to try and sell me harder!!! I hung up. If they do not cancel my membership now I will report them to the BBB.

This is ridiculous!!!

So here鈥檚 my experience with these horrible convicts. First of all getting ahold of people鈥檚 bank information and doing fraud, charging people鈥檚 credit cards and trying to get away with it. These sketchy horrible people should be locked up. Honest to god some people! Not knowing who these people were and billing someone with fraud. Ya not a good way to promote yourself! I hope the worst happens to you people because sooner or later it鈥檚 going to catch up to you! If anyone ever has this same problem contact your bank immediately and get it sorted because Jesus Christ you people are convicts trying to steal from
Innocent people who make a dam living. Nobody deserves to be stolen from.

Credit Verify is a 'so called' monitoring service based in California. It is NOT a Canadian company. (1)Their rates, for starters are in USD, not CDN (so expect to see $1.50 and $35 billed on your statement, not $1 and $19.95). (2) their customer line 1-866-899-3175 puts you on hold for hours (3) most telling is that their answering machine message & online FAQ pages emphasise how to cancel the service & that they don't do refunds. (4) its unclear where they store your personal data. Avoid this business.

If you want to cancel this service then you need to call them. When i call they say all lines are busy but if you want to cancel go to our FAQ.

FAQ says call them… Call them it says we are busy but to cancel go to FAQ.

they make it so inconvenient to cancel that you have to dedicate like an hour to get a hold of them and cancel.

There must be some law against a company deliberately making it almost impossible for you to cancel their billing.

Signed up for a 1 month free trial to check my credit report.
WAS IMMEDIATELY BILLED FOR A MONTH OF SERVICE. To me, this is extremely sketchy for a service that is supposed to help you protect your financial well-being.

Other things i didn't like:
– there was no way to unsubscribe on their website; have to call during limited business hours
– long wait times on hold to speak to a live agent
– high pressure sales pitch to not cancel
– customer service phone calls randomly disconnecting
