This a good camera review and discussion site, secondarily a news site, if only because they lag other sites in news updates. The reviews are done well, even though they don't actually do many in a given time-frame. But in the forums, it's fine unless you run afoul of the moderators who range from tolerant to lock-step minions with no appreciation of context. This is probably due to policies from their corporate owner, Amazon. Corporations don't like controversy and anything that deviates from a fine-line. If you want more free-ranging discussion on cameras, go elsewhere.

Information relevant to photography!

And that tells you all you need to know. Some of the articles are interesting (but largely available elsewhere), many are irrelevant to photography or just recycling other people's PR. You'll have to decide for yourself to what extent you trust the product reviews on a site owned by Amazon. There's a famous Ferengi mantra that may apply.

When I asked my friend for help in choosing a camera, he introduced dpreview to me. As a amateur, I was overwhelmed with information and I didn't know there are some much to know about a camera other than clarity!

Many useful reviews that are very detailed to help anyone to choose the best camera for themselves!

This site is so useful I can't even express it with words. Although I am an amateur I have learned so much just by browsing the forums. Excellent!

The forums on Dpreview are really good. People really know their stuff, and consistently give good advice on cameras, lenses, accessories, and the site regularly provides professional reviews of all the newest equipment

They have great reviews of the stuff that I want. I wanted to get a Fujifilm XF and they had real world pics so that I could see exactly what I was getting.

Excellent source of digital photography equipment evaluations. New and proposed equipment specs/test results are posted almost daily.

I rate it as suspicious due to the denial of Free Speech by registered users due to an over sensitive moderator.

However, the Comment moderator is very sensitive if one injects politics into the discussion. Some discussions, such as Return on Investment for investors of photographic equipment manufacturers as evidenced by decisions for future development lend themselves to political ideology…but the moderator will ban users quickly.

I was banned permanently for using the word "faggoott" when discussing the subject/content of a winning photograph of an international contest. I had been temporarily banned for using terms like "American Exceptionalism" when discussing American technology when discussing an article they had regarding NASA photos from the Apollo moon landings…now that I think of it, the international appeal of the web-site is probably what drives the moderator to eschew anyone espousing American Exceptionalism. In the modern era of "thought control" by Liberals, no one is allowed to brag about being better than anyone else.

I post comments on many news, political and technical websites (tech web-sites tend to be less "political comment tolerant" even if FCC rulings on Net Neutrality is an article on the website)…but have only been permanently banned on this web-site. I have appealed to the moderator, and tried registering under other identities, and have been denied posting privileges each time.

Updated 27JUN2015.
Using a Win7 computer with Kaspersky AV and the FireFox Browser with the following Add-ons, nothing nefarious is reported which is not adequately managed:

AdBlock Plus
FlashStopper
Ghostery
NoScript

As a Conservative, open to debate, I am constantly frustrated by Liberals who only allow free speech if it agrees with their stance.
