Even though they (theoretically) have my phone number, if you're not at home, forget it. The delivery driver will ring your doorbell then leave, using the excuse they had no delivery cards, so they couldn't leave the item with a neighbour. I'm supposed to believe this has happened nine times now.
The item is then returned to Debenhams, who make no attempt to re-deliver, and you can expect to wait at least ten days for a refund. Meanwhile, they will charge your credit card any interest for the item you never received.
On the rare occassions they did manage to deliver, I received items of the wrong size from that which I ordered, and a pair of shoes threaded with two different lengths of laces and the security tag still attached – so I had to go into the shop to get that removed – defeating the whole point of ordering online.
Needless to say I have given up on their home delivery service.
The staff in the shop itself are nice and helpful and clearly trying their best, but home delivery is useless. I won't waste my time trying to use it again.

Items are easily found and ordered, and delivered by local MyHermes courier to the door within a few days. Very please and would recommend.

Whilst clearly you have dispatched my items within the agreed time, Yodel cannot stick to it. Use DPD or Royal Mail, even Hermes would be an improvement!

I have OCD of cleaning and order , so shopping doesn't appeal to me , however thanks to the following staff members who helped me by order of who served me first with kind worded support and guidance to finding what I required from that particular department.

These above named Debenhams store Oxford employees are a clear vision of what a stores employees should be and their words match their demeanour their body language .
They all give a clear indication of their knowledge of their job and they are very honest if they don't have an answer to a customers question they will honestly say they are not sure or that they will find out by asking their supervisor etc.
They present with a reassuring healthy smile which gives customers a reassuring experience during their shopping trip , regardless of how much a customer forgets where they are supposed to locate their preferred item of choice they still are happy and willing to positively remind the customer where they need to go to locate their item and if they are not occupied by serving another customer they very kindly offer to guide you to where you need to go to locate said preferred choice of item.
Its eye catching to witness how multi culturally diversitated Debenhams store employees are from
Black employees to Asian to white employees .
I think this is also a clear indication of how far debenhams has grown with its family of employees and yes somewhat 50 stores nationwide have shut down however there is a major misconception that debenhams had gone into liquidation , if this is true then why are the oxford and reading and other UK branches of debenhams store still active in business.
Please also keep in mind that due to online shopping a lot of employees are having to compete with online shopping through no fault of their own why as online retailers don't have to pay employees as literally you order online and then the warehouse receives the order and locates the item then its dispatched, however I ask you the public as debenhams customers would you prefer to order an item from debenhams online store without actually seeing the item or trying it on for size, or would you prefer to see , feel and read the label even try on the garment/ product item or check its quality , durability the material and also ask a actual human being debenhams employee in the debenhams department store for their recommendation of the garment /product etc whereby you receive an honest product review and you can ask open/closed questions?.
To conclude I most definitely will recommend debenhams store Oxford to all debenhams customers .
Please remember that just like some experiences in life not all experiences are negative , so yes perhaps some experiences with debenhams have been negative for certain customers in the past even present , however I ask did the customers do everything they could to politely conclude with an amicable solution to their debenhams store shopping retail experience, as patience is a virtue and as human beings we attain patience by maintaining our composure , so those customers who are not patient infact any human being who is not patient in life , is therefore a person who no-one can reason with and they most certainly will not hesitate to show their ego via their anger and will make sure they are centre of attention and they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong .
This is fact not fiction.
I request all those customers who have had negative experiences unfortunately with any of the debenhams uk stores to give debenhams a second chance just as I'm sure you have been given by others in your life .
We all are human so were all prone to errors, however it takes courage to admit when we are wrong and to give a second chance .
I mean no offence or distress or inconvenience to anyone by my lengthy review.

I bought what I thought would be a great birthday present for my wife – a 'Experience' pack to pamper herself at a Spa – a "Spa & Pamper". I explained at the time that it was a gift, and was therefore given a gift receipt; and I was told that it could be exchanged if it was not suitable.
However, when we got it home and examined it in more detail, we saw that it was only valid until the 1st December – a little over 4 months.
This was no good to my wife, as we were abroad for part of that time. So, I took it back to the Warrington store, who were entirely unhelpful. I explained the issue and said that I was perfectly happy to take a Debenhams Gift card in exchange (and to pay the difference). The assistant refused; and was unhelpful. I then asked to see the manager, so the assistant went, at my polite insistence, to fetch her.
The manager then made a point of walking past me, as if to make a point that she had more important things to do than actually deal with a customer.
Eventually, she came over and was equally unhelpful. All that she would do was to exchange it for another with an equally short usable date. She again refused my offer of taking a Debenhams card in exchange and me paying any extra. She tried to make some excuse that it was a concessionaire stand; so I explained to her that as I had paid Debenhams, I had bought it from Debenhams, not one of her suppliers. She was insistent that she would not help further. She said that he name was Katie.
Lessons learned – don't buy anything from Debenhams. Coincidentally, I had just bought a new pair of glasses from Vision Express and, in total contrast to Debenhams, Vision Express have give me excellent service. Happy to recommend Vision Express; happy to suggest that you don't touch Debenhams with a barge-pole.
Incidentally, I see that Debenhams has lots of bad reviews on Trust Pilot. I wished that I had read the reviews before shopping there. We have in the past spent a small fortune at Debenhams – not any more.

they then so as not to lose the sale went ahead and ordered me a size 11!!!!!
mistakes happen, but now they tell me "you have to wait" because the status of the parcel means we can not refund!!!
THEY HAVE TAKEN MONEY WITHOUT HAVING THE GOODS
THEN JUST ORDERED A RANDOM SIZE TO KEEP THE SALE!
WILL I EVER GET MY MONEY BACK, AVOID AT ALL COST , NO WONDER THEY FAILED , RIPPING CUSTOMERS OFF AND KEEPING THEIR MONEY

You can order items but don't deliver and come up with every excuse possible no wonder they are in trouble will go elsewhere so I can get the items that are ordered terrible firm and dreadful customer service

Secondly I wanted to register my change of email this couldn't be done verbally. Not good for a very OAP.
Now three days later they rang me with the offer of a replacement in the correct size for which I must pay but with a 拢3 discount. I just gets worse. I voucher would have helped……

I have used Debenhams many times in store over the years, but made an online purchase for some (in stock) clothing items. Apart from taking over a week to deliver (via Hermes), the package arrived in a box completely split open. The courier apologised for the state of the package and suggested I check the contents. The parcel was labelled with (my) correct address but contained a North Face shoulder bag contained within a (ripped) plastic bag. The bag itself was labelled and addressed to what appears to be a different customer. It may have been that an item had been picked at the warehouse and then put in the wrong delivery parcel. But that is not the nub of my issue here. Items can and do get mixed up. I contacted Debenhams suggesting I email them all the incorrect documentaion I received with pictures of the damaged package (from Hermes) so they could take it up with them. In a nutshell the call centre was not interested in the state of the parcel and whether the contents belonged to someone else or whether Hermes had taken of the deivery. Not a bit of it. They were just going to send me replacements. It seems to them its a throw away world… That is not what I call good customer care. They should take a leaf from another major high street online retailer who's motto is "never knowingly undersold …. you know the one I mean.. No wonder Debenhams is developing a poor reputation.. There is only one way for them.. and its down…..
