bought engine in Sept of 18. Within a week a major component failed. My mechanic said it should be covered/considered part of the engine block, engine-transmission claimed it was a blot on piece (not covered)

A week ago I called because i was having severe motor problems. Despite a 5yr, 50k mile warranty being advertised everywhere, they told me i had no warranty because i never "activated" it. Mind you, within the 1st week I filed a claim against them for the failed part they claimed was "bolt on".

Nothing in my email receipts or instructions said ANYTHING about having to activate a warranty. I talked to a few mechanics and, obviously, they never heard of such a thing either. Further, why wasn't my warranty "activated" once i filed my claim within 2 weeks of the motor being installed?

They simply do not back up their advertisements, at all. Now i have a blown engine that lasted me only 1 and 1/2 years.

I spent $17,000 on a the 2 Diesel motor from these but holes. Now, I need a third. I purchased a motor, was bad after the install, they sent a second motor which failed after install and I had to hire mechanic to do repairs just to get the motor going, I drove it a few months and Now the second motor went bad. I鈥檇 like see the owner get slammed by the State of WI attorney general.

i purchased an engine and paid $700 more for it because I thought the warrantee was worth the extra. the engine came and was in the process of throwing a rod. I filed a claim and received a different engine with some damage to it. I asked for instructions for the install warrantee. I had installed the first one myself. They told me to send them an estimate from a certified shop, which I did, for $1500. In about a month I was refunded $440 for the install. Lots of emails went unanswered. I finally got ahold of warrantee department and was told, "we use the standard time book amount of 8.5 hrs. at $50/hr." So, I was confused as to why they needed an estimate if they were going to use a general time study rate. Had I known that they were not going to pay the cost of install, I would have done it myself. by not being clear, I lost over $1500 between the first install and paying a shop for the second one. Not very happy about the process. they could have just said, we allot 8.5 hrs. here is your check for $440 and I could have done it myself.
Bottom line, not really a warrantee, more like a subsidy.

At the request of my attorney i am writing this review! 3 months ago I purchased an engine from these people for 2800.00 dollars. Paid 800.00 to have installed and the engine was bad. Called roughly 50 times and sent no less than 40 emails before anyone ever responded. I sent in diagnostic report from mechanic as instructed and was told by Scott that a replacement would be tested and sent out in a week. That was almost 3 weeks ago! The shop that has my truck is now charging me 100.00 dollars per week storage and will still have to pay them an additional 800.00 Dollars to have replacement engine installed so right now my loss is 4800.00 dollars. This Friday I will be filing a civil suit against this company! I urge no one to buy from these people they are Scam artist. Scott is a liar, and chad whyte will not return your calls or emails. I have asked for management to contact me numerous times still nothing! by far the worst customer service that I have ever seen!

I ordered an engine for my 1998 F150 pickup on Aug 13, 2019. It says on the website it will delivered in 7-14 days. It is now Aug.28. I have heard nothing. I have tried calling 3-4 times, all I get is a recording that repeats with several different voices. I am not an impatient person, but I have need of my pickup to be repaired. I am a teacher and live in the country, besides having to get to work, I also take my 3 grandsons to school. This is not my idea of a properly run business.

i ordered an engine 1997 geo tracker i live in hawaii and they charged me an additional 450.00 to ship it which was ok
they asked the vin and mileage i provided that .however im installing this in a 1986 suzuki samurai .which i had professionally upgraded to this larger engine i lived in cali and had to get the car inspected and approved and smogged sin it was not the original engine well it passed they assigned me a plate on the post designating the engine switch and no problems with licensing or smogging the car i moved to hawaii again no problem licencing and passing a safety check .however they scammed me never sent the engine took payment .then late refunded my money never told me and said the motor got damaged in shipment . a lie they are also SW ENGINES .and did the same thing to me ordered an engine told me it got damaged in shipping and no more replacement engines
they are rude hung up on me . lied i went on line they still had that same engine after all this …i wish i could personally go visit them and have a one on one personal chat with the a holes who laughed and hung up on me .totally unprofessional.they think its funny to screw people around .what do they care what i do with the engine its used .i wanted a spare .this is a common engine conversion for suzuki samurais ..i would have waved the warranty .if that was the issue .but the would not allow me to talk and find out the real reason the jerked me around ………….this caused me to loose another engine from another supplier .they can go to hell im really upset.ive been in auto repair for 50 years since the 60s had my own shop for over 30 years in california .ive never met bigger jerks than these i hope they read this and have the balls to respond .

