Here are just two things I've experience over the past 6 months alone.

1. Danske Bank misplaced a US government check that I deposited with them. Despite having a receipt and proof of delivery, I was they could not do anything and I needed to go through the exhausting process of getting my check re-issued. Thus, I took personal time from work to investigate this matter (meaning I literally lost money because Danske Bank lost my check in the mail). During my personal day, I spent hours on the phone with the IRS (the US tax group) to acquire a re-issue. In the waiting period while the check was reissued (and without informing me), Danske Bank proceeded to deposit a photocopy of the check to my account. As a result, the time I spent working to get the check re-issued was wasted, and I was still required to pay a deposit fee. Furthermore, it makes it look like check fraud to some external bodies.

2. I've been told conflicting information by various associates. Some say I cannot have a USD account with them, and some say I cannot. As a result, I cannot trust any verbal exchange I have with the associates.

They were being ok to begin with. At one point very nice about what I was doing. But later, this bank made a scene about tracking and ruined my life. After closing my bank account with them, they and their international partner banks kept tracking me for years. They also seem to have inspected my other bank accounts and from the other bank reviews in trustpilot you can imagine how that has been.

Terrible bank with terrible services! Sooo unprofessional!

The problem is harassing your employees when opening a bank account. Although I submitted everything that was requested, they asked for more documentation. Halo? 21st century, a bank account should open in 1 minute! I gave up opening an account with you and being your client due to unprofessionalism.

to withdraw from their machine, didn't dispense the money yet took the money from my account. Told them to knock off the machine, they didn't, and surprise surprise it happened to every person after me!!

Update: Hilarious the reply below, especially as I called into the branch it was attached to the minute it happened!! (Guildhall Sq, Derry!!)

Update 2: Have been informed by my bank that it'll take up to 8 weeks to get my money back!! Disgraceful!!

I have been reading some of these comments and I can鈥檛 believe what I am reading. I have been with Danske/Northern bank for nearly forty years and in all that time I have never had to complain about anything. The staff and Customer Support team are all very pleasant to deal with and any problems are quickly sorted. It seems some people spend their lives complaining.

DANSK HORROR STORY DEFINITELY THE TREATMENT GIVEN BY THIS BANK IS HORROR. THE TREATMENT I RECEIVED FROM THIS BANK I FEEL LIKE DURING UNDER THE 2 WORLD WAR. THIS BANK IS VERY LIKE THE GESTAPO BRANCH. I do not wish it to anyone. The Danske Bank prejudiced me and I went through hell for a month trying to get out of my account the remaining money in the account which I lost. In the middle of the coronavirus they made it impossible for me to transfer my money abroad and they did not care about the difficult situation people face at this time. No kick, no help or support on their part, no advice and they attend you by phone or attacking or hanging you a phone call. If you are a masoquita, this bank is the perfect institution for you. Because of this bank I lost my money i left in THIS DANSKE BANK and the one I had the right to use. I think they did it on purpose so that I could not transfer abroad. This bank is abnormal. My first days that I went there to get the money in the cash my first time I saw drug addicts and homelss peeing on the facade of this bank. I was outraged. Today I understood many things. This bank will leave you stripped on the street. I believe they are closing accounts of too many people who are turned into the situation on the street. What they did to me made me ugly ugly. They simply denied me in bad faith my right to have made my last international transfer exactly to leave me without money on the other continent in the midst of the economic and coronavirus crisis. They did not give me the option or transfer this money to me and they closed my account practically depriving me of my last money. They also tricked me into tricking me that if I teach them registration in another country they will open a netbank with the option of transferring this money to me, but they cheated just the opposite. They blocked this option and closed my account, preventing me and providing me with the possibility of obtaining this money in my emergency or coronavirus situation abroad. I made dozens of calls trying to ask for support to be able to receive my money and I was treated with a lot of contempt, prejudice me instead of having helped me just like the people here describe it … the treatment is terrifying. No bank in the whole world mistreats its customers like this, I have never seen anything like it. Instead of helping and supporting you, they harm you, justifying that this is their policy. No bank in other countries gave me a treatment that left me traumatized for a long time. Out of desperation I asked a Danish friend to transfer this money from my account to his and send me and he even stole me. So I lost my money and the account. I feel very sorry for the people in this country who are treated so ugly. Danish friend thief closed canceled my noglekort and I cannot access my e boks to get proof of the theft and breach of trust to give to the police and bank also refused the option to get this extract of this movement to give it to me so i Can GIVE IT to POLICE to follow up with me Complaint, Between bad work by bank employees and Danish THIEF my friend who stole this money in the end. Indeed, this seems like a mafia country as people here describe it in the reviews. What I had an unpleasant experience was not wished on anyone. They took out my ADRESS FOLKEREGISTER in another country but they still closed my account saying that without having an address in Denmark you cannot be a DanskBank client but I had this account without adress in Denmark for 3 years. It's all so weird and abnormal. I told them that I return to Denmark as soon as the international flights open and that they give me a little more time and do not close my account completely since there are no flights due of coronavirus and they will not even talk about stolen or lost money from my account … they did not give me a chance to respect my humanitarian situation that they are closing the border and suspending flights and I could not even return to Europe and the bank took advantage of my absence to strip me of my account. This is a violation of human rights, black hands work in this bank and lack of respect for the situation of humanitarian crisis that did not give me more months to get to Denmark to give them my new home adress in Denmark. They did not give me the option or transfer this money to me and they closed my account practically depriving me of my money left in DK.They also lied to me that it was not possible to have two adresses 1 in Denmark and another abroad and the only thing missing is that some black hand will take away my Danish passport. Terrible experience I will stay traumatized for many years I will not want to keep my money in this bank. Even the worst thing is that every time in Denmark they steal money from me, 6 months ago I also got stolen my 3,000 euros a friend stolen my money FROM my handback at her house in Denmark and now this is terrifying too.

