Elmhurst Toyota

This has to be one of the worst, most unethical new car dealerships I have ever been to. I visited this dealership having already done all the research I needed to in order to buy a 2017 RAV4 XLW AWD for my daughter. This may be a long review, but trust me you want to read it before you think about doing business with these guys – and I have pictures to prove how dirty they are.

I immediately told the sales person that I had NO time to waste, I know what options I wanted, I knew the color that I wanted, I knew the sticker price of the car I want, I had 2 offers that were aggressive and I was willing to buy on the spot if they offered the best price. Obviously they wanted to know what offer I had and I said no. I was not going to waste time going back and forth to have each dealer beat the other offer by $50. They had a shot to give me an aggressive price -if its good I buy. If it's not I walk. The car they had had a sticker price of $30,352, which is the same as the other dealerships. I asked for the out the door price – including ALL tax, title, plates, etc. I felt like they knew I was serious and was initially encouraged when they came back with an out the door price of $27,133. It was close to the lowest price and very competitive-enough so to make a counteroffer. I told the sales guy if they accept $26,500 I will buy it now. He asked me to sign on that offer – which I did. He came back and said they best they could do is $26,816. It was $100 better than my lowest offer, so, I accepted verbally and called my daughter so we can wrap up the deal.

This is where these dirt bags go completely unethical. As we are writing up the deal and discussing upgrades like auto start etc, these scum bags pull a classic "bait & switch". They now tell me the offer they made was not on the car we test drove, but the base model with a lower sticker price! Keep in mind…we never discussed or looked at another car other than the one with a sticker price of $30,352. The funny thing is that unbeknownst to them I took a cell phone picture of both the deal sheet of the car we were discussing as well as the offer they asked me to sign which documents the "deal". If I can, I will post the images so you (as well as the dirt bags at Elmhurst Toyota) can see what a bunch of idiots they are.

Long story. I went to Oakbrook Toyota. Showed them the pictures and explained the story and bought the car from there. Folks, they experience is night and day. The two dealerships are close distance apart. Do yourself a favor and go to Oakbrook Toyota. They are so much more honest, ethical and fair to deal with. Bottom line. It's not worth the risk doing business with someone who will waste your time and is not honorable or honest.
