The external hard drive on my MacBook crashed.

I鈥檝e never had this happen before. It literally made me sick, as if I had a traumatic physical injury. I couldn鈥檛 wrap my brain around why or what I鈥檇 lost. Or, what I could do to recover it.

Prior to this, I relocated for career advancement to an unfamiliar region of the country. I did not know anyone to help me or what I needed to do.

Fortunately, Field Data Recovery made it easy for me. In my search for help, and in my experience with their team, it鈥檚 clear they are in business to serve. It was easy for me, no hassle at all. They kept me informed and assured me they know what they are doing. Complete recovery of my data!

This company is a joke! They Charged me $1500 to recover my data and they failed. Mr Cass Davis told the plate of the drive is in good condition and they need to order head parts to recover data from it, it took 3 weeks, which is also crazy. Then they told me that 3 attempts of recovery failed so I asked for refund. Mr Cass Davis told me that I paid for attempts to recover it and I wont get any refund. However I just read their terms and conditions and it clearly says if they wont be able to recover files they will issue refund.

DO NOT TRUST THEM !!

My hard drive crashed and I needed my work files as I hadn't backed them up on an external drive. Nobody could recover the data such as any local vendors. I searched and found Fields Data Recovery website and filled out a quick explanation of what happened.
I promptly received a phone call from them and decided to give it a try. This company was very fast and efficient and there was always a person there to answer my call or call me to update me. Very smooth process and they recovered all that I needed. Love the personal touch and quality customer service they provided. I would highly recommend them!

This is my experience with fields-data-recovery.com:

I sent my failed drive, and got back a new drive with most all of my data intact. These guys were quick to tell me that they could recover my data, and sent me a listing of all my folders and files to review before I had to pay.

Like an idiot, I made two mistakes:
1. I didn't replace the battery in my UPS, so my computer was not protected.
2. I didn't backup my data.

My computer received a voltage spike, and the UPS with the dead battery couldn't switch over to protect my computer. The drive head must have been sitting on the partition table, because the partition is what got damaged, rendering the drive completely unreadable.

I guess these guys were able to either write a new partition without wiping the data, or they were able to scavenge the remaining data off of the drive.
Either way, I got my data. It was a bit on the expensive side, but my data is important to me.

Rules, kiddies:
1. Always use a UPS.
2. Always keep the UPS battery in working condition.
3. Always do backups of all your data.
4. If you don't do 1, 2, and 3, and your drive goes bad, contact fields-data-recovery.com.

Fields Data Recovery made the best of our not so great situation. External hard drive wouldn't connect and turned out to be a bad component on the drive. We had two companies provide a price one gave a hard number no more no less whether data was recovered whereby Fields Data Recovery provided a price along with a list of all the files that could be recovered. Got all our old family photos and work files back with a new drive for just under what the other company was charging. Great customer service, highly recommend. Also recommend you don't put all your family photos on an old external hard drive!

Very fast and reliable. I had a hard drive that crashed and seemed to be more than a stuck head. I had thought I had it backed up but found out I did not. Many pictures and important files would have been lost forever. Fields Data was upfront and in constant communication with me. In less than a week they recovered my data and sent me a new drive. A real life saver. I can't thank you enough.

They recovered my data without any problem. But the amount I was quoted over the phone to retrieve my date was nowhere near what I eventually paid. What choice did I have at that point, I needed my data. They sent me my essential data quickly so I could be up and running but when I received the drive that was to have all the data I requested, all of it wasn't on there and I had to call to get the rest of my data. I was just relived to get my data back.

Really accomplished what my in house IT could not, recovered all my data from the Hard drive and saved me months of trying reacquire all my information.

Great customer service, a little disappointed that for the price not more data could be recovered (80%), specially some important folders. But i guess that how it is. Overall happy to have some files back.

I dropped a hard drive that had thousands of family pictures, videos and other stuff. Fields Data Recovery was able to get most of the data off of my hard drive I am thankful to them.

I was very pleased with the customers service which was excellent in every way. Most importantly, I was pleased that they were able to recover my data and return it to me in promptly (about 10 days).
My only complaint is that the price went from the $250-500 estimate range before sending the drive to $750. In all fairness, I was warned ahead of time that it was not an actual estimated, but most jobs were in that price range. Ultimately, I was happy with the price I received.

Fields Data Recovery was friendly and efficient and, most importantly, successfully recovered all my data, despite my laptop hard drive being harder to recover than we initially thought it would be. The price seemed very high, but they called me throughout the process to explain what was happening and what they had to do which I appreciate. Also, to be fair, the price may have been cheaper compared to many alternative businesses, I just don't know.

Fields Data Recovery was awesome! They recovered data off my non-functioning external drive. It was loaded with years of priceless family photos. Fields Data Recovery kept informed and up-to-date from start to finish. They followed up to make sure I received my recovered data. Everyone I talked to was knowledgeable and polite. I was very pleased with their service.

Unable to recover data off a flash drive I could no longer access, my IT service gave me contact information for Fields Data Recovery. Fields responded promptly to my email, and as they were local, I was able to drop the flash drive off in person. The staff was friendly and I was contacted within 48 hours of what would need to be done to recover my data and the pricing. I had been informed that it would be expensive, and as I didn't need it expedited, I chose the lowest priced option. Expecting to wait three to four weeks, I was pleasantly surprised to receive my files back in less than a week. Everything seemed to have been recovered (including data I had forgotten was on the flash drive) and accessible. I was extremely relieved that I did not have to reconstruct any of those files.

I don't normally respond to surveys or reviews, but since you were able to recover all of the data from years of accumulated files that were on my damaged drive, I felt a "thank you" is warranted. It was distressing for me to face the potential of losing all of those files. After I realized that it takes more than the local teenage, techie wannabe to do what you folks do, I was appreciative that you were able to retrieve all of them, so I was willing to pay for that service. I saw the ad for Fields Data Recovery on the internet and called them. They were very helpful and explained the process thoroughly. I had put this drive away several years ago after it failed when I learned it might cost as much as $1800.00 to recover several hundred photos on the drive. The price estimate was reasonable so I shipped the drive to Fields. I am very happy with the result and will recommend Fields to anyone needing this service.

What can I say? The client's data was recovered from seriously damaged drive. Good Job! In particular, our Account Manager, Emily was awesome and did a great job getting us through this difficult time.

The only downside to the process was something which cannot be helped. Any estimate provided before a recovery vendor receives the damaged hard drive will likely be wrong. The amount of damage a drive sustains can cause the recovery price to increase significantly and it felt like we were not really prepared for the actual cost of the recovery. However, this would likely be the same situation with any recovery vendor and should not be held against Fields Data. It's easy to hear the lower, average cost of the recovery quoted in the beginning and perhaps some more cautionary information about worse case scenarios might be helpful.

Ultimately, the good news is Fields Data Recovery was able to obtain good data for the client which got them back up and running. On that point, Fields Data Recovery did a wonderful job! Rebuilding everything from scratch would have cost a lot more in the long run so thanks again!