This is really a terrible bank, harassing its customers with questions constantly and threatening to close down the account if not filled out until the next day.

The worst and the most non flexible bank in Demmark. After 9 years with them i will change the bank. I will give them 0 stars but i can not. I told everyone who want to open a bank account to avoid this bank , This bank has a bad image , full of scandals about corruption and fraud. Avoid this bank. There is many other good banks in Denmark. After 9 years i just closed my account on them and i am very happy for it. Avoid this bank , there is so many others good banks in Denmark. I have also 2 accounts on Sydbank and i am very ok with Sydbank. There is no comparation between Danske Bank and Sydbank. Danske Bank is a institution/bank plague with scandals of money laundering) Only one ex. Of money laundering of Danske Bank: theire Estonian branch washed around 200 billions euros between 2007-2015) . On 8 may 2019 Thomas Borgen, the former chief executive officer of Danske Bank was charged by the prosecutors for his involvement in the money laundering. Since Danske took over northern bank it鈥檚 went downhill with its loyalty to its customers & the banking app has to be the most annoying as sometimes takes 2 days of trying just to get logged on, currently looking into switching banks, not a happy customer

Late in 2019, Danske Bank implemented a racist policy which meant that if you are a foreigner (non-scandivian) living outside of Scandinavia, then they no longer want your business!

I was a customer with Danske Bank for 19 years & had my mortgage with them until they essentially forced me out of my account (despite being in credit & having a regular monthly income.

In December 2019 they contacted me to advise they would be removing all cards which gave me access MY money, due to the racist reasons mentioned above.

6 months later, after I had cleared my mortgage, they then decided to freeze my account/funds & told me they would only unfreeze my account to allow me to transfer my money out & close the account!

Absurd & disgraceful!
Do not give them your business.

And their ridiculous comment below is a good example of how they think they should decide what their customers need!! What if I have incoming & outgoing expenses in Scandinavia, Danske Bank?
Oh yeah that鈥檚 right, you couldn鈥檛 care less.

I would never recommend Danske Bank to anyone for a number of reasons. One of these is that we used Danske Bank for a mortgage to buy an apartment. We choose the mix of a fixed loan and a variable rate (Prioritet) loan. By the time we sold our apartment we had paid off all the Prioritet loan but because it was for 30 years we were charged about 6000 DKK to "close" this loan even though there was no outstanding amount left on it. When I complained about this and asked where this fee was documented when we opened the loan no response was provided. At some point our advisor told me something like "The real estate agent gets a commission for selling the apartment, so this is similar" It still hasn't been clarified where this is documented in the loan agreement. In other countries this would be considered theft.

