iNaturalist is one of the most popular nature apps in the world, and it allows you to identify the plants and animals that are in your immediate vicinity. Join a group of more than 400,000 experts on the natural world who are eager to share their knowledge and guide your exploration of the natural world. In addition, by keeping a journal of your observations and sharing them with others, you will help researchers who are attempting to gain a deeper comprehension of the natural world in order to better protect it. iNaturalist is a project that was created through a partnership between the California Academy of Sciences and the National Geographic Society.

How to uninstall the application:

- Uninstall the iNaturalist app by selecting it and clicking Uninstall.

I’m just a twenty-year-old kid who’s always been curious about the roles that the various creatures in my environment play, and this has been the most enjoyable way for me to find out. You are able to upload a picture of the animal that is of a decent quality, it is helpful if there are multiple pictures, and you are able to describe what you saw in the area designated for descriptions. There are no advertisements. You will enter your location, which can be changed at any time to ensure that it will not be discovered. Keep in mind that the location can often be the deciding factor in identifying a species; as a result, you should strive to be as accurate as possible when describing the location. After you have done that, AI, which stands for artificial intelligence, examines the pictures and makes comparisons between them and other pictures that are similar as well as species that are found in the area. It will frequently provide you with a suggestion that is accurate or another 10 suggestions below, among which I usually find the species I’m looking for if it is not too obscure. In addition, I have helped further the understanding of the locations of certain species, which is an amazing feeling. My only gripe is that there is nowhere else besides this page where users can provide feedback, and the upload speed is painfully slow. On the other hand, this is a fantastic app that I strongly suggest any biologist download. Yes, you too can have your species examined by a microscope!!! I’d like to express my gratitude to the California Academy of Sciences and the National Geographic Society for their contributions to the development of this app.
Once you have made your first observation (taking a picture and identifying the species), everything about this app is extremely helpful and really user friendly. I couldn’t ask for an identification system that was any simpler than what it offers. Before I found this app, I had to manually identify things on my own, so I have a deep appreciation for the labor that has gone into the creation of this app. My only two pieces of advice are as follows: 1. Allow users to tap and zoom in on the image being used while scrolling through the list of possible identifications; and 2. Implement an automatic tagging system for species that are spotted in an area that is not their natural habitat. I am going to college to study invasive species, and I think that it would be really cool if this app implemented a labeling system to notify users if they have identified an invasive species in the area. I think that it would be really cool to study invasive species.
