DVLA as a whole are a complete joke and waste of time. I cant even be bothered to waste any more of my time so just read the other comments because being a complete joke is a recurring theme with them.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly DVLA sent new driving licenses for my wife and myself as required 10 year renewals next Jan. From completing on line to receiving took less than a week. The on line process is straightforward though you do need to have a valid passport as the updated photo comes from that and have your NI details to hand.

The GOV.UK website is a joke. Trying to do my Wife's driving licence for change of address and when you have got to the end it says the session has expired. This has happend so many times before and I dont understand i enter all the information so fast how it can just do this. Its absolute joke and frustration and time wasting tool. When I did mine the other day had same issues eventually it work. Once it was done the service was very good and got my licence within a couple of days. But its just this part that's comes up at the end.

I wish there was a button for rating not applicable. Because the service DVLA customer service provides is absolutely crap. First they pretend not to hear you and then triple check with information and just for adding provisional is 6-8 weeks which is absolutely scam. Doesn't take that long to review for provisional on existing licence. I dont even know if anyone can report them for rudely disconnecting my call.

If I could give zero stars I would. I applied for a provisional a year and six months ago now. Had someone at MOT office check over the form and stamp it for approval, this was March 2019. They have since requested further information three times (my GP has already filled in two forms) yet they want more. Why can't they just ask for what they want first time around? It's been a year and half trying to get my licence and I just received another letter asking for more information with long periods in between, so I've given up and cancelled the application. I will also mention that the customer service staff I've spoken to have had a confrontational and unfriendly tone. They really don't care about their customers at all

This is bad am trying to get through to this sham of a service have been on the phone for 1 hour no answer even though they said 10 minutes max this isn't fit for purpose and now I have to go out so I've wasted time and money

This is absolutely disgusting!! This is a disgrace and a shame! I have sent in my marriage certificate, driving license for a change of name. I can't renew my passport, can't drive. This is really disgusting. No phone, no e-mail, I have no idea where my documents are. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Return the documents! What is the point of keeping us hostages?

Totally agree with everyone else on here. Employ people that want to help. You are providing a customer service. Put yourself in our shoes. Not our fault its covid for gods sake. Obviously all sat working at home not giving a damn yet getting paid. Get t your act together . Waste of time having a telephone helpline The most unpleasant unhelpful staff ever. No compassion. Dont care, listen, understand your situation or try to help. Just abrupt and couldn't care less.

If I could give less I would. My elderly neighbour has been trying to use to update a health issue. She did really well but got to the end and it said files uploaded and then nothing. I tried and the same happened. My daughter tried and the same thing happened again. We have had to leave this lady who has recently been bereaved to try and call on the phone later, knowing full well that she will be sitting in a queue. It doesn't say you need two gadgets yet you have to scan the code from one so need phone also to do this. Awful system and difficult even for technically aware. Come on DVLA….it's not that hard. Get somebody to write you a decent FRIENDLY system. There are lots of people out there who are probably more able then the person who has written this piece of software.

Shocking shocking shocking
Have been waiting for provisional licenses since Jan 2020,Nobody to talk to, not returning emails, no online chat. Finally gave and have spoken to my local MP Victoria Prentice and has said she will be looking into this on our behalf. Shocking service should all be ashamed of themselves, just another government body going to hell in a hand cart

Useless service, don't waste your time trying to renew a licence online, I went to a local post office, filled in the form, had my photo taken there, paid 拢21.50 total, got a receipt from the desk which gives me proof of payment etc, took about 10 mins all in, wasted far longer than that trying unsuccessfully to do it online, well done the post office!!

Sent my driving licence for an address update at the beginning of June and haven't received it back until now. I am leaving the country and won't be able to drive due to this. It's a useless service with terrible CS people. I've never seen more stupid people chosen to do CS. I guess it's complimentary with the service provided. Hopefully, I'll get my licence at some point….

Quite possibly the worst company / service i have ever had to deal with. Cannot reach anyone 3 months on – licence checker does not work which is a legal requirement for my insurance company. DVLA are quick to fine ppl and over charge you for services yet a ghost service for anything else. MPS need to take notice and sack these goons off

I posted my driving licence on 30/03/20 to renew with a new photograph as it was due to expire on 14/05/20.
After sending an e-mail I received an automated response due to COVID-19 some staff were working from home and therefore could not provide any form of response back to me.
To date (23/07/20) whilst the whole country has been back to work for apx 8 weeks I still cannot contact anyone and still have not received my renewed licence – what is happening / have you received it / when will I receive my renewed licence.

Absolutely disgraceful! I sent my driving license more than 3 months ago just for a change of address and still nothing! I need to rent a car urgently and I鈥檓 unable to do so, I can鈥檛 drive abroad, nothing! At least they could have the decency to return my driving license if they are unable to work when the rest of the country is working as usual. Covid is not an excuse for laziness! What an embarrassment of a government company you are.Hope you will pay for all the waste of money and enormous amount of stress you are causing me by holding my driving license against my will for more than three months

I have sent my ID documents, my passport, 7 weeks ago and still have no clue where it is or even if they have done anything with it. There is no contact with dvla whatsoever, no number works, no email or any webchats. I need my passport for holiday and cant even find out where it is. They just blame EVERYTHING on covid 19. It's a joke!

Wouldn't even give one star. DVLA still blaming covid 19 for there incompetence. They say they are only dealing with key workers but are still quite happy to take the 拢35 for a provisional knowing they can't be bothered to sort it or even answer the phones.
Absolutely disgusting. I bet they are still managing to send out fines though eh! Should be ashamed of yourselves.

I sent my aplication to DVLA, and it's 3 months that I still waiting. I called them to ask how long time I need to wait, and they said – we don't know. Why do you keep these documents at DVLA, to destroy the people's families?

I sent an aplication to them 2 months ago, and still not sign to come back. I've sent also my passport for checks and is still there. I had an emergency and I called them to send me the passport ASAP, nothing. Actully my passport it's sequestered. TERRIBLE PEOPLE

It's a shame that a government body can't even show example of good customer service.
I think covid 19 just an excuse for dvla and other government bodies. To do even worst then before. This department never been a fair player.