And please before asking me to email kundehenvendelser please provide a link for everyone to see where these fees were documented?

EDIT: In reply to your response, what I understand from this is that you're telling me is that there is no documented fees on your website and that these fees are not fully defined. If I'm understanding this correctly it's just confirming what I thought already! I'd be very wary doing business with a bank who can not clearly explain their fee structure for a given loan type.

neither of which seem to be appropriate here.

I am a customer of the Swedish branches of Danske Bank, and after 2 years of poor communication and lack of any effort to make my experience good, I am totally disappointed and DON'T recommend it to ANYONE coming to Sweden who is not speaking Swedish. Both the bank pages online and the app that can be downloaded on mobile phones, just DON鈥橳 have the "English" language option what-so-ever. I contacted the bank numerous times and gave them the same feedback times and times again, yet after numerous updates of the app, the language option was never a thing that interested them to facilitate.
I regret my choice to open an account with this bank. Please don't do it to yourself.

I was about to leave Denmark for a year and then come back, i wanted to keep my account opened for that period of time i would be in my home-country (Greece). I called Danske Bank and i told them that i will leave for a year and come back after and asked what is the procedure to keep my account opened, all they said is "You just need to update your address information and change it to the address in your home-country " I was happy to hear it and i did exactly what they told me.

Everything was going fine, but a few months later they called me asking me to provide proof of address in my home-country. I told them that when i talked on the phone they didn鈥檛 mention this, I couldn鈥檛 provide them with proof on that moment because i was in the army and far from home, they told me i have 1 month time otherwise my account will be blocked. I was lucky i was going home in 3 weeks so i asked them what they wanted (They asked for a statement from my local bank) I did that but they didn鈥檛 accept it because the statement was in Greek and they wanted it translated in English by a lawyer. I didn鈥檛 have time to argue with them so i translated the paper they asked and that costed me a lot of money. I had to pay money and be under pressure just because they gave me wrong information before i left Denmark. I would write more but it is already pretty long.

I called Danske Bank to hear if they could assist with a foreign payment. After waiting on a phone line for ages (listening to how much they "care about their customers"), I got someone on the line.
Super nice person who told me they could definitely assist, but I would have to come by one of their branches before 4 PM. I took off from work early and went there. Once there (after again standing in line…) I was told that there was no way they could assist.

These guys don't know what they're doing (as evident in their many scandals). Avoid in favor of some other bank.

Switched to another bank
We just closed our accounts after 11 years at Danskebank. Sometimes i found it very difficult to work with them and receive a proper advice. For the past 2.5 years i had 5 different advisers and I only met one of them when we bought our house.
You get proper online/telephone support but I highly recommend smaller banks and it took me all these years to switch to another bank! Now i can talk and meet my adviser and she's giving us proper/professional response, something that was really missing at Danskebank.

The worst bank I have ever seen in my life. I applied for the bank account. After two weeks I visited the bank and they told me that I had to wait a few days longer because they had a lot of applicants. Moreover they promise to call me if something will change.
Then I came a few days later (because nobody called me) and they told me that I am not in the system. However, they gave me contact to the department responsible for new applicants and they told me that my case will be priority.
However, they started to ask for a lot of additional documents and after two days I finally gave up.
To be honest they just waist two weeks of my time.

Danke Bank in N. Ireland will not allow my wife to share my account as a joint account because she is living in England with me not N. Ireland !!. Despite being a excellent customer for over 30 years this is their policy no exceptions no explanation. I did complain but the Danske Bank in N. Ireland simply said it was policy to decline anyone from the rest of the UK. ! Staff in the bank agreed with me it was ridiculous but that鈥檚 Danske bank policy . The only solution was for her to separate from me and move to N Ireland .! They reply here this is Danske bank Denmark but there is no Trust pilot reviews for N Ireland . Danske bank is one bank they seem to not understand .I even complained as the answer below suggested but just got a short note saying it was policy !
