Not only do you get pennies for brands you've never heard of, trying to get cash back or a gift card is ridiculous. It took lots of communication to get my $20 and they gave me an Amazon gift card, which I didn't ask for. The number was not valid. The next time I tried to use it the message came up that it was already used. After emailing ibotta for was the 6th time they told me to contact Amazon. All those scanned receipts for a very long time didn't get me anything. I deleted the app.

Horrible. You go out and purchase things, expecting to be able to get cash back and they're way to greedy to pay you the money they OWE you. Total piece of trash app, complete garbage and always having errors left and right. All my family members have issues with this app too, do not download it and dont waste your money buying things they are thieves!

Trying out this app to get their $20 intro promotion, I found you have to do 9 items in 14 days to receive the bonus. Not easy to do. The main problem seems to be the single size items like sports drinks, energy bars and others are not available even at my Walmart Super Store. The items that are featured as "free" in that they refund you the purchase price are also non-existent of mostly not available. You can find the larger package sizes or bulk items but as they are brand names, the cash back is only 50 cents or a dollar and not really worth the time to use the app and wait on your cash back.

Ibotta's customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I am unable to access the money I have "earned" by purchasing approved goods. No one will respond to my questions/requests for help. An absolute waste of my time and money. I purchased name brand goods because of the rebates. I am far better of shopping at Aldi. I wonder what will become of my "rebates" from all of the manufacturers. I guess Ibotta will pocket it.

Ibotta is a rip-off! I was trying to stretch my unemployment benefits with Ibotta. I purchased 10 items at Publix to qualify for over $20.00 in "rewards". I am a member of the Publix loyalty club and signed up for digital receipts. When I downloaded the digital receipt to Ibotta, it was rejected because it was not an "original" receipt. This is total BS! A digital app will not accept a digital receipt! I feel like they stole $20.00 from me and it really stings! Avoid being ripped off!

I was scammed by ibotta a few years ago and swore I would never use it again. During the COVID shutdown, I came across a new SM platform and subsequently found the "Couponers" that tell you how to coupon and get a stockpile of products.
I came across a few that swear by ibotta so I decided to give ibotta another chance.
BIG… HUGE MISTAKE!
I have 8 receipts that I've been trying to scan but the app won't let me do it. I should have known better than to trust this horrible scamming app

They do not credit all the products you buy using their app. Too difficult to reach the $20 to retrieve money. Waste of time.

Several problems with this app and horrible customer service. They take forever to process your scanned receipt and then they say they are expired. You have 7 days to upload your receipt and did it within that timeframe but they didn't process it until 48 hours and said it was expired. I've emailed a few times now with no response. Ridiculous and a waste of time!

This is such a scam. Stay away this app. They offer great cash back but then beat around the bush for months and don't give anything. First it's not enough details, then it's not enough something else. Then 3 months later then say you just don't qualify.

Scammed my 80 year old mother into thinking she would get a free thanksgiving dinner. I purchased the goods from Walmart with the understanding that I would receive a rebate. No rebate, no customer service, no good. I ended up just paying for the thanksgiving meal and telling my mom it was free. Shame on Ibotta AND Walmart for this deceptive holiday scheme during covid.

I have $71.84 cents in rewards but it is useless do to the fact that the ibotta app will not let me verify my phone number associated with my account. Which means I cannot withdraw purchase or withdraw anything! Very frustrated with the app & poor customer service. I have already submitted the issue with the ibotta help center & It is useless because they have not made an attempt to fix the issue to let me cash out my rewards. I verified my account with my email on the website & it says I have $0.00 in my account & have not made a 1st purchase! Which is totally incorrect. When I log into my ibotta app on my iPhone, it shows that I still have my earnings of $71.84, but every time I try to cash out it is a failed attempt! When I input my phone number it says that my number is associated with another account & will not let me proceed! My ticket #8076911. Hopefully someone higher up in management can resolve this issue so I can access what I earned. I did not want to write a negative review but I was left with no choice, since emailing the help center was a waste. They didn鈥檛 care enough to resolve this issue. I am extremely dissatisfied. Also, disappointed I wasted my time with this app!

