Seems simple right?
It's been 6 months, you read that right! Half a year since I contacted customer service to close my account.
I could write a book, and feel like I already have with the near one hundred angry emails.
I like to call Goldmoney a legitimate scam. While legal to the letter of the law, ethics of business practices are questionable. After my experience, It is lucky for them that their office is so far away. If it had been in America, Consumer Protection Agency could have helped. My questions to Goldmoney,
Inquiring who their governing body was, went unanswered. Those Canadians are evasive. I am still waiting on a wire transfer for the balance.
Buy Bitcoin, Much safer and accessible hedge on inflation. Even If gold increased in value, any money a customer may deposit. Will be lost on exorbitant monthly fees. Or The time delays invented by the company you may never see the investment again.
Literally It has been SIX MONTHS. No money, No gold, No Way should anyone invest with Goldmoney, Ever.
Roy Sebag the Founder and CEO has been too busy, Spending my money, to oversee the day to day operations or to bother taking care of one of his original investors. Fail of customer service.
I can't wait to catch up to that guy, but he is so far ahead I don't understand how he can run that fast carrying all that gold!
Sincerely,
Robert Whittier

I have been trying to withdraw my funds for over a year and all i get are canned responses. I have a personal account and i cant get verified on the holding account.

2018 i was using the account with no issues buying gold and making withdrawals. I just want to speak to someone on the telephone to find out how i can get my money.

These people are highway robbers. We have been trying to obtain funds from a parent that has passed away for one year. Everytime we provide the documentation they request, they come up with a new list of documents. They also requested that we go to Jersey probate which was not necessary apparently and wasted six months of time. And finally when we supplied them with the last item they needed, they waited one month to tell us they actually need 8 more pieces of documentation! Unbelievable and infuriating. STAY AWAY from these people. You will never get your money back.

I am revising my review since the company changed my relationship manager, everything went more smoothly. There was still the initial issue of requesting that I go through Jersey Probate which in the end turns out was not necessary. However, even though there was confusion about what documents were needed (they seemed to add on more after I sent the original batch) once my relationship manager changed I finally got great service. The new manager, Peter Duncan responded very quickly to all my concerns and emails professionally. They even arranged to reimburse me for the unnecessary legal fees as a result of hiring a Jersey probate lawyer. And they covered all the costs of the additional DHL/Fedex packages required due to additional paperwork needed. I would recommend getting a very clear list in writing of what the requirements are to remove funds (before buying gold) and following that to a "T". Also if you are not having good response from your relationship manager ask to work with someone else. I don't know if we got lucky with Peter, or unlucky with the previous manager, but now everything has been sorted out.

I had some hundreds of dollars in GM for a few years and was locked out of my account when they made the transition to Holdings. Recently I got an email saying I got charged a dormancy fee, and I tried to login and could actually get in now. Weird. I was greeted with over half my account balance taken in fees.

This is a huge scam, I don't see how you can store money in here and not go broke. It's like if your bank took 10% of your balance in fees every month. Looks like I'm not the only one, how can we do something about this? How can this company operate like this?

EDIT: I contacted them about refunding the inactivity fee and they actually did it. I transferred all my money out and paid roughly $90 in fees to do so, but I'll take it. I bumped them up to 2 stars from 1 star because they did give that money back, but paying $90 in fees to get roughly $400 is bs. The fees will eat you up, and I still can't see how you would keep your same amount with this company.

Don't ever do business with this company. I have been a verified holding for more than a decade, supported and recommended the company over the years, and then foolishly, put a lot more funds into my account end of 2019 to buy Silver as I thought it would do great in 2020. I was right, but very wrong to use Goldmoney service to trade.

Suddenly they need to verify my account, right when the market is heating up, and the verification process cannot be met. Instead they lock me out of my account and keep asking me to try again… for months and no matter what I do, they won't verify my account, always keep shifting the goal… mind you nothing has changed on my end, same address, same person, same accounts. At one point I actually passed the face verification and they said my holding was being verified… weeks go by and nothing has changed, so I reach out. They tell me I need to submit address verification again and they only accept e-statements… so I do that (for the third time), and when that is done, the whole verification process starts over and they want me to do the face verification again. It's ridiculous. Anything to prevent me from taking control of my account. Of course when I funded my account, no problem, but once the money is in my account, suddenly they don't know me.

More than a decade of paying their fees and buying/selling with them, and suddenly they don't know me and lock me out of my account – unable to buy, sell, or bring money home. Nobody can help me and new customer service representatives each time, telling me the same canned response, asking me to try again… one day they'll let me have my money back. Until then, I'm telling everyone don't go anywhere near this company. This went from a service I recommended to the worst experience I have ever had… stay away!

It wasn't always this way and I never write reviews, but felt so strongly that they are robbing many of such an important time in the PM market, instead holding money, refusing to acknowledge who gave it to them, and eliminating it with fees and inactivity. Never before have I felt as though something was stolen from me like this… never.

