My name is Gaurav. I am from India but I have citizenship in Australia. In India, we usually build a house once and for life, so we want it to be excellent. I have a big villa in Melbourne that needed to be furnished. It is not difficult to find good quality furniture here, but if you find it, it is usually pretty expensive. I wanted my house to be in classic style, and I鈥檝e heard from my cousin who went to China 3 years ago that there was a great choice of classic style furniture in there. So I started browsing the internet. The first option was a private-translator that could take me to any place I want and help me with the communication but that was all they provided. The second one was the company. It was a bit more expensive but they provided free-transfer, a manager-translator, and logistic service. I decided to contact them and ask about all the details.
As there were going 5 of us: my mother, my wife, my son, a nanny and me, I was worried about documents for a visa. I鈥檝e heard that Indians need an invitation letter for China but later the manager Alena said that as I had Australian citizenship, my family and me could come with the usual tourist visa.
She also explained to me how I can apply for a visa and answered all my other questions. They felt professional, experienced and focused and I could trust them. Moreover, I didn鈥檛 really want to risk to go with a private translator as I鈥檝e heard a lot of stories from my business partners about how people got dumped of them. It鈥檚 better to pay a bit more than later regret it.
When we arrived at the airport, our manager met us and took to the hotel. During the way, that took us 2 hours, we could enjoy the modern Chinese buildings through the window. We decided to rest for a day and start the next day.
It was planned to visit markets with kitchens first but our nanny had to stay with my son as he felt sick after the flight. I texted the manager and the answer was: 鈥淣o problem鈥? Our manager reacted very quickly and changed our plan according to the new situation.
I was shocked by the size of the shopping malls and I didn鈥檛 know how we were going to walk through all of them. Of course, there were a lot of different styles and the items we didn鈥檛 really need. But the manager knew where to go and he took us to the places where we could find things for our project.
One more thing that impressed me is that in Foshan there are restaurants with Indian cuisine. As I鈥檓 not already young, I prefer to eat Indian food every day. So it was a pleasure to have Indian cuisine in another country because we were not sure that our stomachs would like Chinese food.
Those five days were exhausting. We walked 30 thousand steps a day!! I think my family and me had never walked so much in our lives while our manager was still energetic even at 8 pm.
I鈥檓 happy that we made the right decision to go to China for furniture sourcing. We could contact our manager day and night. We did buy everything we needed. We didn鈥檛 feel lost in a new city without the Chinese language. We always felt that the company was taking care of us. I鈥檓 very grateful to the whole team of GLOBUS company.

First of all need to say that from all the agents I was choosing from Globus were most efficient, no unwanted calls, they always have a plan. We came to purchase everything for our house, done this in 5 days. We had a brilliant manager, she was super helpful, knew her way around the markets, showed us the details of the furniture we didn鈥檛 notice which in fact led us to buying better furniture for same money as not so good quality we鈥檝e seen in the beginning.