I did everything to a tee, added items, hunted at grocery store, scanned my card..they finally credited my account with my money. I linked not only my bank account, but also PayPal…both were accepted..when I tried to withdraw, couldn't do it. Error message every time. Scam company

What a mess. I followed everything to the letter and never got anything back. The upload receipt process is challenging and then you still have to scan barcode? Ummm no. Staying with Fetch where it is MUCH easier and I can be sure I will get the rewards.

The worst app ever. You loose your points. Bonus points not being added. Receipts not being uploaded correctly or not even at all. Just a horrible app. Don't waste your time. You will get upset with ths app.

They advertise you get $20 with initial sign-up. You don鈥檛.

They don鈥檛 approve receipts so often you鈥檙e wasting time begging them to give you your 25 cents. It is not worth the aggravation. If I figured out all the time I spent vs the potential earnings- it would have been pennies per hour. I never reached the $20 payout before I gave up. If there is an issue they are completely unresponsive. Take your dignity and time and move on with you life. Trust me.

Such a waste of time. You'll end up purchasing crap you may not have otherwise- then try and submit receipt and they reject it. Happened 3x before I said screw this nonsense. It would take years to ever reach $20 payout when they reject half the time. Trust me, spend your time doing things that are less frustrating- like threading a needle while blindfolded

They reversed credit for my purchases and bonus that were fully eligible and locked my account, so I can not withdraw money. They are total fraud app, stay away!
First they approve and credit the account, then reversed sending vague and unreasonable reasons like, we can't read your receipt, there is no offer on receipt etc.

Ibotta is just scamming users. They offer lucrative rebate offers, you purchases, submit, they credit you, and you complete bonuses within deadlines. Then before one can withdraw money it is all reversed, suddenly receipts have no offers, are not readable, not eligible, folded and all sorts of vague reasons. Cheating openly to scam users into purchasing stuff and then taking out money from user's accounts. I say a class action is waiting to happen

It has now happened twice where an item is still showing available on my list and then when I go to redeem the offer after purchase on that same day the item is not there. When I go back to my list it is still showing available which is so frustrating. I have missed out on $4 cash back because of this technical issue and when I wrote in to Ibotta customer service (literally the only way to contact them) they never responded back.

I downloaded the app and could not figure out how to use it either. Not user friendly at all! I use Fetch because its easier.

Things work fine until they don't. After saving over $300 and yes, I did periodically get my payout, now I cannot. I want a $25 Amazon card and I cannot. I am constantly getting the "We're having trouble connecting" message but there is no trouble connecting when they are sending me messages, or I'm trying to redeem a receipt or they are sending me message to refer new customers, etc. They seem to connect when they know I enter a wrong password as well. If this is such a problem, then they need to review their service and work to make it better for their clients. Business needs to work both ways, not just in their favor.

After purchasing numerous items with Ibotta rebates. I went to upload my receipt. To discovered Ibotta only takes in-store purchase receipts! With the coronavirus, and being high risk, it is a lot safer to use curbside pick up. I am very disappointed and feel misled. I intentionally bought items that had rebates to save money. All of these items that I purchased with Ibotta rebates are not things I would've otherwise purchased. Since Ibotta well only except in-store receipts they should be upfront about this. Should be one of the first thing you see on the website.

Keep saying my account had been taken care of about getting my money. Ask me do I have another account because whom ever had my number before me had an account under this number that I've had for 1 month.

I joined Ibotta about 3 years ago. They used to be a decent company and whether or not you purchased items in their list, you still were able to earn money just by uploading your receipt as long as it was from a store or restaurant on their list.

Let's be honest, I have been trying to upload my receipts for the last few months, right as I get home only for their scanner and barcode thing only for it not to find anything. I have spent over $500.00 on groceries, household needs, over the last few months but have not earned anything, even for the receipt itself when it comes to ibotta.

They have made it t where you can only earn if you have the app open and pay with ibotta or buy things on their list which is mostly stuff I do not buy because I am a vegan and have no kids, and I am not a female so I do not need, want, or use make up, etc.

I am going to close my account because this app has made it really hard to earn and then if you do not earn from a receipt, after 30 days they charge a $3.99 fee. oh wow, how only $1.30 earned since joining and i have 45 cents balance. yet I spend over $100 each month and earn on other sites and apps for these same receipts, as well as my e-reciepts found in my email and through Amazon, oh yeah, that is another feature they have failed to implement. This company will never pay you a cent unless you purchase from their list or pay using their pay with ibotta payment system. they must be crazy, I do not trust third party payment systems.
