Durnford Transport does not exist. SCAM !!!

Trevor T Walker is claiming to be selling a 1969 Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner via internet in Hayden ID. He is using Durnford Transport, George Riva sales rep, to collect the money by wire and deliver the vehicle. Their website is very realistic but don't believe it , it is a big time SCAM !! None of it exists.

Car sale scam

I replied to an add for a 1959 Cadillac Biarritz convertible listed on www.hotclassicdeals.com listed for $48,600. On 1/31/18 I received an email from a Dr Trevor T Walker/ emergency medicine specialist/ Medical corps RAMC (EMAIL [email聽protected]) with information and pictures of the car. He stated that the car was priced for a quick sale for a divorce settlement. The car was located in a transport company, Durnford Transport in Hayden Ohio (www.durnfordtransport.com) ready to be shipped anywhere in the USA. I agreed to purchase the car at a negotiated price of $45,600. He then informed me that he was out of the country and had contracted the transport company to be the intermediary in the transaction. They had the clear title. I was instructed to go to durnford transport website and register. Once I did that he would instruct the company to initiate the transfer. I followed the instructions. A representative of Dunsford Transport, George Riva contacted me by email and later by phone (1-888-850-1883). Mr Riva explained that he would send me a BILL OF SALE and PURCHASE CONTRACT for me to sign. Once I signed it and returned it to him he would send me wiring instructions. Once I wired the full purchase amount to Durnford Transport the money would remain in escrow and the car will be shipped. Once I received the car I had seven days to inspect the car. If I found the car was misrepresented or not to my expectations the will pick up the car at no extra charge and refund my full purchase amount. If I agreed to accept the car the money would then be transferred to the seller.

I reviewed the two documents and noticed several inconsistencies which made me suspicious. I researched the address provided and found that Durnford Transport does not exist in Hayden Idaho. The company's website was well made and stated it was >20 years in business. Also a search of dunsford transport shows that it's a British company opened in 2017. I contacted my attorney with my suspicions before signing or sending money. He performed an independent search and confirmed my suspicions. He instructed me to reply to the email requesting an independent escrow company, a copy of the registration, the divorce settlement agreement that pertains to the disposition of the vehicle. I also made them aware that I hired an independent photographer from wegolook.com to send me pictures of the car before it left the warehouse. Neither Mr Riva or Dr Walker replied to my request. The car does not exist, the place does not exist. It's a scam.

Used Car Purchase Through a 3rd Party Logistics Agency Scam

I too was just Scammed through a George Riva of Durnford Transport out of Hayden Idaho (All "Bogus Entities")….But because at the last minute I searched "Scamguard"…for George Riva/Durnford Transport/Car Purchases through a 3rd party agency…..I found the articles just before I was going to wire $12,500.00 through a bank to bank wire transfer. Everything seemed to be on the up and up (The price for the vehicle I planned to purchase was easily 15-20K underpriced) and everything I checked seemed to pan out. The Seller/Ernie Montagna was away on business working for The Discovery Channel as a drone operator and would not be back to the states until mid-June so a 3PL (3rd party logistics) company was hired to take care of the full purchase and shipping of my vehicle. As in other articles above, the car was owned by Ernie's Dad who was sick…was in great shape…and so on…I actually went so far as filling out the "Bill-Of-Sale" and "Contract" Documents and received back from George Riva, a final invoice with instructions as to how to send the money (Even with bank account #'s)…So happy/lucky I researched further before sending money!

Using a 3rd Party Agency for a used car purpose

I was contacted via email by a Mr. Ernie Montagna who was selling his Dad's 1957 Chevy Nomad. Ernie worked for Discovery Channel as a drone operator, was not going to be back in the US until June and thought that a 3rd Party Logistics/Shipping Company was the best way to sell his Dad's car!…Because of the amazing price of $12,500, I was taken in, transferred funds around in my accounts and was ready to send $'s via Bank to Bank Wired funds. Today George Riva called to ask when the funds would be forthcoming….I asked him about shipping and other costs I may have and he said "Nothing But The $12,500!…..That's when I began to search further for possible scams recently and "Scamguard" has come to the rescue!
