My malware checkers previously indicated some infection. However, I have not been able to detect such malware in recent times. I've felt that the site has always been good but was susceptible to being compromised.

As an IT professional, I gave them my e-mail about a decade ago.I used to be able to unsubscribe and they would stop for months, then resume. Now I cannot get them to stop. The unsubscribe link now requires you to sign on to an account. I use the email address they send to, and my alternate, but a "reset password" request says that it doesn't exist. When I keep receiving their emails I get angry at them and their advertisers. I give up. I am blocking all their emails now.

Good source of information. SANS refers to them all the time, so this guy spamming/trolling the sec sites and calling all web bugs may be over-reading this statistic. Or not, but in either case, you can read the site and learn a lot without getting your ID stolen. I feel it is a fine site, I recommend it.
