4 things that have appealed to me as a novice (and a 鈥渃hallenged鈥?novice, at that!):
1) Location: Very convenient neighborhood location for me.
2) One hour classes: I鈥檝e noticed that many places have primarily 1-陆 classes. First, that鈥檚 just kind of long time to try to carve into a day during busy weeks. Two, as a novice, it鈥檚 probably a little intimidating. So 1 hour classes address both of those things.
3) Range of classes: There description of basic and slow flow type classes was the clincher for me to give it a try. Seemed a good way to try out something as I am healing from injury, and just to get over general trepidation. The 30-day new student deal is kind of a no-brainer, and sealed the deal. (Seems that all the experienced folks love the place, too.)
4) Instructors: I鈥檝e found the instructors all to be appealing folks, I suspect that they鈥檙e very good at what they do, and they鈥檝e been supportive of me as a novice (while not seeming overly solicitous) with good insight about working around some injuries. I have felt comfortable joining in, feel that I鈥檓 making good progress, and have enjoyed participating. [Note: I鈥檝e joined classes with Jenny, Becky, and Morgan, and have been pleased with all. Look forward to experiencing some other instructors eventually.]
I鈥檓 pleased with the variety and volume I experienced during the first month, and have now "joined" for real. (Well, since you can buy packages, the level of formal "commitment" is pretty minimal, but I suspect I'll keep at this.) And, better yet, I'm pleased w/ my progress in the first month, too.