Out $1100.00 dollars and then some. I honestly don鈥檛 know how these people can sleep at night. But in my heart of hearts I know that what comes around goes around. Hard earned money that this company (scammers) are taking away from good honest people. My hubby and I busted our butts putting the engine in on our Dodge Ram Truck on hot, humid Georgia days in mid August 2018. The issue we had from the engine was a cracked block. Antifreeze was mixing with the oil. But the engine was running fine. The WARRANTY is a joke people. We have tried to contact them via phone and email. When trying to call, it will ring and ring and ring. We called on three different phones at the same time and still no one answers on the other end of the so called WARRANTY department. Left 2 Voicemails at 2 different times. No callbacks. Nothing. I regret not having done my research BEFORE we decided to purchase the engine. Boy did we Learn a lesson here. RESEARCH before buying. These days, you can鈥檛 trust ANYONE. I TRUELY hope if you are reading this that if you are looking to purchase an engine or ANYTHING from these bleeps, you will move on to ANY other LEGIT company. I rate them a ZERO ZERO ZERO, because they don鈥檛 even deserve a 1 star.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. They are the worst type of scammers. They are unethical, rude and unprofessional company/ people I have ever had dealings with. On 9-14-18 I ordered an engine from engine and transmission world (one of several company names they have used in the past) for my '03 Volvo V70 from their company web-site. The engine was shipped and eventually was sent to my mechanic. On 10-12-18, my mechanic called me and informed me that the engine was defective. My mechanic sent a detailed e-mail directly to "SCOTT" outlining the problem with the engine. A replacement engine was sent to my mechanic without warning. The replacement motor was not the correct engine for my vehicle. Again, my mechanic sent a detailed e-mail directly to SCOTT outlining the problem with the second engine sent to him. From 10-29-18 and 11-18-18 I called SCOTT five (5) times in an attempt to resolve the problems of getting a correct motor for my car, Each time I called SCOTT I left a voice mail including my cell# , e-mail address and invoice number. I did not receive a return call or e-mail from SCOTT or anybody from their company. On November 10, 2018, I left a Voice mail message for SCOTT outlining my desire to end and cancel our obligations due to the ongoing issues and problems outlined above. They failed to fulfill their commitment and services I paid for. Again, no response from SCOTT or the company's representatives. Today I called the company and after being transferred three times I was finally connected to SCOTT. I stated that I wanted to be reimbursed for the incorrect and defective engines that were sent to my mechanic. Also I wanted them to reimburse my mechanic for his services and labor cost for replacing the first (defective) engine. He said their labor cost calculations is $50/per hour and it takes 8.8 hours to install equaling $440.00. My mechanic costs of removing the old engine and replacement of the defective engine (and other engine components ) was $2351.48. SCOTT said that was all I was going to get even though they sent and supplied me with an incorrect and defective engines!! I said I wanted to speak to the manager, he states he was the warranty manager and that's the only person I was going to talk to. I then asked him to speak to the CEO of the company to voice my concerns. He said that I wasn't getting the name or contact information for the CEO of the company. Everybody I spoke to at that company appears to be incompetent in their ability to do a simple job. Their customer service is non-existent and they don't stand behind there products. Finally, SCOTT was sent e-mails and phone calls reference every problem(s) I had issues with the engines and labor costs. He choose to ignore those requests. Disgusting!!!

I wish I could leave less than a 1 star………this company also operates under the website engine-transmission.com . They shipped me a bad engine, and then said they would only pay my mechanic $410 to remove and replace the bad engine. Who would remove and replace an engine for $410? No mechanic I know. This is unacceptable. Oh, and not only that, but when I called to inquire about this, the guy (Scott) laughed at me and said good luck and hung up the phone.
It took us almost 3 weeks to get the first bad engine, and now 3 weeks after the replacement issued engine was ordered, it is about 9 days out. If you need to get back on the road, or heck even get a good replacement part, this is not the company/website for you. Oh, and another thing, you can't leave a review on their website, imagine that.

These guys are scam artists! When you agree to their contract online, it says that a 25% restocking fee will be deducted if you cancel for any reason! Doesn't matter if they have shipped the part or not. Not a reputable company. They have changed their company name to engineandtransmissionworld to cover up all the bad business they have done in the past as SWengines. Purchased an engine from them and then within one business day, discovered it was the same company, cancelled my order which was paid thru discover card and they are still trying to stick me with a $250 restock fee even though they had not even started to ship the engine yet.

We ordered a transmission, waited three weeks. Made numerals calls. No one knew what was going on. Our customer could not wait anymore. We found an other transmission and got it the same day. The transmission from the Engine and Transmission World arrived after the car was gone. We did not accept the shipment. The transmission went back. We could not get any refund.

Unfortunately there isn't a -100 star option.

These "people" (and I use the quotes liberally) are scammers who've changed their business name several times: Quality Used Transmissions, SW Transmissions, Engine & Transmission World, Racine Transmission, etc, etc. Looks like they are based in Racine, WI. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. They do not send items on time. They do not give full refunds for cancelled orders and claim a "25% restocking fee". LOL – how do you claim to "restock" something that never left your possession??!! They do not honor warranties and will give you the runaround, hang up on you, swear at you, etc. They have hundreds of online complaints, have an "F" rating on BBB, and are being investigated by the state and FBI. Absolute crooks and hope they burn in hell.

