Terrible experience with GreenShield.
This company is horrible for dental insurance. I've worked in the dental field for 40 years and I have never seen a dental Insurance company deny replacement crowns that are 20 years old. Since Covid-19 insurance companies have made a fortune on their members for the dental portion. Dental clinics were shut down for 2 months but people kept paying their premiums so a lot of $$ was made by Green Shield as they weren't paying out. Now that we are operating again they are refusing all kinds of dental treatment. Claim was backed up by dentists letter and professional opinion describing condition of the teeth and why replacement crowns were necessary after 20 years but still denied. I feel sorry for our patient who just got ripped off from this insurance company! He is stuck with a big bill now and a lame excuse from his dental plan stating they are following industry standards which is a complete lie, I know because I deal with industry standards and it鈥檚 FIVE years for replacement of crowns, bridges and dentures. No more recommending Green Shield for us.
I will tell everyone I know to stay far far away!! If you are an employer looking for a plan for your employees take my advice don鈥檛 go with GSC.