Very sincerely,
A most unsatisfied Goldmoney customer

I was placing money monthly for my son into a gold account as felt there was a better return than in the bank. When I looked at my account which is just shy of one Oz of gold I noticed without any notice that I am being charged 10 dollars a month.

I tried in vain after many attempts to get my money out I have resorted to calling messaging practically begging to get the money out but I keep getting a automated robot telling me someone is dealing with this. It has since been two weeks still being charged and additional charges to move vault and attempt to move money which cost 30 dollars.

I then tried to take money out which is rather confusing I was charged 35 GBP to withdraw 16 pound which is all it would let me take. I asked for this to be cancelled but still no human reply.

Avoid this disgusting company at all cost I can see from other reviews this is not a one off still waiting for human contact and money is still in vault held by nothing more than mafiosos posing as businessmen.

A completely dishonest if not criminal institution. I have tried for a week to sell my holdings but there is always some reason they won't process the request and though they promise every day the issue will be resolved and someone will call me they do not follow up. Is my money lost forever?

I had an account with a small balance for a number of years and then found they lock the account if not used and also will not allow withdrawal without a face scan (something which is impossible for me personally) They dont reply to the internal messaging system and change the rules of the account whenever they feel like it. Still fighting to close my account. Just check who the major shareholder is and things will start to make sense.

Gold money will fee you to death. They charge for putting money in and holding it and getting it out again. All must be done by wire. ex: 10.00 month minimum storage fee. 20.00 transfer fee to your account. Only wire transfer can fund your account. No credit cards or paypal. I put 400 dollars in there to get started then they started the 10 dollar a month fee and the transfer fee and removed all funding options. I was wanting to put a couple thousand in there. I decided to withdrawal what was left in 4 months time and came out with 280 after silver exceeded its original cost per ounce. Another words they will fee you to death. They have a lousy setup for small users under 200 ounces as you cannot get the silver you bought. I found out after the fact. The fees just started after I bought so……..no good for little guy. I recommend goldsilver.com they are fair. Good luck.

I have used Goldmoney before via my pension scheme. This time i have opened a private account for a short while, and few weeks later liquidated my holding. So far, so good. I have stated that i require urgent transfer of funds. Despite numerous e-mails, it has taken 6 days to initiate transfer of funds from my account. Goldmoney claim that they only do manual transfers. Now that the funds are no longer in my Goldmoney account they seem to be missing. They are not in my account neither they are in my bank account. They are somewhere in the system. It has been 6 days, and i finally managed to get phone number of someone.
The realease of funds is shocking.

After one month and several attempts, I have not managed to receive any of the requested information by Goldmoney. I wonder if they are still alive. I have been working for 30 years in the industry and this company is the last place on earth where I would put my savings.

After almost three weeks of wrangling over two continents and three nations, discovering hidden phone numbers, leaving messages that were never returned, I at last found someone willing to help me get my money out of Goldmoney. But that isn't the secret of liquidity with GM. The secret is this: If you ask to withdraw your investment when the spot gold price is high (like when I asked, around 18 April), they will delay it until the spot price bottoms out at $100 less an ounce, as it did last week. Good for them, bad for you.

We've purchase gold last year and we had it vaulted in New York. We have transferred from the New York vault to the Toronto Canada Brinks Vaul out of concern that NY Brinks didn't allow registration. We registered in Brinks Toronto. Last week we've got a call to inform us that an error has occurred and our gold bar was basically gone and they need my consent to get me a replacement
Of course we didn't give them a consent to do that. Now as of today we are waiting for a call from the President Founder of GoldMoney Roy Segar's to correct the "error". Be very careful now a days from sharks that are trying to fish you out in the murky waters of coronavirus.

This once seemingly good company has fallen to the point that it would be unacceptable to a dung beetle that had lost interest in it's chosen occupation and really let itself go!

I opened an account around 2004 and was very happy with the service. Goldmoney was then bought but a Canadian outfit a few years ago and it's not been the same since. I was locked out of my account 9 months ago with no notification, as I had to provide proof of identity. This happened again very recently. Not sure why, as I'd been a client for nearly 16 years. Whilst I was able to make a withdrawal, that, and the increasing fees, made me decide to close my account and go elsewhere. Being locked out of an account even for a few days made me very distrustful of them, which is a real shame as the service they provide ought to be made widely accessible to all.

After I noticed that I was charged $10 per month to just store the $500 in gold that I had here, I did a transfer to my bank account.
After reading some bad reviews about the company giving clients a hard time to get the money out of their accounts I was sceptical that I would get my money.
But I was able to do the transfer and I got a confimation email right away that the money was on its way. It took 3 days for it to land on my account, so I am happy with that 🙂
I give this company 3 stars for suddenly starting to charge $10 per month. I had this money stationed there for 2 years without this charge. After I wanted to do a bigger purchase of gold and I logged into the account I noticed the new monthly fee. I think this company shot itself in the knee by doing this. I would have bought many K of gold with them after they earned my trust. But that trust was broken when I saw the new monthly fee that I was not aware of, and was probably just communicated to clients trough an email.
