This government department is just there to belittle everyone who is forced into dealing with them the automated service that asks you to confirm NI no etc is fixed into reading back wrongly even when you read slowly and carefully and give phonetic spelling of letters and numbers they keep you waiting deliberately while they file their nails and scratch their arses they arethe same principle as parking wardens I waited 45minutes 5times and still they never answered it's obvious what they are doing how do they do this job and sleep at night there is no respect for people who are desperate very ill and the system is driving people into poverty and in many cases suicide the firm ATOS employed by the government is taking in millions just to tell everyone and I mean EVERYONE that they are fit to work crist now's how these bsleep at night they have no consciousness this is the type of thing that went on in the Jewish concentration camps during the war I'm sorry but I'm just doing my job it's time to reform this practice and start treating people with respect until then rebellion is on the cards and change need's to happen

Needed to contact them on behalf of my brother. How dare they think that holding on for 28 minutes is acceptable! Dreadful institution only just surpassed by HMRC.
Unfortunately there are 3 UK government institutions that to my mind are out of control and unaccountable in any way shape or form and namely in the following order:
1. HMRC
2. DWP
3. DVLA
All three should be bottom kicked from here to Timbuktu.

Got told I'd have a call back by think was the payments processing team for an overpayment of my benefits.

They never got back to me, thanks now I will have to stress about this over the weekend!

The DWP are utterly useless!

Really really bad.
Say they care about mental health when they dont. Aparently my dad trying to get an advance payment to help me get back to the doctors for mental health isnt a good enough reason to have one yet they let him have one last year to get me rehoused?

After 5 minutes of automated voice recordings the line goes dead, tried about 10 times now to speak to someone & all with the same result.

I have been waiting for 2 months, I don't know what benefit I should be on, each time they deny me, but I am not working, or in employment, yet I am not entitled to anything and left without income though no fault of my own.

Rang DWP this morning and spoke with a lady named Joanne regarding non payment of father in laws pension.
She was a credit to the department going above and beyond to solving our problem, bearing in mind we rang on Monday to be told they couldn't do anything because my father in law wasn't with us and we needed to be with him. He is in a care home under lockdown which made it impossible.
I wish I took her surname as she needs recognition for her professionalism.

Applied online for New Style Job Seekers Allowance on Saturday 28th March, recieved a text straight away to say they have received my application and do not call, we will call you.

Now 7 weeks later….I have called them most days and either get put on hold for hours or get cut off.

I have had no call back, no letter. Nothing!! It's frustrating that you cant speak to anybody at all!!

I'm getting to the point now where I'm starting to seriously struggle! 🙁

trying to report a change in circumstance.. over the phone – thought that would be quicker than using the royal snail. nope – can't get through, granted i've only been on hold for 44 mins and counting (granted others have had to wait longer and had more aggro) but jesus christ, haven't they got temp staff in or staff working remotely to help shield calls? Wouldn't mind being on hold for so long but with a 4.5 year old kid who's worse than a springer spaniel on a bad acid trip, bouncing around in the background, purposely playing up coz mummy's on the phone and she has no back up either…. i'm getting a wee bit annoyed at being on hold now.

I have just started to claim for UNIVERSAL CREDIT and found everything okay until I tried to prove my identity with DIGIDENTIYi just cannot get beyond my email address they keep claiming that it is in use of course it is it is the one I have been using for the past ,5years. I am truly trapped my claim will go nowhere until my I'd is sorted DWP PLEASE SORT OUT THE ID PROBLEMS THIS COMPANY IS CAUSING DIGIDENTIFY ARE THE WEAK POINT IN YOUR SERVICE.

My experience is the same as everyone else's, can't get through on the phones, I've been trying for over a week, I've put notes on the journal and they won't call me back, it's disgraceful.

They did not check the proof of childcare payment I sent in due time (Second of March) They asked me to resend them on the 24th , which I did on the same day. Then on the 29th they still didnt verify them, therefore I received no help for it, and cannot pay the nursery.
2 weeks ago I called and they said they just didn't have time to check and approve the documents, So i left it for a bit, because I know it is a tricky situation lately but now whenever I want to call , its either engaged, or it felt like someone hung up on me twice . (I go through the switchboard and then it hung up)
There is no information about whats happening for them , for us, who is handling the calls etc… they seem extremely disorganised.
I left many messages on my journal online, but no answers . What is going on?

I need to arrange a first appt. My hair is going grey through trying..and worry finally after hours..Didn't get cut off.. but then put into a queue.. and waiting.. and waiting . No idea if I'll be here all day. All week?? No number in queue indicated. I think it's time you could arrange appts on line?..I know it's an unprecedented time and must be stressful for call handlers too .but put it on line guys save every one lot of stress ?

Have been calling. Everyday and no answer!!! If you can鈥檛 cope with the number of applicants change the way to register for first appointment! Ridiculous

Called 15 times and have been hung up on every time. Finally got through to the queue spent an hour on it while entertaining a 2 year old and they hung up on me again. The only people calling are new claimants trying to book an interview (a requirement for a new claim). I know they are busy but if they can't manage to answer a phone call then they need a different system as this is not working.

Just spent 7 hours on hold to job centre, managed to get through just to hear the lady on the other side say she couldn't hear me and then hangup. Just joined the back of the que again 0_0 I work in the events industry. Obviously this has been massively affected by the coronavirus.
