6:35 PM. Been listening to their Hold music for 1:16:02. The purse insolence of this company is amazing. Most companies have the grace of calling you back when it's your turn, but obviously not E*Trade.
Tomorrow I move my 2.2M investment over to Raymond James.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to establish an account since December 鈥?it's now February! If I call them they put me on hold for hours. Right now I'm on their "live" chat and in a queue that started at 176 minutes! That's right, almost 3 hours for a "live" chat.
They put a hold on my account because they needed a couple more documents. That's fine, that's understandable. I sent the docs, they received the docs, they processed the docs, but then, they did not cancel the hold. I can't do anything with this account. They provide no reasonable service, yet their only business is to provide service.

E-trade makes too many mistakes that costs their customers thousands of dollars. What's worse is that it's impossible to communicate with their representatives in a respectable amount of time. 3 HOURS was the shortest wait I've ever had, and I've called them several times! Lastly, their staff don't understand stocks. I had to teach them before they could help me. RUN!

WHEN YOU BUY MARKET PRICE, it's supposed to sell it to you RIGHT AWAY, well that doesn't happen
Example I BUY TSLA AT 100 shares of TSLA at $800
Quickly it moves up to $810
Myself quickly too, sell at market $809
BUT THE BUG THEY HAVE PUTS MY MARKET PRICE ORDER ON THE SIDE, it never sells, because everything on your side FREEZES, so when everything comes back
Now TSLA is at $780
And instead of making a profit you end up WITH A BIG LOSS,
This same thing has happened to me 150 times

E-Trade was okay for the most part. Unfortunately, when it comes to saving my User ID, I have a very short memory. I don't save that info on to my computer for good reason.

So when I went back on E-Trade to recover my User ID, I was shocked that they didn't have my web address on record. I typed out my email address and they wanted me to verify my phone number. I put my phone number in, and they said they couldn't find it in the records, despite the fact that I had put my phone number in during the process of opening my damn account! I thought I may have made put in the wrong address, so I put in my second email address. They said if they found the address in their records, they would send me the ID within five minutes. Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes… NOTHING! As for customer service, FORGET IT! It's not even worth wasting my time.
E-Trade was good for me until it wasn't.

I've been calling to the customer service number and I wait for more than 2 hours yesterday and today and no one answer the phone and the Chat service is not available since at least last week. No way to contact customer service. My last call was one hour and no one answered. I took a picture because I couldn't believe this.

Everytime I call I'm on hold for 30 mins and never get a response. I tried to make a trade and it was blocked. It prompted me to call customer service. I tried to make the trade with the automated service and it was blocked. Waited on the line for a live person and never got a response.

It is stunning how bad the customer service is. Really. The wait to use the chat function can run 3 to 4 hours. Reaching them by phone may be as bad — I've never waited long enough to find out. Why use Etrade when it has competitors whose customer service is so much better?

They don't answer-wait times are unlimited no communication- they lock your money up after you buy in stocks – then tell you you're missing information. When you Send in information, days later they haven't corrected the issue. You watch your stocks go up and then crash with out being able to do anything.

I am so upset and completely mind boggled as to
What happened to my account. This was on Dec. 2/20:20 my days gain showed 7,017,395.81. I was told that it did not happen. I asked for paper copies of what went on. Of course I was told 17, there was no way that my account could of reached that much, although I had one stock with a 9,900% gain with 1,250,000 shares. I am just in a space I never would of thought I would be. It recycled the next day and the profit gains was gone POOF! Where did it go? I have called for auditor of accounts to send me specifically what happened and still nothing. I don't know what to do? Can anyone help.

I waited or 37 minutes or help the 1st time. I was trying to navigate their site. I tried again and gave up after 20+ minutes trying to open an account or my kids. I also tried their chat. Service is not a priority or this company even to open a new account!

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever. Nonsensical message responses, rude and useless chat employees, 3+ hr wait times for customer service, broken website etc. etc. etc. Truly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Have been trying for over a month to do one simple task.

Do not invest with this brokerage firm. Horrible customer service. No accountability of your money. My account continued to have auto deduct from my bank account even after I stopped using this firm. You can not log in or call/chat to stop this auto payment. My chat wait time showing 127 minutes. No response over phone over 1 hr.

If I could give a zero star, I would. This is the worst of the worst brokerage firm with impossible long wait time. Try to get your money or transfer to another brokerage, you are in trouble. They will reject your request for reasons not communicated in their message, then you need to call customer service when they disconnect you or have you wait for over an hour then someone picks it up in India who can't do anything and then she transfers to another department who doesn't pick up the phone and you get disconnected. I always hoped ETrade would go out of business as they deserve it.

This is a company absolutely determined to make everything difficult. From impossible long account verification times, to hours-long hold times for customer service, to near AOL-like impossibility to cancel one's account, that's ETrade.

The bright side? Their competitors know this as well. Services like Robinhood have a customer-first approach.

Once day I'll figure out how to successfully close my ETrade brokerage account. For now, I'm not willing to endure the misery or time commitment.

I have what is likely a simple question about trading and I can't find info on their site. I've been on hold for 40 minutes and now to chat it says my wait time is about 76 minutes! Time to bring back your furloughed workers or are the profits just that good. What a joke! Not that they'll care, but I'm pulling my money out – screw this.

Their platform will mess you up real bad, I almost lost $79k to them, I was able to recover loses with the help of the debtadvocate team at debtadvocate. C O, They helped me get all I lost back in a couple of weeks

I traded with about 2 different brokers. They whine about how they would get me quick returns by auto trading. But when it was time for me to withdraw my profits then my account became inactive. And my account manager blocked me, Thanks to MrAndre who helped me through a recovery process. I was able to get my principal investment back. Report similar case to [email protected] Com. Avoid bad back and worse scam recovery website

E*trade is the worst broker to use when it comes to any kind of trading, they are an out dated dinosaur.

Your orders will never get filled on time, they almost never have shares to borrow for shorting, customer service is non-existent, has terrible software.

I wish I could give it negative 5 stars.

Absolute trash of a broker and company.

I have been using eTrade for years, they restricted my account recently and i am trying to reach them through call and chat but no luck…waiting 10+ mins still no luck…there is no other way to reach them out and my funds are stuck…this is terrible and unacceptable…I will not recommend E*TRADE to anyone due to this terrible experiance