DON'T BUY from them. Not worth the hassle. They won't reimburse you for your labor when the engine breaks down. The engines are essentially junks. Buy at your own risk. This company has terrible customer service. No answers when you have a problem. You WILL BE IGNORED as they have caller ID. Both engines are junks and essentially they will avoid fulfilling their warranty terms by stating you need to buy everything else new. DON'T BUIY FROM THEM or YOU WILL ULTIMATELY be scammed! Their engines are junks.

I have had a horrible experience with your company. I bought a transmission for my 2003 Honda Element EX. It took almost a month for me to get my transmission initially that was delivered to a Honda dealership in installed by them as well. Within the first 2 weeks it seemed to have had a shifting problem. In which I took it back to Honda for inspection and apparently it triggered some soft codes which clear themselves. About A Thousand Miles later now the transmission is making a loud whining noise. I spoke to the warranty manager Scott Green today and he indicated that nothing can be done being that the warranty was not filed online after installation of the transmission. The Integrity of your parts should be more than an online paper trail. I do have documentation of mileage from when the transmission was installed until bringing it back to the dealership to address the whining noise which appears to be internally. I will never recommend anybody buying parts for you and will be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau along with contacting an attorney. Initially I received a 12 months 12000 mile parts and labor warranty. The transmission barely lasted a thousand miles and 3 1/2 months. Honda said they would work with me on labor costs if you would send me another part. Scott was rude and hung up with me at the end indicating he had the final say so in this matter end of story. They have the worst customer service I have never encountered in 55 years of my life and in my Professional Automotive career.

I asked for a quote. I received one via email and then another the next day offing a discount. I called and made a counter offer at which time the sales rep was very abrupt (causing serious doubts in my mind). I research the company and found an abundance of negative and nightmare reviews including the rep telling customers to F— off! I emailed the company about the abrupt treatment for making a counter offer and received this reply. "I was abrupt because you are a moron!" If they treat potential customers this way imagine what happens when they have your money! I found another company providing the same engine same miles similar warranty and at the price I offered. Thank God I followed my gut about this HORRIBLE customer service rep.

The engines that we have purchased seem to be low mileage units as advertised, the only problem we have encountered is the rust from these northern units and damage caused by shipping. The warranty is great if you can install said units in a timely manner, but if you have employee issues during this timeline you can void your warranty. I would like to see the time required to install said unit to be lengthened by a couple of weeks. At least on diesel units!!

Finding the right engine and making the purchase was easy and quick. The pricing was good for the type/brand of engine. Coordinating the delivery was just as easy. Once the engine arrived to the dealership and was installed, the mechanics at the dealership found that the engine needed critically damaged and worn parts replaced. They found that the worn parts would cause the same failure that I previously had or worse. I had them do the repairs. I submitted a warranty claim in March 2015. It is now July 2015 and I have not been contacted or made aware of any progress on my claim.

Great experience. Great communication. Customer service stayed in contact with me from start to finish. They shipped the engine to the repair facilty I selected. Engine shipped with no problem. Engine arrived looking like a brand new engine not used. The repair facility installed it and it runs like a new engine. Highly recommend!

I have purchased now 3 engines from you company for 3 different customers and the thing I do not like is how long it takes for the engines to actually get here. When I purchase them I am told 5 – 7 business days and not one of them has come in that time frame. I have been waiting almost a month for one of them to come after me having to call daily to check and push your staff on this. Also on another one we are trying to get a new one since we placed it in out customers car and it is making a knocking sound. Your company requested a video and I sent that to them 05/26/15 and have yet to hear anything from your company on this, again my customer is waiting. My company is about satisfying my customers needs in a prompt fashion and unfortunately I can not say that we share that same goal as my customers are always having to wait long periods of time. I was told on the engine that is taking almost a month that it was a freight problem so I am not sure if you need to take a look at your freight companies you use but unfortunately if this time frame continues to be like this my company will not be able to use your company.Hopefully this actually gets read and addressed and not just thrown away, if my business had a problem I would want to know about it ASAP so that I can fix it right away. Thank you for your time.

I searched for an engine for my 2003 GMC Envoy XL and Engine and Transmission World came up on my screen. The engine I bought had lower miles and cost less then the one my mechanic could find. The deliver seemed to take forever but I was kept informed on its process. Everything is installed and working as good as new.

When I discovered Engine and Transmission world on the net., I found the engine I needed, and got a quote in just a few minutes. The people in customer service were great, and I received my engine in less than 10 days, delivered right to my garage door. The engine was clean and painted with factory colors and it performs, like new, and with a 3 year warranty I was glad to know if the engine failed, another engine would be sent to me. Thanx Engine n Transmission World!
